Thank you very much for the video. In a moment of madness I just bought about 10 fleeces and some tools intending to make yarn. Never done that before. Hopefully with so much information on Internet and videos I will get there. Thanks a lot.
Enjoyed seeing the fiber blend and making the rolags on the carders. I always wonder what will give me the color blend I am looking for so this is helpful. Thank you
I am so excited for this video. I zllready do almost every skill set with fiber arts. The next th I ng i want to learn is spinning. 💞 thank you for the inspiration.
@@knittingthestash Yes, I pre-drafted those red dreadlocks I made. They spun up well on my charkha. I'm going for the fluid movements for the long draw. My fiber-preparation skills have dulled the past months.
I am curious. Sometimes it seems the words puni and rolag are used interchangeably. But you are using puni as a type of rolag in your description. What is the difference betweeen the two? Thanks!
Hi Rhonda! As I understand it, puni is a term for this type of fiber prep used with cotton. Rolag is the term used for wool . . . thus "puni-style" . . . but I would love to know if I what I've read is correct or if you've heard other ways of defining/describing these preps?
@@knittingthestash Thanks for the reply!! I really had not researched it. I just new that I had seen both words used in a seemingly interchangeable way. I will have to do some reading one of these days :)

You'll do really well--it'll be a fun adventure :)
Thank you for the great tutorial. I'm just starting on my spinning journey (drop spindle only, for the moment) and have been wanting to try rolags.
Liz, You are most welcome! Please let us know how you get on!

Oh good1 So glad to hear it!
Cool instructions and great video. Glad to see you doing what you love to do!
Thank you for making this. My rolags are usually thicker. It’s good to know alternate ways to do it.
:)
Thank you for the tutorial. My first Paradise Fibers box was Yaktober; and I wasn't sure what to do with the Sari silk ... and now ... I know!
Hi Cindy, that's great news! Enjoy!! That box is spectacular!
How do you keep your merino punis from becoming dreadlocks? Mine come out so tight that they are difficult to spin.
have you tried predrafting? That usually works for me :)
