    This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!

    I flew with China Airlines on a recent trip from San Francisco to Taipei in August. I was highly impressed by their ground staff, in-flight cuisine, entertainment options, and, above all, their attentive and friendly cabin crew. I wholeheartedly recommend China Airlines to anyone.

    Recently on board on CI , KUL - TPE on their B777, I am totally amazed on the economy seat and cabin they offered. The cabin is really cozy and roomy with the wooden design, and perfect cabin service. Food is superbly delicious, and the seat recline is very generous. I would say this 4 hour flight is amazing!

    I took this exact route just under two months ago in economy. The China airlines routing had 2 layovers rather than a single one for the same price, but given China airlines reputation I took it. And wow, was it impressive for economy. Good service even in the last last row, good IFE, good seats, and great catering from TPE. For a smaller person like me their standard economy is better than domestic US business class. And the Oriental lounge in TPE was quite good for a priority pass lounge, even considering the higher standard in Asia.

    Flew with them PE from AMS to BNE twice in 2019. Excellent service and hard product. Last minute flight in 2009 in economy on an old 747 was appalling in every respect. New aircraft, service levels and general management is very evident today. They are contemplating a name change...not sure how advanced this is. Great review. Thanks from Brisbane.

    I absolutely love how the Taiwanese have embraced the dark moody stylish decor ideas which is so unlike a typical Chinese undertone of bright red and gold. And I think China Airlines and Starlux have some of the world's most beautiful premium cabins ever. I'm excited as next week I'll fly CI on their A350 in business class for the first time. I cannot wait! I used to fly them a lot on my younger years between SIN HKG when they were still in their blue red stripes... so I've done their A300s and 747SPs to death. Lol yes I'm that old. Asian full service carriers tend to have top notch catering. Did you fly this route in Feb Mar? I did a similar routing ICN HKG BKK, and the smog literally stretched from Hong Kong to Bangkok. Lol... enjoyed the video as always!

    Nice one Kevin.. it’s always refreshing when a carrier bothers to get ‘cattle class’ right .. also refreshing when a RUclipsr reports on ‘cc’ , and not always on the premium cabins .. 👍… I’d be interested to see a report on their long haul experience.. I’m talking 12 hours plus .. but so far I’m sold on them .. I’ve been a committed EVA Air fan for a long time .. maybe it ultimately boils down to the relevant prices at booking time ..? 😅.. 🙏

    Great overview, thanks! Have been tempted to try them on their daily BNE-AKL service - might have to give them a go. That airport lounge looked really nice and love the aircraft cabin finishes. What's your thoughts on a side by side comparison of CI & SQ Y class seat on the A350? I love SQ but their Y seats on the A350 are truly horrible for anything over 2 hours

    • @tfft
      @tfft  8 месяцев назад

      I've only been in the SQ Y seat on their regional A350 (but was also recently in the 777 Y seat) and yes I agree, their seats are surprisingly very tight and cramped. Surprises me that an airline like SQ wouldn't at least offer a few forward rows with 10cm of extra pitch or something similar. Thanks for watching 🩴
