For God so LOVED THE WORLD - not just "the Elect". And Jesus took the punishment FOR ALL - not just "for the Elect". The Gospel is not "limited atonement". It is "tetelestai" - PAID IN FULL! HE loved us even while we were still HIS *enemies* .
JESUS SAID: Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, LOVE your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Witnessing is probably one of the best things you can do, even tho ministers diminish the idea of people witnessing for the work Christ did in their lives. MANY ministers believe they're the only ones who should testify, because they believe they are more Holy than the people in the church... Ministers today want you to tell everyone how great their preacher is, instead of how great God is...
Jhn 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: Jhn 3:15 That WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever Believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the WORLD to condemn the world; but that the WORLD through him might be saved.
The capitalization of whosoever is unnecessary. People tend to emphasize that word in the text, and emphasize the implied ambiguity of the word whosoever to insert traditions into the text that aren't there. The Greek says "every one believing". That in no way, as opposed to popular tradition, implies a universal ability to believe, or contradicts the doctrine of God having a divine decree.
Romans 3:23-24 KJVS For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Ephesians 2:8-9 KJVS For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. We are saved by Grace through faith, we are justified by Grace
Mark 1:13-15 KJVS And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. [14] Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, [15] And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Amen!
