When I find myself conforting someone who's really sad or worried for whatever reason I always end up saying at some point things like: "Do you need some water? Shall I give you a blanket? Would you like some tea? A cookie maybe?" Tools in the physical world! :D
Oh boy. I always was typed as ISFJ but I know thats the most common typing they assign to women and it didnt feel quite right but this I totally relate to, this is the first time I've realllly seen myself in one of your videos, oh boy I am so embarrassed 😳
Oh my goodness, I’ve seen that last clip on my own so many times before, and once I saw that you two were about to react to it on this video I got SO EXCITED 😂
I was writing a diary since I was 12 and in university (I studied psychology) I had an internship to get to know different places where psychologists work. And one of the tasks was also to write a diary of the internship. And that's fine, I like writing a diary, and I did. And then my lecturer read my internship diary, and she says to me: you probably have never written a diary before? (I was like (in my mind): what? what are you talking about? I am writing diaries for 7 years!) And she says: there are no emotions in it. Me (also in my mind): ooooh, so there have to be emotions in diaries. Ok, I'll try that. My diaries were mostly: today I did this, I did that, and that. Well, I also sometimes add my thoughts, ideas, dreams, wishes. I always was quite sure that I'm NT (and had some doubts that maybe I'm NF [TiNe]). Now I was recently was pointed out by my boyfriend that I'm probably Si and I guess Ne is my demon (I like new things!).
I actually love how that's a commercial now, and it plays on the anticipation of the meme itself. We've all enjoyed how he pretends his bed is a desk and how that child is awesomely ruining his facade -- everything is so incredibly real except the idea that he keeps thick books on display near the foot of his guest bedroom that the sitter probably sleeps in
@@alexandragatto Well, I was vague and implied they were 1% enough to have an au pair or long term child care to "keep the romance." That is a spare bedroom if there has ever been a spare bedroom.
I'm probably an SiTi instead of a SiFe, because most people describe me as a very logical person, and also very quiet and introverted. Just close friends and my family notice my Fe. I don't hate people, but I prefer be alone most of the time. But I like to spend some time helping others in a practical way, like teaching a classmate or doing tasks to my mom.
INTJ here. I do love Bill and Melinda Gates and Melinda is CRITICAL for that foundation to work. But omg, I work with a couple of ISTJs and they are something. One is a programmer and sits near me and we are good buddies. But OMG when he starts talking about his projects around the house, I just smile and think "Here we go". He gives me EVERY LITTLE DETAIL, of which I care nothing about. LOL I have to tell him, "Gary, I'm getting a little overstimulated on all the details man" and he's like "Oh sorry" and proceeds to give me "just a few more details". He's a sweetheart but there is no way I could be married to an ISTJ. I prefer the feelers and intuitors.
That is me telling my friends how my date went. Every time. At the same time I think to my self this somehow does not really Te work for them. hahahahah
I love that last clip 🤣🤣🤣 After that incident happened BBC dad put out a bullet-point statement dispelling all rumors and I remember thinking it sounded very robotic 🤣
I know an ENTJ who haaaaaates qualitative data. Mention qualitative data and she will go on a 15minute rant about how unreliable it is. She considers it invalid and (my word) messy. This explains what I've seen in her so well. Oh my goodness even the exact and precise hand gestures. That's exactly how she'll hold her hands when speaking.
I was just watching a video yesterday where this ENFJ had mentioned how she likes qualitative data more than quantitative data, and she was basically saying how it's more useful to her Fe & Ti, whereas with TJs the quantitative data is more useful for their Te & Fi. If you want to see the video, it's called "Synchronic Saturdays EP 28: Demystifying Extroverted Thinking (Te) - Efficacy" by Meghan Levota, I just thought I would share because I found it really coincidental that I ran into your comment just now while this video was still fresh in my mind.
It only partially makes sense to give tools to people to make them happy. Because what they really need is to learn how to get those tools for themselves. What the ST is doing, is catching a fish and feeding others, which only works in the short run; instead of teaching others how to fish.
For me ideas are meaningless (somewhat) unless you actually put them to use. People who annoy me: "We need world peace and everyone will save the environment and the whales and no more fossil fuels" Me: "...You can't even cook your own food properly, how are you going to save the world?"
When somebody ask me how I met my boyfriend, I honestly (accurately) say I met him at work, he opened door for me (he works as Security). I think people usually expect more but I usually stop there. I’m not sure about my type, several people snd tests typed me as ENTJ; I think I’m some kind of personality jumper.
I'm really conflicted whether I'm Si-Ti or Si-Fe because I DO hate people and want to be left alone most of the time but then there are some people where I feel my Fe surfacing. I dunno man.
I thought that Melinda is an INFJ, because of how much she talks about how she loves interacting with the people she's helping. She would come and live with them, ask them about how they lead their lives, and what they want to improve their lives based on their existing religious/cultural/personal beliefs (that can differ greatly from typical Western's system). Just seem quite Fe to me?
Here's the funny thing - when I'm off on my own thinking about lead-ST personality types, I can't help but feel a sort of loathing towards the ST mindset. It seems shallow, hamfisted, and nihilistic. That being said, I tend to get along _best_ with lead-ST personality types, even more so than my fellow NT higher-education-acting smartasses. This is an unusual discrepancy to be sure, but given what I've learned about typology here, I have a theory as to why: While taking ST types into consideration in a highly introverted mood, I am operating on an NF-intensive mindset, which is of course opposite to the ST mindset. Given that I am most likely a double decider who seeks harmony between self and tribe, this is certainly not an absolute opinion of ST types, so in an interlocutive environment with an ST, I can get along with them extremely well. Just a little dynamic to consider for double-deciders.
Are you saying you're an NT who introspects with NF? That's fascinating. I avoid Fe/Fi when I introspect precisely because values will color my understanding.
@@Chatoyancify Yeah. I keep it to myself though. I have a lot of niche likes and dislikes that I generally would rather not share, so I prefer to talk to others using reasons which are applicable to them. Anybody with a Te/Fi decider axis will be introspective with feelings rather than reasons, as standard with the Sleep animal (two introverted functions, an introverted observer and a decider, working together), while Fe-Ti axis users prefer to introspect on their reasons and consider feelings as something applicable to others. ENTJ, INTJ, ISFP, and ESFP all have a totally introverted NF dynamic. Whether they decide to express their NF more regularly depends on how introverted/self-over-tribe they are. Standard INTJ will only share opinions when its "safe" to do so, while highly introverted "jumpers" (such as DaveSuperPowers) will be more bold with their personal feelings. ENTJ use NF introspectively as well, but being single deciders, they definitely prefer to keep that to themselves.
Do we deduce that you're INTJ, with an NIFi thing going on? Interestingly (unsurprisingly?) enough, I have the exact opposite response as an ENTP: - When I'm introverting but need to actually do real things, I find myself immensely envious of the STs, especially the Si ones. In this mode the control aspect doesn't give me such a bad allergic reaction as it does when I'm extraverting, but to keep hold of detail, consistency and recall takes so much attention that perspective (the 'why') goes out of the window, and so much energy that I can't keep it up for long. The ability to do the boring stuff well, all the time, without complaint strikes me as the mark of an excellent human. - When I'm extraverting, I get so frustrated with that obnoxious 'rootedness'! I've got ideas, I want to surf that Ne wave until I see where it breaks and then do the details later, but the STs won't Fe come with me until they can see a concrete reason which I can't give them until we've surfed for a bit, which is the whole point! It smacks of intentional small-mindedness, and often comes across to me as dumbly condescending. - I get on really well with ST types one-on-one, and then often end up narking them off in goup settings.
