I've maintained for years that Sony's anti-piracy measures helped kill the Vita. If they didn't use those stupid proprietary memory cards, more people would have bought a Vita. They were so desperate to stop piracy that they alienated millions of potential legitimate purchasers.

I understand that steps have to be taken against piracy, but we spend all this money on games (even digital, that charge you the same price, where we should get a discount for not having manufacturing, shipping, etc., that a physical copy carries!) and consoles that are never truly ours. We seem to rent them now. Like most things nowadays on EVERYTHING. This is how they can still re-sell old games, all about the $$$ in the end. Also on the online network memberships (Xbox & PS). What if I'm tired of listening to little kids talk about my mother and would like to play single/story mode. With C-19 people lost their jobs, can't afford to play online. Why does my game have to log on to verify to let me play?

I guess the day that big companies' heads finally REALLY understand the importance and relevance of old games, old music and old movies have for people today, things will start to change. Also, online stores and digital copies are increasingly showing the importance of physical media. I hope that the physical media market never dies, otherwise, we will always be at mercy of the fact that online stores can be closed at any time because they are no longer financially interesting for companies.

4:00 - It COULD be the same, if Sony would put full, real backwards compatibility in their consoles instead of the garbage attempt we have now. But the PS4 can only play the older games that are on its store and the PS5 easily has the power to play everything before it, but Sony chose not to include it-even as a premium option.

      2: yes
3: check out Mr Mario's guides here on youtube. Very clear, thorough and cringeless tutorials on how to setup your systems with whatever your ps3 is capable of running. If you got a fat ps3 or an early slim you can install cfw. The slim 2 and ps3s marked cech3000 are only capable of running hen.
4: there are sites. Check out reddit and their ps3 homebrew pages for answers. All I wanna say is that there are two really awesome sites that allow you to download ps3 and Vita content straight from the Sony servers to your PC. There are even apps that allow you to download and install right inside your console from the Sony servers. Game preservation is of paramount importance to me as a 30+yr gamer with multiple decades of games that should be available to go back to whenever and be passed on. This recent retro surge is all the proof you need to see that ... Games and consoles are works of art that have become very much a part of our history and who we are, and they need to be treated accordingly... Not to mention the amount of money, passion, time, and sheer numbers of people it takes to create some of these works of art... Only to have them be a limited time availability?! It's ridiculous! Gaming has gotten to the point where it's just as big and impactful as movies, music, and any other forms of entertainment. Arguably more so in a lot of cases. Every title, down to the crappy 0.99¢ eshop games should be fully preserved. Like I said, they're not just games anymore, they're a part of our history and who we are. Where we've been and where we're going... These companies need to be pushed into prioritizing this. They need to treat these games with the respect they deserve... The arrangement is they give us what we want and we give them our money! Well, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo... Full game preservation is what we want!! Get it done!!

MJR could you put in the video description a list of the games that you showed footage for? Some of those driving and RPG games looked great. Would love to add them to the backlog...

Thank you again for another great video. I'm a little late to the party, I somehow missed this one. Your footage is always great and as in most of your videos, I don't know all the games shown. Thanks to you I learned to love shoot 'em ups, but haven't played all the good ones yet. Can you please tell me, what game is played at 11:57. The following Platformer at 12:02 looks also pretty nice.

The battery issue will be a class action lawsuit if they don’t fix it, and I suspect they know that.

The legality of it has been covered. Basically they can't be sued for money, but maybe for them to fix the issue. I think the real issue would be players abandoning them in droves to Xbox

Yeah. I was finally going to bite the bullet and buy a lot of vita titles on the Christmas holiday sale because I figured they were going to close the store soon but there was no christmas sale. At least we got an extension.
