- I take a trip to Louisville Kentucky to visit Long Run Cemetery. This cemetery holds the final resting place of the grandfather of Abraham Lincoln. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and holds a lot of history from the state of Kentucky. In the terms of the ages of the graves, this is the oldest cemetery that I’ve visited on my channel.
Please visit the Official Whittdocs Merchandise store, and check out some of my gear. Thanks for all of the support. Please click below to visit.

Thank you for showing the gravesite of Abraham Lincoln’s Grandfather. I am a huge Abraham Lincoln fan. Also I love your voice & all the videos you have. Again, Thank you! 👍🏻
I really appreciate that. I have a few more videos relating to Lincoln I believe.
I can remember being in an old family cemetery and while walking and taking pictures I heard clear as day; "STOP ! STOP !" I stopped walking, looked around, no one was there and after looking down you could see a pretty well covered up by grass and all area in front of me, it turned out to be an opening to a well ! One more step and I'd have fallen in it. After putting some boards over it out loud I thanked the sprite that saved my life. This was in the Pine Barrens at an old homestead.
Remember me as you pass by, as you are now so once was I.
As I am now, soon you will be, so prepare for death and follow me.
I've seen that on a head stone.
Wow. What a fantastic comment. Thank you so much.
Wow.. that’s super cool !!!! Glad you’re ok

Thank you for sharing this cemetery with us. Never seen a cemetery that had Revolutionary War veterans laid to rest there. Had ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War. It’s a special cemetery. God bless you and your family
Thank you so very much. I greatly appreciate the kind comment.
There are American Revolutionary age stones at Penn Run Cemetery in Highview, Ky as well which is also in Jefferson County. It is a beautiful place to visit as well.
I need to try to find that.
I'm so glad you do these videos about cemeteries. My family loves visiting them in Australia. We don't find them creapy, we find the a world of knowledge. So thanks again
Same!!
Such history, and what stories these lovely people could tell! Great work!
Thank you for teaching me the history of this Cemetery.I love going to cemetery's to learn what I can about who are buried and their history.Again Thank You for sharing.
Beautiful cemetery. You are certainly correct about how this place carries its age with grace and beauty. Very interesting
I appreciate you watching. Thank you so much!
I live in Australia and always loved Glen Campbell. Could you deviate and visit the Glen Campbell Museum which is chock full of his memorabilia and guitars and stage clothes and music you could do a whole film clip of the Glen Campbell Museum.
I have no hope of travelling due to being in a wheelchair but would love to see it and I'm sure other fans of his would too.
If you can't it really doesn't matter because I am really loving your work.
I have enjoyed your walk through the cemetery. I’ve watched a couple of your video’s and am impressed with the integrity and respect that you show. Thank you for taking us along
I love listening to the stories. I'm also amazed at the early workmanship on the older headstones.
Thank you so much for watching.
Finger pointing up represents the soul going up to heaven. Great job! More please!!
Thank you so very much! Check out some more of my videos. They’re all cemetery related. Thank you.
You always find such interesting gravesites. Hard to wrap my head around Lincoln's grandfather losing his life fighting native American indians! LOL, so different than the gravesites I visit here in California :-)
You know. Lol. Things surprise me too on my visits. I’ve learned a lot. Thanks for watching, Steve.
Very very interesting I love you videos , I also like visiting cemetery’s we have a beautiful cemetery in Greenville Ohio , and Annie Oakley is buried in Darke co just outside Greenville Thank you I loved Abe Lincoln
Thank you so much for watching! I’ve actually visited Annie Oakley’s grace before. I have a video about it. Thank you so much for watching. I greatly appreciate it.
I missed the one with Annie Oakley I’ll have to see if I can find it . Thank you so much love your videos !
I have been to the Cemetery in Greenville, Ohio. What episode is the Annie Oakley grave?
I love cemeteries...especially old ones..I've been to many cemeteries as a genealogist, tracing my own family as well as the family trees of other ppl who have needed help. So, yep, I do enjoy your videos...As for the concrete box that the regular stone sits on top of...in most cases they are there for support. Some were made at the time and some were added later...alot of the older ones, will have a "slit" cut through the tops of them for the taller flat stone to sit in. Most of the time when you see a stone with the lamb on top of them, that was an infant or a child buried there. You are doing an awesome job...thank you so much for your videos....
I really appreciate that comment. Thank you so much for sharing that with me.
@@Whittdocs You are most welcome...:)
Just watched your video of Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Great video. I live in Dayton and have been a Woodland Tour Guide for about ten years. You're welcome!
I've always been interested in historical cemeteries. Good job.
I appreciate that. Thank you so much.
The history you find is outstanding and great to see how nice this cemetary is kept. You only see old family plots everyone is crammed in these days. My family has an 18 pack in Massachusetts, unfortunately with no history. Thanks for the merch, I'll be checking it out.
I greatly appreciate the very kind comment. Thank you so much for watching.
So cool. Thank you.

I heard the finger pointing up has reference to gone up to heaven. Fascinating to see such old stones. Thank you.
I appreciate that. Thank you so much.
Very nice video. As you said picturesque
Thank you for watching!
As a Kentucky minister and historian, I’ve gotta say- I love your work! Re: the cement though, I think that was a trend kind of happening around the turn of the 20th century where folks have tried to shore up broken/decaying stones. Even Jamestown settlement has had to deal with removing cement from original markers.
I really appreciate you sharing. Thanks so much for the kind comment.
Thank you. I enjoy seeing the old cemeteries and the histories. My maternal and paternal grandparents were buried in different country cemeteries in Johnston COUNTY OK. Guess that's where my interest is from.
Please be careful in your journey. Just after getting into my car from visiting one my car was attacked by killer bees.
Took several miles to outrun them.
One old cemetery I visited is the city cemetery in Roma, TX just on the border with Mexico. The little city has quite a history and some older gtaves. Lovely cemetery. Thank you again.
Wow. Be careful out there also. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
I enjoy your videos thank u for sharing am from Kentucky this is so interesting

I really appreciate that. I’m so glad to have you a long.
My favorite of your videos so far. I love old cemeteries that contain the earliest settlers to this country. The Revolutionary War Veterans buried there
really peaked my interest. I imagine Kentucky, W.V. and Tenn. have many 18th to 19th century cemeteries and burial grounds (where a Church is or was located) known and unknown.
Thank you for your efforts.
Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate the history of places like this. Thank you for watching.
There is a church and cemetery in Monroe County, WV. Rehoboth Church. 1700’s.
