    Thanks for this! Prepooing has helped me to create a tangle free hydrated base before washing. However, after listening to another RUclipsr, I realized that using a sulfate shampoo helps your hair to get all the excess buildup off the scalp and strands which causes deep conditioners to absorb so much better. Before using a sulfate shampoo, I noticed my hair felt so dry after deep conditioning because my strands were coated with a film of buildup, but since I started prepooing and using sulfate shampoo, my hair literally drinks all of the conditioner and NO MORE EXCESS TANGLES!!

      @@witkneemenyon5612 Thank you. I will have to try that product. I've been transitioning for 4 months now and my hair tangles after I shampoo with my sulfate free shampoo and I condition and then deep condition and I still have tangles (I am using alikay natural products) I am thinking because my hair maybe too moisturized from those products. I don't know...I am still trying to find my way during this transitioning phase. So maybe a sulfate shampoo may just work for me.

    I didn't realize that I was prepooing. I have low porosity hair and I really need the moisture. I use grapeseed oil and peppermint essential oil, a plastic bag and my satin scarf. I do it at least once a week because I live in Arizona. My hair is growing like crazy! I want hair like yours. Thanks for this information. Helped me loads.

    My hair began falling out and thinning because I am beyond menopause age. It also had moisture overload, fine type 3 b/c and high porosity. My curls would mot retain definition. I have been following you since your pregnancy with you daughtef. January 2019 I added pre poo to my routine and now see positive results. I use a mixture of oils only, i.e. caster, olive, tea tree, johoba, almond, vitamin E and to stop the constant shedding onion and garlic oils. I leave oils in under E
    2 shower caps for at least an hour with a warm heat cap. The old lady ba!d spots have filled in and shedding has stopped. My hair is getting thicker and my natural curl pattern has returned. I am most thankful for your pre poo suggestions. When I was younger I had a lot of fine, long hair that looked very thick like yours. At 62 now I know it will never be as thico as it was throughout my earliy fifties, but I will continue this weekly along with deep conditioning for this entire year to see if it thickens and grow to shoulder length as it seemed to stall below my ears.. I am also doing a no heat - flat iron challenge. I will let you know my results. Can you do a video on high porosity hair and suggest best product. Perhaps do a friend's hair with this type. Thank you.

      There is a form of hair loss called telogen effluvium. It often happens after a traumatic event on the body although there is a chronic form more often associated with nutritional deficiencies. The time gap between your surgery and the start of your hair loss would indicate TE could be a possibility (though I am not attempting to diagnose anything here, just suggesting a possible explanation for your hair loss). Hopefully as your body recovers your hair loss will slow down and new hair can start to grow back in. If your hair loss doesn't slow down then a visit to a doctor would probably be a good idea if possible.
      Again I hope your hair starts to recover soon and that you generally are recovering well.

    Since oil prevents other moisturizes and hair stuff from penetrating the hair, if I used olive oil like the night before when I go to shampoo and conditioner my hair will it be effective?

    I enjoy pre-pooing with a good rich co-wash. What do you think? It conditions and loosens the products in your hair. It starts the cleaning process while detangling and conditioning at the same time! I leave it on overnight and start my wash day by rinsing it out and applying my shampoo!

      Yes you can. There can be many reasons honestly. Look at the products you use and make sure your not being rough around the edges.

    My hair go through stages and have really dry scalp. Summer and winter can be the worst. I've started back prepooing but I have braids so it's a little hard. What are recommendations for dry scalp? Do you "grease" or put oil on your scalp throughout the week after styling? I never see you do that in your videos, but you don't need to.

    • @JM-qg9bo
      @JM-qg9bo 5 лет назад +2

      Maybe try adding some oil to the water you use to spritz your hair daily. Also make a separate spritz bottle with water, a little leave in conditioner and oil. Use the 2nd one 1-2 times a week.

    Watch & listen 2 the entire vide is prepooing the same as a hot oil treatment? 😄

    • @jeanettejbeauty6374
      @jeanettejbeauty6374  5 лет назад +3

      Dana Hudson thank you 😊 they are very similar. With pre pooing it’s ALWAYS done prior to shampooing, there’s different products you can use, prepoos can be left overnight, etc. hot oil treatments can be done whenever (before wash day, in between washing hair, and right after deep conditioning) honestly AND not always rinsed out after. Also hot oil treatments need to be heated up and prepooing doesn’t. In addition, hot oil treatments are oils only not honey, conditioners/deep conditioner, or store bought prepeoos. They both really help with healthy scalp and hair.

    I've been trying to get my hair in order but I just can't seem to do that. It's been 2 years and I still can't find a Shampoo and a Conditioner that works for me. Each shampoo that I've tried strips my hair so much the conditioner won't even help bring back that moisture. I've gotten to the point where i want to cut it all off. Also, where I'm living in the Caribbean hair products are sooo expensive it's hard to purchase 3 and 4 different shampoo and conditioner to see what works best for me.
    My hair doesn't stretch as much either. I really want my hair to get tangle free and flourish the way your hair flourishes.
    Any suggestions with what shampoo and conditioner to use?
    My regimen is
    I pre-poo when I remember 😑
    Shampoo
    Condition/Detangle
    Deep condition
    Loc method
    And style
    I'm at the verge of giving up on the natural hair journey. Please help!!

      Shines Shallow maybe look into the ingredients that are in your products. Cheap products are cheap for a reason. Some of these ingredients do more harm than good. Maybe start making your shampoos and add oils to your deep conditioners. For me, I don’t use any products that have sulfates, silicones, mineral oil, or synthetic fragrances.

    What is the point of preparing if your shampoo is meant to strip everything out if your hair. How is your product buildup going to be removed if you are now adding more on top of your strands? Isnt it going to create more buildup. Also, won't a good shampoo just defeat the purpose and remove everything you added to your hair?

    • @jeanettejbeauty6374
      @jeanettejbeauty6374  3 года назад +1

      Crystal Violet shampoo is meant to cleanse the scalp and hair. Shampoo are intended to get rid of build up as well. By prepooing, you actually treat your hair (an actual treatment) to avoid any harshness shampoo can cause. Once you prepping and rinse with warm water it helps treat your hair, can be strengthened even moisturized just depends on what’s in the treatment. Please watch the video in its entirety to fully understand 💕
