For Animal Kingdom, they could make it South America and add some more actual animals to the animal kingdom such as Sloths, Jaguars and other animals from the rain forest.
The Animal Kingdom announcement is a big improvement over both their previous idea and what's there now. I honestly didn't expect anything more than a through-and-through IP land, so I'm pleasantly surprised they went with a more general theme of tropical America, especially since I love Africa and Asia. Encanto and Indy don't seem like great thematic fits, but I'm willing to wait and see on actual execution. I really hope they include a South America animal walking trail or some additional details like that.
I 100% agree. I’m very encouraged by the non-IP theming of the land, and I think it could introduce some very exciting animal exhibits. The land itself looks like a great fit for Animal Kingdom. I’m very interested to see what they do with Encanto and Indy to have them fit the park overall.
They aren't actually building these ideas. There are just Blue Sky concepts that haven't been green lit or approved. They most likely will never get built. Over 99% of ideas pitched at Imagineering don't see the light of day.
Here's what Disney should be doing for Disney's Animal Kingdom: 1) They should replace the Dino-Rama section of Dinoland USA with attractions themed to the Ice Age Franchise 2) They should be utilizing the free area of land located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch for South America 3) They should have a Zootopia attraction in Rafiki's Planet Watch
Interesting ideas! Animal Kingdom has so many expansion areas. It would make sense to develop those rather than replace a land so they could add capacity.

I watched the D23 stream and I found it was all B.S. Disney has no more imagination left in the company. Whoooo hooooo more meet and greets, a new refreshment stand and maybe the hatbox ghost that was announced last year. A reskin of the dinosaur ride, another projection on the tree of life. OMG everything sucked.
I thought that the Zootopia thing was just a projection show too at first, but they clearly mentioned a Clawhauser animatronic is coming. And the concept art looks like a 3D movie, so that at least will be a show where It’s Tough to Be a Bug is. I’m sorry none of the announcements worked for you. Thanks for sharing your opinion!

A lot of Disney fans don't understand everything that is mentioned at D23. So the Dinoland overhaul is not an announcement. They aren't officially going forward with it. It's just a BlueSky idea. If won't actually happen unless it gets approval and funding, which is hasn't, and mostly likely wont. Last year bloggers talked about the Moana and Zootopia revamp of Dinoland as being something that was actually approved, but it wasn't.
That's a very good point. I think Disney fans aren't used to seeing Blue Sky concepts on stage after years of these keynote presentations being used to announce green lit projects. I personally like being able to see behind the curtain a bit and get a glimpse at in-development ideas, even if they never happen. But it's definitely risky if most of the things shown on stage don't come to fruition.

If Indiana Jones replaces Dinosaur, I’m going to be very conflicted. I loved the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland, but I love Dinosaur too. 🤷🏻♀️
