I first learned of John List many years ago on a John Walsh show. I was quite shocked. After List was adjudicated a movie was made starring an elderly? Bob Newhart. He did an excellent job! 👏 But I am still perplexed. In the years since, it, obviously, has become much more common. Sad to say. Most I have heard of do it so they can start a new life with a new woman. I'll have to check on men who also kill themselves. The most disturbing to me are the fathers who exterminate their families alledgedly to "save their souls." Do I believe that? Idk. Perhaps you have some insight. 😊 Love your presentations!
The whole idea of slaying one's own children in order to save their souls is not only ludicrous, but there is NOTHING in the bible to indicate that taking ANYONE'S life outside of war would be nothing other than sinful and murderous. Even when Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son Isaac, it was only a test of faith and trust - and God stopped him before he did it. If sacrificing his son would've "saved his soul" God may have allowed it Abraham to go through with it, and we'd probably see scriptures suggesting we do it simply for the sake of ensuring our children's salvation. And just imagine, if the whole planet were following biblical law then, we'd all be murdering our children until the human population ceased to exist!

He certainly is a miserable old guy. I can't imagine why his children live far away. I am 76 and I am fortunate not to be this way.
