I just randomly found this while browsing youtube for old favorite cartoons of mine. I was raised by my mom to be open to all religions and am now Pagan, but I remember watching all these Kingdom Chums cartoons when I was little. Good morals and values are not limited to any one religion and I'm glad I was exposed to these and have great memories of them. :)
actually it is possible: when you remember that Goliath was beheaded while defending his home against a foreign fundamentalist invader, it's easier....
I love Mary Anne's line when their friend faints: "You look like Charlie Brown!" since that was what the character from the comic strips and animated special often did. :)
Pure as a mountain's snowfall, Clear as a forest's stream, Calm as a desert sunset, Soft as a baby's dream, You are a child of God. That's all you need to understand. You are a child of God. He holds you ever safely in his hand.
You will be warm in winter. You will be dry in rain. Angels will watch your journey. No one will cause you pain. You are a child of God. That's all you need to understand. You are a child of God. He holds you ever safely in his hand.
I heard there was going to be some other sequel to this, with a bear named Princess Essie (after Esther), but it got cancelled. However, yet another sequel "The Original Top Ten" did have a female bear (but that was Little Mama Miriam), and it did have a character named Essie (but that was a white cat), and it renamed Magical Mose (as Marvelous Mose), and another raccoon named Little David (but different), and there were no live-action scenes.
@KBAFourthtime and miriam is such great character, both here and in the bible. Essie i think is supposed to be Esther, though i think they could have personified that better. i think christopher is a referance to the St. Christopher, the patron saint of travelers, which makes total sense since hes leading them on a journey.
@KBAFourthtime just curious, one time i found a clip from a broadway show, and later found it was posted by one of the original cast members, so you never know...
Different sequels to this were planned, one of which was to include a bear named Princess Essie (the nickname for Esther), and like this special, that planned special was going to be based off a Biblical story, but that was to be based off the story of Esther. But they got cancelled. However, the "Original Top Ten" took over.
@sweeney60 I can understand his constantly laughing, though; he's the Kingdom Chum of Joy. It's also a shame that neither of the female Chums (neither Essie nor Little Mama Miriam) were even created yet.
Yeah, I know it kind of sounds like they're saying moose, but I think they're saying "mose", as in Moses. It would fit with the whole old Testament theme.
@sweeney60 I could have sworn Christopher's name might have been based off of Jesus, but I could never find a person in the Bible named Christopher anyway. They sure did personify Esther better as Essie.
I bet this show should entertain anyone who believes and trying to believe in God and Jesus. THANKS FOR UPLOADING!

Its scientifically impossible not to love this film

I also just found out Disney movies, like "Robin Hood", were an influence to Squire Rushnell creating anthropomorphic animals.

"You're funny, Sauli. He looks like Charlie Brown."
@Theobelo Yes that was Sandi Patty.
The actor voicing Moses was Isaac in Children of the Corn.

I heard that Magical Mose got renamed in the "Original Top Ten" as "Marvelous Mose" for the producers believing that "Magical" is sacrilegious.
@KBAFourthtime So this was originally going to be a series of specials, then?
@KBAFourthtime
do you have any personal connection to the films or just a fan?

@HamptonRoadsTVFan It sure sounds like it, but it got canceled.
Why does Little Davids voice sound so familiar too?, not his singing voice 'cause thats obviously not the same person.
@KBAFourthtime
his cane i think is supposed to be reminicent of moses' staf, but ya i think magical is all wrong.

@alligatorjuice is right
@sweeney60 I'm just a fan.
@sweeney60 You know what? You're right. It is better, and it has more songs.
@KBAFourthtime
i think the original top ten had much better quality both in story and in animation
The Original top ten movie is so much better then this one.. the characters are not so dorky and everything is more awesome.
