Now this song is no longer one of sadness and pain, but one of flourishing memories and rebirth

That was really awesome of Mint, especially with the one year anniversary of that song and its immediate fallout quickly approaching. It's such a bittersweet song, knowing just how close we came to losing Doki forever, but I'm so happy that they were able to make a happier memory out of it. However, it was taken down by management due to not getting permissions from ex-Niji livers, despite getting other permissions and the video likely being in development for a while. It was the last post by Selen, as she would eventually be hospitalized due to reasons not allowed on RUclips, and subsequently terminated by Niji, with extremely negative backlash from the community; management said that they took down the video, then said Selen lied in saying management took down the video, for example. Hence, the song has had the negative light that Mint said, due to its association with a major termination, but also the unraveling of Nijisanji's reputation in the West and their EN branch. This is a summary, as I had only just gotten into the industry at the start of the year, a little after it occurred, and it was nearly a year ago.
Doki and Mint are ex employees of Nijisanji and Doki got terminated there because of a LOT of problems with management, which made Doki try to take the "easy way out" if you know what I mean. Anyway this lead to the termination of Doki in there and not long after Mint asked for graduation, and now they happy. Dokibird was once known as Selen Tatsuki of Nijisanji EN. During her last moments before her termination, she uploaded a cover of Last Cup of Coffee by Lilypichu. As far as she knew, everything should've been cleared. Niji being Niji decided to remove the video due to certain "permissions of old faces being in the video" or some stupid shit like that. As far as anyone knows, it was cleared after a lot of back and forth, but was still pulled. She would try to off herself because of everything behind the scenes and her cover being removed. Let's just be thankful her attempts failed. Everything wouldn't be the same without her (as well as Nijisanji would've found a way to sweep this issue under the rug somehow us knowing them at this point).
In the before, at the end of last year, Doki's corpa PL released a music video of Last Cup of Coffee on Christmas. It was shortly thereafter pulled down without warning or any useful public statement by management. People started sending emails to the official contact channels to ask why, and the response recieved was copy-paste to basically everyone, and also mentioned this being a permissions issue, though Doki had obtained permissions from the rights holder quite awhile earlier. (Speculation is that it was a bureaucratic internal permissions issue, either about the song itself or about the likenesses of ex-company talents, but I don't believe we ever got full clarification.) Doki (as Doki) tweeted about being out an exceptional amount of money, and also opened up her small shop at the time early to try and get some funds moving. Also, as her corpa PL made a tweet aplogizing for the song being privated by management, and giving fans permission to reupload it, thus implying it may not come back. After that tweet, she was radio silent until Dec 27, when she made another tweet about being in the hospital after an accident. Another tweet in the 31st saying she was discharged. Some tweets on her account as Doki gave confirmation of this matter. We now know that this was not, per se, an accident. Then her corporate identity's twitter was silent for 2 months (with no word from the company either); after a few more tweets as Doki that account was also silent. Everyone was getting understandably fuckin worried, given the context of her hospitalization and people already starting to realize that it may not have been an accident. Then, at like 3am in early Feb, all her PL's stuff started being removed from RUclips, etc. Her twitter got locked, and such. ( I believe fans who were already antsy did manage to save archives of most everything on youtube, at least. ) Then the company posted a termination notice, which it was later revealed is also how Doki learned she was terminated. Not two days later in Feb 7, she came back to streaming as Dokibird. She had gone from like 30k yt subs to 400k in that time as Dragoons (and rubbernecking tourists, admittedly like myself at that time) jumped over to support her. ... there is a lot more to unpack after that, especially around that time, but Doki consistently behaved with incredible grace and professionalism in what had to be an incredibly stressful and painful time in her life. With the support of a lawyer and the small team she started building, she hit the ground running and responded to all the shit flying around with impressive composure and wisdom- far more than her previous employer's travesty of a PR team. So, Last Cup of Coffee, which was not intended to be a graduation song at that time, was a spark that lit a hell of a conflagration, the effects of which are still rippling through the vtubing community now. And it almost turned into a final goodbye. But now, as Mint says. This is a much better memory to hold of it. Anyway that's why everyone at the concert flipped their shit when they realized that's the song they were about to sing.
