This has always been one of my favorite mods. It's so very fun just setting up people with specific traits together so you can see how they will work (and not work) together. I made someone who was a model from a glitter world, filling her body up with multiple bionic body parts so she would have this eternal young image about her. She had no skill in anything except her social abilities and I put a couple points put into animals as a hint to her loneliness and her pet cat being the only companion she had. One of her traits I gave her was beautiful, so basically the only thing she could rely on was her wits, having no other practical abilities to start with. Put that on the "Losing is fun" difficulty in ironman mode and just see if you got what it takes to survive.
That sounds like a great story Sik3xploit :) How did it turn out???? I need to know now :) Did she come across some very practical pawns that could create and run the colony while she was the face of it, trading with passers by for exobitent profit because of her traits???
@@AussieBattleCat It makes it very easy to get others to like her of course, and as you assumed she easily was always the best representative of her colony in my games. She will get good relationships by trying to entertain visitors pretty easily too. So if you think about it then it wouldn't be too hard to survive, being someone who has much skill in making people see her way. But in Rimworld, her lack of combat and medicine abilities is a major Achilles heel. She can get people to stay... if the right kind of people even bother to show up. It's really a roll of the dice there. But it is pretty much smooth sailing after getting others to not be my pawns but HERS lol. I haven't started using her again since the Ideology DLC came out, but I suppose I should. Her type of character could be put together for an even more interesting kind of story with Ideology. Maybe I can come back again and deliver just what kind of idealism I put together that would feel matching to her.

The only things that I think that prepare carefully does better than character editor is the individual colonists relationship tab and the point system

One of the best mods for starting a new save. I have several presets saved for various starting conditions and story/rpg situations. I am curious what light mod gives you the thin light I've seen in your vids. Looks like a thin standing lamp.

A small band of pawns escaped are essentially tribal tech level, but don't know how to build really anything except the most basic things (zero starting research, and ignoring anything that you're allowed to build without research that's above the lowest tech level until I reach that tech level). It's fun to start from basically nothing and become the Emperor/Empress of an empire that's taken over the world.
I love this mod, especially being able to make the perfect starting colony, But I also agree with you when you said that it doesn't ensure success, I had 10 people who were mixed out In shooting and melee and everyone of them got wiped out
@@MountainDanGaming Oh no mate, that sucks, if you are meaning the bugs than this is from the wiki to help you in the future :) From WIKI: Insect hives spawn in an area below an Overhead Mountain and within 30 tiles of a colony structure. Other factors such as rock walls and light have some influence on their spawn point of choice. Temperatures under -8°C (17.6°F) gradually reduce the spawn chances, with the chance dropping to zero at -17°C (1.4°F). A well-lit base discourages insects from nesting, though it can still happen.

Hey I subscribed to the mod of the stream workshop but the mods don’t appear in the mod folder in main page of the game. I also tried downloading it manually but it doesn’t work. Can you help?

you can install any of the mods mentioned in this video from the rimworld section in the steam workshop :), just click subscribe and it will auto download, then you will need to enable the mod from the mod list inside rimworld :) I hope this helps Ahmad :)

prepare carefully has the better menu for traits and health
Yeah totally, I guess its much nicer as well to be able to pick you own traits for the colonists :)
