You should really complain about the drums to your landlord. That's what practice rooms are for. Not regular flats. We have someone who just got a drumset in our street. He plays with open windows so the entire neighbourhood has the pleasure of listening to him. I am bedbound due to disability so I can't leave my flat to locate where exactly the noise is coming from. If I could I would definitely file a noise report. I will wait to see if another neighbour does if not I'll have to call the police. How can people be so selfish and unconsidering?! 😭
omg that's so frustrating 😒 seriously if they're gonna do that they should at least try to soundproof the room they're playing in or something, not play with the windows wide open. Though soundproofing won't really help when you're on the second floor and someone lives below you 🙄 my landlord doesn't own the unit above so I don't know if there's anything he could even do about it. I guess I could always go talk to the guy but confrontation scares me haha
Not me wondering who the new design client is 😂❤ I actually loved the design with me video, it speaks to the internal process of creative people and normalizes sometimes hating your own work at first but through to something that you will like eventually. There’s this weird belief that artists just simply “see the angel in the marble and set him free” but in my experience it’s way more like doubting, experimenting, and keeping yourself moving regardless. I’ve never heard of Magic mind before but I will check them out 🥰
absolutely, it's way more doubting and experimenting in my experience too. I'm glad that came through in the design video 😊 and yess I can't wait to do a "design with me" video for your website! 🤩 already recording my progress on it haha
Lol you definitely do lose a lot of the freedoms you had after you have kids. I know not everyone has the same experience, but it was definitely hard for me to get back into a creative mindset. Although now I feel like I have so much momentum in my art business and I don't think I would've been in this place if it weren't for motherhood to motivate me. Also I often think back on my clubbing days too 😆 Like it still sounds so fun but I just know I'd be way too tired now to try to do that again haha.
I love hearing your perspective that your motherhood motivates you and gives you momentum, that is very encouraging to me. and I knoww I'd be too tired to stay at the club past like 10pm 😔 hahah
Permission to go to a dance club in your 30s. I'm 35 and no one is stopping me at the door saying I'm too old. I know I'm not cool but I don't care. Neither are the younger people at the clubs, tbh.
