@@palomaelegante The problem being they were just making a joke similar to saying something along the lines of "Maybe we can win this, oh, maybe not." I don't think they were saying the connection.
Fun fact: I once fortified the country club near Riverside, with walls completelly sorrounding it and everything, and one day when I was out to get some gas, I came back home after a long drive, went to sleep, woke up because of night terror, this music started playing, I went outside to go fish in the pool, AND MOST OF MY WALLS GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK DOWN BY THE ENTIRETY OF KENTUCKY.
I dare to say that it's not that the song plays a lot, it's that it stands out. 1. Because I think it's an absolute banger 2. The melody fits the theme of bunkering up in the base perfectly
July 15. You've done a decent job barricading your home in Muldraugh, deep in Knox Country. Earlier you heard the warning on the emergency channel, "Air Activity Detected." "I got time to finish up these last few barricades," you think, foolishly believing anything would go your way in this godforsaken place. As afternoon approaches, and you finish up your last barricade, you hear it. The air raid siren. Its deafening loud tone reaching across the whole town as you run to your rope sheet and climb it up to the second story of your home. The siren still goes off, reverberating through the home. Just as the noise dies down and you reach to open the curtains and climb down to check if you barricaded everything, the house shakes from the sounds of several bombs dropping throughout the neighborhood, and a jet passes right over your house, thankfully missing you. You sit there in your bedroom, frozen, unsure of what to do. Hours later, you move the curtains ever so slightly and watch as homes belonging to what were once your neighbors are now flaming, crumbling messes, as more zombies flood the streets from the sounds. It's muffled through the house, but there's no mistaking it, the sound of helicopter blades chopping through the air getting ever closer and closer. Frantically, you open up the window and pull up the sheet rope. If they see that they'll know for a fact you're in there. Just then you hear gunshots ringing out from the chopper, mowing down any zombies it sees. On the streets, through windows in houses, wherever it can find a target. Just in the knick of time you shut the window and the curtains and duck under the window, hoping it never saw you. It lingers for a good while, sounding like its picking off more and more zombies, but eventually it leaves, intent on clearing out other areas.. Maybe you shouldn't go outside for some time.
I can imagine some group seeing poor souls getting eaten alive because they tried to loot a warehouse. Man, this game and its atmosphere gives me the creeps.
I love this song, I'm used to play against small hordes at a time, so I heard this quite frequently and it has become one of my favourite tracks in the game
Imagine hearing the undead hordes, screams of the dying, gunshots, and the dead banging at your barricades. That is something I wanna hear. A mix of these things by some fan
When I think of Zomboid music, it's this track, this one *right here,* that first comes to mind. It really captures the desperate, dire, uphill battle feel of the game. Where you're just BARELY holding onto hope but the bleakness is still overwhelming. Where you're holding out hope that you'll find someone, find *anyone,* but that cold, gnawing feeling in the back of your mind that you're well and truly alone keeps gradually getting stronger. "Just this one more corner to turn, this one last swarm to avoid, and surely, *surely,* I'll find other survivors... right? I have to. I *have* to. I *can't* be the only one left. Just gotta make it to the next street, the next block. It's not over, it can't be. It just... it just can't be." The composers of this game's OST went above and beyond at solidifying the atmosphere to a perfect T.
best track. i love listening to the ost and imaging scenarios out to this. when i get better at animating, i might try to make a short animation of what kind of scenario could play out on each track
I like this song a lot, it feels like a song that plays when you are surviving. You won’t be thriving and the work is hard, there won’t be easy days ahead either. You’re tired and can feel the bags under your eyes, but you just have to keep going
I just imagine my character with Cowardly trait leveling himself up, watching Life and Living, but after finishing the books, still makes up excuses not to go back out there with the zeds roaming about
I fortified a fire station, knocking down the stairs, adding ropes to every window, adding metal sheets to every window and door on the first floor... this always played because after getting back home, I always drew a crowd. Luckily, I had enough sense to make sections separated by large walls to leave in a safe direction to clear them. Until one day I drove a little too fast and drove my car into the garage door, dying on impact.
20th day. I set my base in junkjard. Decided to finally get my car i left because of no fuel. On the way i heard helicopter and gunshots so hid in closest car. Suddenly I felt such a pain. Checked my chest - a bullet wound and lots of blood. Whats worse there are zombies coming. Quick bullet remove and go. Then i got bitten... I ran away, but that doesn't matter now- I am already dead...
I remember one time i left my game running alt tabbed while playing another game with friends (i was in my heavily fortified base with a garage and really nice walls) only to come back and find out that i forgot to pause and zomboids had torn apart everything. It was insanely lucky they didnt happen to get into the bedroom (where i was)
"FUCK! THE RAIDERS ARE LEADING THE ZOMBIE HORDES TO US "KEEP SHOOTING THEM! "HOLY SHIT! ITS AN ENTIRE ARMY HERE!" "DAMN IT! THE RAIDERSS TOOK OUT THE ARMORY!" "EVERYONE GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" You went out looting, constantly checking the radio. The voices of your friends yelling and screaming hits you with the initial shock that the only home we have, is gonna be gone. And so will half of the people we called friends...
This feels more like the main theme than the main theme does, personally. It's got build up, it's got dread, it's got this slightly badass undertone that hints at danger, but it's unclear enough that you can't really tell if it's for the survivors or the zombies. Just like in the game, you can be the biggest Billy Badass in Knox, but all it takes is one mistake and all that effort means nothing. The zeds are just as capable of tearing you apart as you are of smashing their skulls in. It all depends on who tags who first.
I don't know why people say this one is foreboding, I personally think it's hopeful, like it signifies that despite everything, you're making progress.
"I just, killed another human being, like he wasnt cursed like the others." "My god.... what have I done?" "I know they were trying to kill me but still.... This just feels so horrible."
