Thank Goodness we have you Harry, I don’t know what we would do without you. Thanks for another great review! I MUST TRY THESE! I absolutely love the tin!
I just got a 9B and a 6B to test them out... They are smooth as butter, I'm going to buy more of them because they are fenomenal. They are solid, thick pencils, but at the same time incredibly light and well balanced in the hand. They might be called the Rolls Royce of the graphite pencils
I have these Harry and I just love especially the hard pencils they are so smooth no scratchiness at all and they blend beautifully for very subtle shading
I've been watching your channel for some time after retiring and getting into art and art supplies, so thanks for all your efforts you have helped me a lot. I now have a habit and my collection is growing fast and with your help so far haven't made any big mistakes. That gradient shaded paint job is a real eye catcher and makes a lot of sense and I'm now tempted to buy them. Haaaaa.!
Hi Mr. Integrity....Thank you so much for all you so generously offer your viewers.....WE so appreciate you! You give us the best advice and allow us to see for ourselves what we need to know. I have Caran d' Ache Grafwoods and they are amazing........but here in the States ,they are costly. I just checked with the store/brand that I am talking about further down, BUT they aren't available in Europe or the UK unless you pay International shipping which might bring the price up to what we pay for Caran d' Ache. We pay $3.98 at discount on-line stores per pencil. In an actual art store they can be as much as $5 each. There is a huge difference between this pencil and several other brands. However, what I'm about to say is going to sound bizarre, but keep in mind the idea of a "Loss Leader." In the states that means a product that is made by the company selling it in a store........ The cost of a "Loss Leader," is far less than the quality of the item. The idea is that if you buy that product you will order much more at the regular price. Dick Blick is a very large on-line and brick and mortar art store chain in the USA. They have several products like this, including some really nice drawing paper.. Their "Studio," graphite drawing pencils are as good as Caran 'd Ache, "Grafwood." Do your own test. Blick's are outstanding. I saw them compared to all the top brands available in the USA and was surprised at the difference in tonal range of the various pencil brands. Here's why I say that Blick is a loss leader pencil. The price of each pencil is and has been under $1, USA. Currently they are $.99 and if you buy them by the dozen, per size, they are currently $.49. I have seen them as low as $.78 each. I know this only applys here but it's an option.
I have to agree with you, I am a huge Caran dAche fan boy, I just love their products, at least the products I’ve reviews. Their quality is just amazing including the cheaper products. A wonderful company.
I have to say, I prefer the Caran D’Ache Graphite, I find the other brands in their H ranges are very gritty and I know that is because they have less graphite and more binder but I find the Caran D’Ache Graphite to be much smoother, and a little darker in their B ranges.
Great video Harry! 😁 These look like awesome graphite pencils. Not all pencils are the same and if the focus of creating is in graphite, they look like the are worth the money. I haven't worked in just graphite for a long time, although I'm hoping to do a piece this year & picked up some graphite powder. I'm gonna go check out the eye now. I hope you are doing well my friend. 🤗
By far the best pencils. I have the full range of Faber Castell’s, Derwents, Staedtler, I’ve even got a set of Daler Rowney but these are just so superior.
@iiiNTELLEX yep 100%. I love Faber Castells and Derwents ranges but Grafwood are just a cut above. They are expensive so try open stock. That’s what I done with my first set. But trust me you won’t be disappointed.
@iiiNTELLEX any time friend. I have spent a lot on pencils so will happily give advice to try and help people save some money. I know they are expensive but a set of these will last and offer a better range of shades than some of the larger sets.
@@dannyburns4392 :D Cheers I actually found normal non-mechanical sharpener that fits perfectly for those specific pencils. M+R (603 - Double Wedge) sharpener made in Germany. The smaller hole is just the perfect size for these pencils.
The M&R brand of sharpeners is outstanding, you can buy replacement M&R blades, there is 10 in a set and only a few quid, but they are excellent. I love it when I have to change the blade because they are so incredibly sharp that they shave the pencil like butter.
I’m wondering if you were stood face to face to me would you tell me to shut up? I’m guessing not. So don’t be a keyboard warrior my friend, say and do exactly what you would do in your every day life. This is a RUclips channel, there are many like it but this one is mine. If you don’t like the content simply move on or even state why you don’t like it, but don’t start getting disrespectful and all brave because you think you are safe and free to say what you like from the confines of your Mums basement. Unfortunately for you my friend, you have caught me at a really bad time and I am fed up to the back teeth of weak people such as yourself trying to impose yourself on others. I couldn’t care less what you think of the content and even if you say it in a respectful manner to the other subscribers of this channel, but when you try to impose your weakness on me by telling me to shut up, I will pay for a round trip to meet up with me and you can tell me to my face to shut up and I guarantee you will not need that return ticket. Think before you run your mouth, you might get a young RUclipsr who would take what you said to heart and cause them all manner of problems. I am just so thankful you landed on my channel. I look forward to hearing from you my friend and looking even more forward to meeting up. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays
@@TheArtGearGuide oh, this was it, I’m sorry you took it the wrong way, I apologize, it was an impulsive comment with no bad intentions whatsoever, I didn’t even remembered this until I saw your reply on the Staedtler Lumograph review video because I was watching it again, I like the channel, I love the content, I’m sorry again and I reiterate, you saw bad intentions where there were none. Hope you can forgive me, I now what you meant when you said you were in a bad moment, I know what your daughter was going through, let me tell you I’m no bully, I don’t try to impose myself on others, I suffered bullying in primary school as well, I deal with anxiety and depression because I have Addison’s disease and believe when I tell you I understand. It was a thoughtless comment to make, believe me though, no intention of hurting you in any way, hope you accept my apology and hope you answer. Maybe it was a good thing I didn’t see your reply until now, to have the chance to clarify myself and apologize. Caran dache has the best off everything. I feel like a king drawing with them

I love the pencil barrels, it looks so much easier to find the correct pencil.
Do yo think that these pencils are the best one compared with Faber, Derwent, staedtler? Thanks

Still have it but used only the HB....
Can you revisit this pencils in 2021?
Absolutely I will give this set a revisit.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
What do you use to sharpen them?
Got to be mechanical. You can get a helix desktop sharpener for about £15 and they are great. I have 2 of them and they have never let me down.

I like M+R stuff. I just generally prefer mechanical but you will never get pencils as sharp as you can with a hand sharpened pencil.
W.O.W.
