It was sad to hear the news today about Carl Weathers. Like many of you, I grew up with the Rocky movies, and sadly today part of our childhood died. These were more than just movies to us, and the characters were real people. Many of us grew up with Apollo Creed. Carl Weathers did such a tremendous job bringing Apollo to life. I don't believe any other actor could've done him justice, which is a testament to the charismatic nature and talent Carl Weathers exuded. Legends never truly die!

This one hits hard. Carl was nothing short of a legend. He gave so many awesome performances and played so many characters with awesome names. Apollo Creed, Action Jackson, Hurricane Smith, Fortune Dane, Sundog, etc. RIP to The Champ.
Yeah, terrible news 😞. I also remember Carl Weathers on an episode of Starky & Hutch. He played a villain and he stole the show. Always great charisma and personality 👍

@@bmcarpetcleaningandfloorca4410 I know brother. I re-watched the complete series of Street Justice then and I'm so glad I did now that Carl is gone. He was a class act, one of the last of the finest. I don't know if you saw it yet, but Stallone put out a really nice video talking about how much he valued Carl and how much Carl meant to him.

The first Rocky I ever saw was Rocky III. I just rewatched that scene they were training together, then hugged one another in the water after their race and I just lost it. He'll be missed.

Apollo Creed is one of the all-time great movie characters and Predator is one of my favorite action movies. Action Jackson is criminally underrated and so entertaining with Weathers as the lead.
He deserve much more credit for his work.

I remember going to the theater as a kid watching Rocky and hating Apollo Creed, that's how great of an actor he was...R.I.P. Apollo
Weathers had one of the best (if not the best) well rounded physiques out of all the action stars, got me in the gym as a kid. He looked like he could have been chiselled from rock.
I first saw a photo of Carl Weathers in a book called the Iron Guru , a Vince Gironda training book and Vince said he could have been a pro bodybuilder, but he took the acting route. Thanks for the tribute video . And RIP Mr Weathers.

I'm truly saddened by the passing of Carl Weathers he was completely believable as Apollo Creed and seemed as if he were a real life person and not just a character onscreen. One of my favourite scenes with him is from Rocky II at the peess conference where the rematch is confirmed after Rocky answers the reporter's question asking does he think he can beat him this time and Apollo gets all serious and says "Come November. You've mine! " such a great scene that people hardly mention but it shows that Apollo means business.
He really brought that positive energy, and it leaps off the screen. His performances are preserved forever, but the best way to make sure his legacy lives on is for all of us to try and carry that same positivity into our lives (as much as we can).
I grew up watching Rocky , Happy Gilmore . This hit me hard. Thank you for the memories . We all going to miss him. Rest in peace champ😢

Wasn't the best actor I seen, but he sold Apollo and Chubbs. He entertained me for years, and he'll entertain my kids and their kids and so on. RIP Carl 😊

He played opposite of two Heavyweights Arnold and stallone at there peak there height. No one else can say that He was great at it memorable performances.

Breakout for Carl Weathers was as the Master of Disaster Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies. Then another Solid turn as Dillon in Predator. He passed away at 76, ironically Rocky came out in 1976 and that also happens to be the year of my birth.
I couldn't believe it when I saw in the newspaper 😢i was a fan of Carl such a shame. I recently also lost my nephew now Carl😢
Man, a real shame he's passed. Great in Rocky and one of the most iconic characters in that franchise and of the 80's in general. Best known for that role. Seems like every year slowly my childhood actors i grew up watching are disappearing. Gone but not forgotten, RIP dude, condolences to the family.
I also saw him in an Episode of The 6 Million Dollar Man 'One of our running backs'while he used to be a professional Footballer.

A legend. I rewatched Action Jackson today and forgot how much fun it was. It's also got a massive selection of 80s era action film character actors and stunt guys who pop up everywhere. It's ridiculous how many recognisable alumni pop up from films like Predator, Die Hard, Commando, Lethal Weapon, Terminator and many more (as well as Biff from Back to the Future). Another example of Weathers' action man career not hitting the heights his talents deserved. He was great in a whole range of genres but with the physique, presence and charisma I feel like he deserved to be rivalling a lot of action stars of the time.

RIP Carl Weathers. He's the reason I call the Din Djarin "Mando", he made that nickname for the Mandalorian sound cool. My favorite Carl Weathers scene? Just one? Come on, man! Just 1... the ending of Rocky III where he & Rocky are bantering back-&-forth before having the 3rd match that Rocky confirms Apollo won. It was such a light, fun, manly scene that solidified his & Rocky's newfound friendship.

RIP Carl. It is always cool to see the photos of Carl and JCVD together. That one on the set of Predator you, VS, showed in this video. And there are other ones from the Pound Of Flesh premier in 2015 of them smiling and embracing each other. It is very cool to see people that one admires and respect from afar together and know each other personally.
