Thank christ, if I get interdicted by a glaive with gauss or something I can do something more than getting up to make a cup of tea while the poor thing takes 20 minutes to chew through 4500 hull.
Possibly in messy uncoordinated instances … in good groups, AGFs already weren’t an issue at Spire Sites. And the net -30% damage you give up isn’t exactly exciting for Oreo hunting… Solo it might make sense, but if you’re hunting Oreos solo, in my personal view you’re doing it wrong :)
@@Neo-vz8nh Negative... it's is -10% (MPCs vs Large PCs) and an additional -20% (AGF mod on PCs) ... total -30%. But, sure, play as you like ... I'm just providing information :)
Okay but engineering Guardian FSD booster, and reinforcement modules with this Ram Tah tech can be legitimately super useful. I haven't get into this, but Galnet writes "any" guardian modules, so I assume we can engineer everything?
recently got odyssey thanks to a friend [and a major sale] and reentered Elite. I haven't fought a single Thargoid, but this is still interesting for someone who likes to experiment with weapons and ships. AX combat is a little above my competence range, but it's fascinating ot watch.
Don't let them scare you off. Sure you won't be solo'ing goids anytime soon but jump into a station under attack with a cheap ship you can rebuy and start learning. Just make sure your in an area with lots of other commanders, they will do the heavy lifting for you.
I've been playing for 2 weeks, did some robigo runs for 2 days and had 400m to burn so I got myself a Krait Mk2 and went to attack titan Oya. Died maybe 6-7 times but learnt alot about heat management, silent running, escaping targoid interdiction, and got more than 4m in combat bonds so I secured the rewards. Very educational and very fun. Much more fun than the Robigo runs 🤣 so yeah don't be scared it's a learning process
I think that Fdev has not bring this featurre for nothing it seems to be that the way to fight the rest of the Titans will change dramatically which would be normal because in war it is a permanent changing in fighting tactics and so on so it would be normal that also the thargs will change their defense tactics on the titans amd it will not be so easy to take them down than the last two.
wonder why no one mentions that this technology is not "break trough" as we had access to it since nanite torpedo is introduced. they are resistant to anti guardian field, arent they...
@@mackeysasser420but again, its same technology just implementation is different. same as integrated graphics and independent gpu, same tech different packaging.
One of my kraits has 3 enhanced modded ax multicannons (the one that heat you like an oven), a guardian shard cannon and a beam láser for heat solutions. Not the best build but it provides vs scouts, cyclops and basilisks. Medusas only if npc help and is surface combat. Hydrass... no way.
Lets see if fdev changes things once this analysis is out. As someone else said in the comments RamTah fixed a non existent problem. Or this is still first iteration, we have Titans to go
Kinda crazy that Sirius AXMR and Gimballed AXMCs are the meta for 'modern' AX combat... Mr. Tah may need to go back to the drawing board. He fixed a problem that didn't exist 😑
As far as I can tell you can't install the new engineering on the modified versions of the guardian weapons. I tried to do it to a couple of Mod Shard Cannons this morning and it said something about cannot apply to legacy mod.
@@Astyrrean Lol, turns out you did say that, commented before finished the video. Any suggestion on the best solo way to get the tactical core chips from revenants. Spire sites? Reactivations?
It is a cool addition which does not shifts/alters the gameplay/meta, but you can go fight them with guardian stuff if you want. See no real beneficial. Invasion, controled systems does not have field. They not really effective against Titan, and going in small group no need for fight. Maybe against Orthruses, as an extra safeguard. But you can do this if you want, and well somewhat viable.
The place where large shards could come into play is combining large shards and medium sirius missile racks. The medium sirius missiles will run out in half the time of the large sirius racks, so a loss on total damage from the shard cannons won't hurt as much if you're heading back to rearm anyway.
Doubt … if you’re going for a core bomber, Sirius MRs are better anyway. And for a fighter Sirius MRs are pretty much useless. Mixing the two is kinda pointless IMO.
While the new upgrades will make glaives easier and less annoying, using them in titan instances I guess kind of takes the difficulty away (not that the instances are too difficult). I personally liked the factor of only using human ax weapons as it finally made killing the goids a fun, team effort. Now you can just slap 6 plasma chargers on an anaconda and bombard the titan with relative ease. Again, just an opinion but it'll be interesting to see the communities reaction to this.
Actually yeah, completely forgot about shards. I was thinking plasmas because of their superior AP and overall damage, but then the enormous thermal load wouldn't be very good in an intensive titan instance.
To a degree. It has made shards, especially when using premium ammo, more comparable to Sirius Missiles. The latter still “win” as far as core bombing goes however, but the former are now much closer.

All I know is that if we are attacked by aliens in RL I'm glad mechan is on our side 😅❤
I’m amazed at how professional your analysis of these weapons and builds is
They can sustain plasma chargers if you set them up in fire groups to cycle through them all one by one in said fire groups
Outside of titan space, it might make soloing spire sites and glaives much less of a pain
