What about water seeping thru the floor? 🤔

You can get water through cracks and expansion cuts in the floor. Also if the sump pump fails the basin will overflow.

No mention of leaks through tie rod holes which is more common

I’d like to know how does installing a sump pump which isn’t cheap stop the problem on the floor?

Downspouts from the roof are bad for this if they are not extended far enough away from the home

Yes....and in my case with a old house from 1930 - our downspouts were made of clay pipe....and over time they cracked...causing big leaks in basement from the top ceiling of basement. I cut the downspout and put a temporary hose extending the downspout away from house..... problem solved

We recently had rather heavy rains, and observed a wet spot (~6in in diameter) in front of our bathroom. It never dries off, we saw it first time like 3-4 days ago. I'll see if it goes away when the rains stop. But what it can be? No wet spots on walls or ceiling. Can it be some kind of foundation leak? Thank you for the informative film.

Same here. Whenever it's a down pour this happens to me. I'm terrified of my floor cracking

I have a sump pump that I heard workingafter the snow melted a few days ago. I noticed just a small amount of water coming in the bottom corner wall. Should I be concerned?

I just had a similar issue last night as we got over 2.5 inches of rain overnight. The sub pump bulb seemed stuck and I activated it by touching it. Had water come in through my wall which was not much, but enough to scare me. My local DEP said my neighborhood sewers were fine but to make sure the sub pump was working w/ no restriction. I’m assuming it was to much rain in one night because it was I’ve never seen water com in through a basement wall before. Perhaps your circumstance was due to the similar issue

There is a fourth way when your contractor drills a hole through the basement wall for water supply for the lawn the pipe is smaller than the hole and the contractor does not know how to plug it so it doesn’t leak.

Our sump well was overflowing and water showed up through the carpet throughout the basement in various parts although it was dry in between, was wondering if maybe the water table had risen and come through various cracks?

We never had water in our basement until my husband commented that we have a really dry basement. Seriously! Now every time it even slightly rains we get inches of water. City just put new gas lines in our neighborhood. Could they have hit a water line that is causing our problem? If so, I would think water would come in all the time ...not just when it rains?!
