When a partner cheats after saying, " I Love You," and their partner takes them back, it changes from a love relarionship to a toxic relationship. This new defined relationship is now filled with manipulation for the woman, who keeps on compromising her worth by taking him back. The man on the other hand, is emasculated when he keeps on allowing a female to strip him of his manhood, by making him feeling inadequate. The way I see it, that cheating partner, whether male, or female needed to be honest in the first place about their sex addiction, or mental problem. You cannot violate people and actively love them. Violating others is not a loving action. Cheating is a violation of trust, bond, and respect for yourself and significant other. All of this sounds hopeless until we consider the real issues of honesty, forgiveness, what faithfulness really means and what it will cost each of us and most importantly what love is actually about.
When I eventually found out my ex husband was cheating. I filled for a divorce but made every effort to get us both into counseling. He denied the current cheating relationship to the end, looked at the divorce as me getting revenge but refused to enter counseling. He eventually said he didn't want counseling, he wanted to be alone, and he loved me but was not in love with me. He later got married to the same woman he denied being with and had a child with her in the early stages of the divorce process. After the divorce I confirmed my suspicions that he w was cheating all throughout the marriage by stories that came forward. If I was not satisfying he should have communicated this and sought ways for us to improve our relationship. He was not satisfying me and fulfilling my marital and family needs either but I didn't go out and cheat. Communication is key relationships can be mended if the two people commit to work on it.

When a partner cheats after saying, " I Love You," and their partner takes them back, it changes from a love relarionship to a toxic relationship. This new defined relationship is now filled with manipulation for the woman, who keeps on compromising her worth by taking him back. The man on the other hand, is emasculated when he keeps on allowing a female to strip him of his manhood, by making him feeling inadequate. The way I see it, that cheating partner, whether male, or female needed to be honest in the first place about their sex addiction, or mental problem. Sometimes that cheater has their own secret fight with a void of never ever feeling loved, no matter who comes along. As a result, they need to do some introspection and find out who in their past, or childhood made them fear being vulnerable enough to give and receive love. It's a deep rooted problem. Bottomline, hurt people, hurt people, so they need to heal before getting others involved. PERIOD.

Often times people step out and cheat because of fear...fear of self, the future or their past coming back to haunt them. Also I believe it's complicated and depends on the circumstances of the people involved. A man cheating once, being open and remorseful about it and actively working to be a better person and partner moving forward might love his partner but have some issues with himself that he needs to work out... and other men (and people in general) are just serial cheaters who enjoy deception and the power or fantasy. Now... in no situation is their partner required to be understanding and forgive them, cheating can really hurt a person so regardless of the reason I think it'd just be a lot better to avoid doing it.

So this 9 minute discussion is a nice little microcosm of the modern issues at hand. Most people say they want monogamy but I believe it is just a combination of a desire for security and cultural bias that perpetuates this idea generation after generation in America and most of the Western nations. To the point: we as a society don't actually believe in true monogamy. That being one man and one woman for life. We actually mean one person at a time when ever that time may begin be it at age 15 or age 35 or when ever Cupid hits us with the arrow of love and of course we make a whole hearted commitment. Not even these well meaning panelists can agree on what is truly okay and what isn't. Why is this? Because, human sexuality has never and can not be one size fits all no matter how convenient that would be for society. Should people cheat? No! But they do for hundreds of reasons not the least being the fact that a partner may not be capable of meeting all the needs of the other person. No one really wants to accept that but it's true often. There are no perfect people, there are no perfect marriages, there are no perfect sex partners. All of this sounds hopeless until we consider the real issues of honesty, forgiveness, what faithfulness really means and what it will cost each of us and most importantly what love is actually about.
When I eventually found out my ex husband was cheating. I filled for a divorce but made every effort to get us both into counseling. He denied the current cheating relationship to the end, looked at the divorce as me getting revenge but refused to enter counseling. He eventually said he didn't want counseling, he wanted to be alone, and he loved me but was not in love with me. He later got married to the same woman he denied being with and had a child with her in the early stages of the divorce process. After the divorce I confirmed my suspicions that he w was cheating all throughout the marriage by stories that came forward. If I was not satisfying he should have communicated this and sought ways for us to improve our relationship. He was not satisfying me and fulfilling my marital and family needs either but I didn't go out and cheat. Communication is key relationships can be mended if the two people commit to work on it.

Just because someone loves you doesn't mean they definitely should be sexually attracted to you. A man may not cheat but at the same time may not be sexually satisfied with you. Its always a blessing when someone loves you and he is sexually attracted to you at the same time. But love and sex are two different things. Love can be triggered by different things, being nice, polite, humble, caring, honest, etc. and so does sex. A man can love you and would lose the drive to want to be with you sexually by nagging at him all the time.
But the sex can be worked on too. There is a lot of literature out there and therapists that can help.

I think that romanticizing the idea of love is an American idealistic fantasy. Love is in spite of, not because of. Relationships are not ownership. Sex has very little to do with love as a man. Cheating has nothing to do with self-esteem. We really need to study the nature of a man without cultural influence. What's the biology of a man? If more men cheat than not, what does that say?

Both sides having their needs met IS very important in a relationship, but there is no excuse for transferring blame when it comes to cheating. You either honor your commitment by staying faithful with that person until the fulfillment is back, or you leave the relationship because your needs aren't being met- as you should. You don't get to choose to stay in the relationship, cheat, then blame the other person for your cheating. If I wasn't enough for you, you should have left or been honest about it so we could make improvements. I know someone in recovery for a physical injury; she'd be damned if her boyfriend tried to use her injury to blame her or justify hurting her and disrespecting their relationship. Most men are not cheating with other men, they are doing so with other women. If more women stuck to an agreed upon cultural code of not cheating it would reduce the cheating considerably, but we all know we are no where near a consensus on that either. Can a man love you and cheat? Maybe. A huge factor in the strength of a relationship is conflict management. As a man if I’m with you I expect a certain amount of goodwill and respect, and I’m committed to giving that. If we have an argument and you say or do something that shows me there is no respect or goodwill. That there is contempt or dislike. It changes the chemistry, bond, and relationship. You go from man she got my back to hmmmm she’s not happy or she don’t love me like that. So you come to grow distant. Cheating can happen with this as a premise.
