For those who say he overpaid for the car ur confusing this with the runny egg first model boxster 2004 model. This is 2011 and he is totally right about the price. So stop saying this is a 10k car or whatever. There is no such thing even salvaged ones are not 10k. Some people just comment out of boredom but have no clue what they talking about.
There are 3(ish) buyers to any item. The buyer who wants to steal it, usually half of what something is worth. The buyer who will over pay just because they want it and aren't the haggling type. And there is the average.
The buyer who over pays is usually the happiest of the bunch. After the purchase they brag about how awesome their car is.
Average buyer is just that. Likely doesn't brag or bemoan their purchase. Usually to them the car is a tool that gets them places.
And then there is Mister Low Ball. This buyer will grind a seller for days or weeks. Gets a deal that is often deep into a loss for the seller. Complains about every single item on the car. Complains that the tread on their new car is dirty. Threatens to sue the seller for some trivial matter. Constantly wants to back out of the deal. Tells everyone he sees that he got a raw deal on his car and that XYZ seller is a thief. Blah blah blah.
Do you want to know who rarely buys cars? Mister Low Ball. These are the people calling this Porsche over priced. How much did they buy their 2011 Boxster for? Oh wait, they do not own one. How about any Porsche that they own? Again, don't own one.
Do you want to know who complains about everything that someone else is doing that they wish they can do? They complain. A lot!
Mister Over Pay is too busy waxing his car to come here to complain about what some RUclipsr paid for his Porsche. Mister Average is too busy going about his life to care what anyone else is doing/paying for their car.
But Mister Low Ball is here complaining because his dreams of owning a Porsche was interrupted by Randy picking one up. And of course Mister Low Ball likes to post his feelings.

I had a couple of coworkers who owned Boxsters.
They were actually pretty bulletproof, for the most part and a lot of fun to drive.
That's not a terrible amount of miles on it.

My German Shepherd loves the cupholders in my Boxster because they are perfect for holding a Puppucino while she is riding in the copilot seat.
It's a beautiful car Randy. I love two seater vehicles. They are so much fun to drive!
I unfortunately wouldn't fit in that car. Am 6'2" and almost 300 pounds. Be a tight fut at best for this big dude 😮😊
Hey Randy, Boy are we on the same page! Love the convertible, and the vehicles select! Seeing the Bentley next to the Boxster further, reminds me of that fact! Your smorgasbord is unbelievable! Your enthusiasm is so genuine and contagious! That’s why the person that commented ahead of me reminded me of a old saying, my mother used to tell me “ if you can’t say anything good don’t say anything at all” why would this negative Nelly rain on your parade your excitement is so much fun to have you share it with us! Sold my 2004 Porsche Boxster (2.7L) with 154,000 miles. My 3rd Porsche and by far the most reliable. Great post. The fuse box is in the driver's side wall panel. My car was on eBay auction. Sold to a gal in Texas. Yes, mine had the egg-ish lights. Sold for $9,300. Great video, Randy.

Randy bought a nice yellow Porsche Boxster 987 (A)....making the right choice...lots of things under the front bonnet....summer is a state of mind...exciting roads ahead assured...🎉😂 the red line next to the driver panel is actually a positive charger in case of emergency...the part number you found on the dashbox is meant for 986, the older model...😅

i dont usually like boxsters but i love that front end
In the front trunk, the other area forward of the battery used to be for the CD changer option on the Boxster. Usually it was in there with the Bose premium sound system, and the subwoofer was between the seats behind the driver and passenger. If it’s not optioned with Bose, then it’s like a little cubby hole with sliding doors ( Porsche salesperson 2002-2013)

Hello Randy. The 2001 Porche Boxter is a good looking car. Got a few little problems.
wINDSTOP LOCK LEVERS ARE FOR THE PLEXIGLASS SCREEN THAT GOES BETWEEN THE SEATS WHEN THE TOP IS DOWN TO MAKE THE CABIN QUIETER.
The part number is for a wind deflector latch 👌

That windstop locking lever is the locking lever for the convertible top
If the oil fill or the washer bottle (that's not coolant) go bad, it's a PITA to change out either one- it's not expensive for the parts, but it takes time to get to or $$$ to have it done

I believe you got a good deal. Prices on these are going up because nonPorsche people are starting to realizing what great cars these are for the money. And for all the convertible haters out there - do yourself a favor, find a nice two seater convertible you can borrow, drop the top and take it out on a summer evening and you’ll start to understand the true joy of “motoring.”

WIndstop lock levers go on the sides of the screen you can installl on the rollbar to cut down wind noise with the top down .

Hope the cats are in good shape it costs 9200 for new cats and oxygen sensors if you have the cores nobody talks about that you can get after market a little cheaper but you may have problems with them love boxers they are great cars

The exhaust noise on cold start will be a leaking SAI (secondary air intake) which should turn off after about a minute or 2. No big deal & I wouldn't bother fixing it..

There's a trick, with the key, to getting the spoiler and trunks to work but I can't remember. You have to do it if the battery goes dead.
