- Should I Buy a Second Home?
Listen to how ordinary people built extraordinary wealth-and how you can too. You’ll learn how millionaires live on less than they make, avoid debt, invest, are disciplined and responsible! Featuring hosts from the Ramsey Network: Dave Ramsey, Ken Coleman, Christy Wright, Rachel Cruze, Anthony ONeal and John Delony.
Brilliant, I didn’t know that Dave took international calls.
Finally some English representation on the Ramsey show :D
Yes, because we needed to understand the callers even less.
How are native English speakers hard to understand?! Especially those who still speak the Queen’s English 😁 🏴
375k in London, knowing the prices it’s probably a one bedroom. She’s done so well though!!
I think that’s in pounds too 😳
Yup! 2 bedroom max
Dr. John makes a great point. My wife is very frugal so before we got married, I bought some frivolous truck parts. I didn't even think about the intention behind it. I think a little bit of it was holding on to my past. But don't worry if your getting married. Marriage is a wonderful thing, as long as you pick a partner well and communicate! 😁
Dave teaching works everywhere no matter where you from
John- She sounds more smart…
Well after that feedback she genuinely is smarter. Haha
I think that was a wonderful response from John Delony, very insightful.
John, what a great catch! Definitely something to sit down and think about.
She also might be wanting to hedge against divorce, meaning if she buys it before marriage, it's just in her name and she wouldn't have to split it. But I don't know the laws in London so it might be different than in the US.
Her accent seemed to really throw them off at first haha! Certainly has the potential to be an appreciating asset, but my guess is they probably won't be crossing the pond as much as they expect. Not to mention when the water heater goes out or the faucet leaks, it's not something you can easily take care of yourself from 5,000 miles away!
Not a problem with good real estate agent
@@annajones9701 Real estate agents in the US don't fix faucets or water heaters, nor do they call someone else to fix them once a sale has been made. Maybe if she had a property manager to look after her property.
on 250k per year they cannot afford a home in LA and London.. they could afford a home in 1 location but it would need to be modest.
It feels like every single call into Ramsey has an American accent, this is an interesting change!
Happy 5th of July 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Stop your trucker statement
She’s making a ridiculous amount, she can afford it if she keeps grinding.
she is an actress lol
@@daaa8477 yeah her income can disappear tomorrow and the skills aren't really transferable
Maybe you should have a better choice of words, but we get what you mean.
@@michaelb.8953 What’s wrong with his choice of words?
@@michaelb.8953 ummm
Might have been nice to let the Doc chime in before Dave HUNG UP on her so we could have heard what she had to say. Dave, the king of HANGING UP ON PEOPLE...🤣
He doesn't hang up. He mutes them.
I’m British and I just realised how British I sound.
These guys have good chemistry
well done 150k as a regular actor (that is not the famous hollywood ones you see in the news). A lot of actors are struggling and cant even pay their bills!!!!
@Kuryan Thomas The rich and successful actors and actresses you are speaking of are the ones in the cult ( Freemasons).
It brings tears to my eyes when someone has that much cash
Yea but putting all that money into a house is not smart. U can invest that and make much more. I will be honest and don’t know interest rates on houses in England, I did see a 3.54% which is good and means you should invest a lump sum of money instead of paying cash for a house u will end up with much much more money
Why?
@@jimroscovius that’s amazing.
@@marktheshark2569 but you know its not necessarily following the Dave Ramsey plan. If you have the cash for it 10/10 they're gonna tell you to pay it off
I think he hit the nail on the head by saying she wants to plant a flag back home so she doesn’t lose her roots. But that’s counter productive to her goal of being married soon because this is really not a shared goal
Excellent! What are one's motives in purchasing 2nd home?
What a dumpster fire of a call. The caller wasn't bad. Nice guy John needs to get out of the house more and Dave missed a huge issue. Actors often get into trouble with real estate. Expecting to maintain expensive properties in both L.A. and London, while managing an acting career and a new marriage is just a bad idea. She's better off renting a modest flat in London, and seeing how the career and marriage go over the next year.
DR might have been aware of the hot London real estate market, meaning you could cut & run if need be without a haircut.
Perhaps -
So awesome hearing a brit calling in!!
“I make a quarter of a million on a bad year and have always been debt free all my life, but I need to call Dave to validate my worth/success.”
Jealous much?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 so right … ridiculous call…
😳 Can you buy cash for a 2nd home? Yes, then do it. No, then rent in LA.
Wth I’m from London but she sounds extra Londonish - Is this how we sound? 😂
Yes.
Yep
Buy in Hereford AZ!
Repping UK yay!
Buy it on a buy to let mortgage, London prices double every ten years. The rent would easily cover the mortgage and you can off set the mortgage against your taxes.
I broadly agree however the tax changes to BTL here in the UK really aren't kind to single unit BTL investors.
Love ya Dave but let Dr. John speak. Baby steps work every time. Thanks guys.
She should just airbnb the home out.
Dr John is the King of the simps. Even though he's married he just trips over top of himself to worship every woman who calls the show. 😂
Who hurt you?
@@superblump87 Nobody, he's speaking facts and we agree with him.
I so hate the word "simp".
Out of all the people who worked at Ramsey, Dr. John is the BIGGEST SIMP there is. No argument here.
I just so love the British accent!
You wouldn't if you heard the actual average British accent 🙉
I would like to buy a 2 in Lytle creek area near me
Dave learned something, lol.
Invest in London as great capital gain potential. London better potential.
Happy Independence Day everyone Thank a Veteran for our freedom 🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸
Buy n air Bnb it.
Make it an airbnb, hire a airbnb manager and now it's an asset.
Boom, that’s the real answer!
It is easier said that done.

LA?! On my....high crime, high taxes, high smog, crowded......yikes
Exactly. Why not Nevada. It’s close enough without all of the above disadvantages.
LA also has 10x the magic of almost any other city in America which makes those other factors worth it for me, especially if you have $
@@neelkrishna Magic?? Maybe so....wealthy people living in their pretend world of fun and sun ignoring the misery which surrounds them.
There are nice areas in LA
@@maryjones6115 I can’t tell if you’re super right leaning with your original comment or super left leaning with your anti wealthy people comment 😂
Ridiculous call….
no. one is enough.
on average, the career of an actress is pretty short. in 5-10 years, she won't be working in theatre anymore.
Can’t a second home be an investment and not just a toy?
The life of a real Brexit geezer
I bet she meant $3.75M
Maaaaaaarvelous diction on this actress!
The caller sounds like she has her stuff together. So she can't be stupid enough to buy anything in L.A
Yall sound fennny per Dave
You have to sell the car dear.
Rent a home or apartment in London so you have flexibility.
Hang on, who is she? If she is earning $ we would know her.
Dave is getting nervous....
The real question is, who is she?
Even a proper jolly ole English women have houses or flats on the brain. Stiff upper lip love.
Why is she saying lb not dollars per Southern ppl lol
