    Nice video, it must be a nightmare to tow an eight metre wide caravan. 😂😜

    Thanks for that. Great to be given a view from someone who actually lives with their van. They look so different when they've got their stuff in situ. It answers questions that run through your mind while watching others' vlogs in empty cvans, mo hos, vans etc.

    At the moment back and forth between Motorhome and Campervan, the Auto Trail V Line is on our shortlist, we like the wrap around settee and garage space. Ian thank you for sharing some very useful information. Keith & Michelle great video.

    Really useful interview, thank you, very kind of Ian to be so forthcoming about the pros and cons. Looks like a great campervan!
    I am an experienced caravanner considering a switch to a campervan/motorhome, and your insights were invaluable.
    Please may I ask about insulation in camper vans? I'm sold on the camper van concept for warmer weather touring. However, we'd also be using it for off season weekend breaks in Snowdonia. I have a Hymer caravan which is well insulated with what Hymer terms PUAL insulation, and I know that this is also sandwiched into the shell of Hymer motorhomes. However, I can't work out what kind of insulation you get with camper vans, and how they would cope with cold weather touring. Any advice gracefully appreciated!

      Hi Hywel, Many thanks for your kind words, delighted you enjoyed our video & found it useful. Unfortunately, we don’t have experience of camper vans, we’ve only ever had caravans, so we are unable to advise you on your query. It’s probably best to contact a dealer or manufacturer directly & they will be able to answer any queries you have. Hope this helps, with thanks again, Keith & Michele.

    Over the last 40 years I’ve had caravans (Tourers & Statics) and now a Motorhome. I feel there are pluses and minuses for both.
    If I could afford it I’d have a caravan for longer holidays staying on a site and a Motorhome for 2 to 3 days away or for touring around the country or abroad on an extended holiday. 🏖. But that’s. Lottery money 🤣😂 Great video👍🏼

    What’s all this about packing up and driving to grey water disposal point?! We just drain ours into a waste container (wastemaster etc) and take that when it’s full !!

    You don’t have to drive to the motorhome service point . Just take a waste master and use that as you would with a caravan .

      Hi Nerf Family UK, Good point but if storage space is limited that may not be an option for some. Thanks for watching 👍🏻 Keith & Michele.

      @Neff family,
      As the reviews have said.....exactly where would you store the waste master in a van conversion......suggest you tailor your comments to be relevant otherwise you could confuse those looking to purchase new

    • @firstmotorhome8024
      @firstmotorhome8024 4 года назад +4

      Graham Atsea
      No confusion here . I think it is entirely possible to store a waste master or even a collapsible bucket to drain off the grey waste as and when needed .
      Fiamma do a 23l trolley that doesn’t take up much room . My comment was made to prevent people thinking the ONLY way to drain grey waste on site would be to move the entire outfit to the motorhome service point . I think that constraint is more likely to put people off 👍🏻. In reality you don’t need to move at all . You wound just need to make a few trips to the disposal point . All this assuming you are not on a fully serviced pitch where obviously you wound have your own drain .

    • @grahamatsea3575
      @grahamatsea3575 4 года назад +2

      @@firstmotorhome8024 Fair point.....most vans even with a tiny storage space could take a folding bucket ........then just walk it to a disposal point ......couple of trips all done.....less faff than queuing in your van for the empty point.

      @@firstmotorhome8024 We have a smaller van conversion (6m) and we have no trouble taking an Aquaroll and Wastemaster - they stow outside when pitched up and in the washroom when travelling.

    Hi I have had over 40 years of caravanning experience and now moved to a camper van to support our photography exploits. I suspect that your missing the point in your intro.. no need to tow a car as the approach is somewhat different. We go exploring/sightseeing then stay there and move on the next day onto another exploration so don't cover the same ground backwards and forwards. I believe that this is the difference. It comes down to what you want to do with your leisure time. No right or wrong approaches
