"It should be 8s, with full aluminum upgrades, go 80mph, and cost about 60 bucks." -typical Internet RCer

Reason number 6; some haters just hate Traxxas no matter what it is

Traxxas earned their hate. I'm not a hater, but I'm just saying.. they are NOT the victims of anything

@ Maybe…my point is you got guys be hating on cars that they never drove, hating on cars that ain’t even out yet,go watch five different Traxxas videos and you’ll see pretty much the same names hating in each one..personally I like a nice Rc car I don’t care about the lawsuits and all that garbage. Some people have legitimate gripes like me with them putting plastic driveshafts on the rustler ultimate,or 2s in 8th scale. But some of the haters go on a Traxxas video go to the comments and say stuff like “ I’ll never buy traxxass”or “all their vehicles are trash”. So no they’re not victims but they get hate for some of the same crap that people gloss over with other brands. For instance people will say oh they use plastic driveshafts but so does other brands and same guys don’t complain about.
And if you know you’ll never buy a car of this brand why waste energy hating in the comments? Only make me think they want and can’t afford it so hate it. Sure they are overpriced on some stuff but if you’re on a budget or all about bang for buck then get a cheaper car..simple. Example: For me personally, I have no interest in a team corally vehicle, therefore I’m not even clicking on the videos..definitely not going to click on it just to go to comments and be a hater.

Traxxas ain't all that . Especially compared what's in the market and price comparison

Metal chassis bend and are expensive to replace. Price a replacement "plastic" chassis for this RC and you will figure out why Traxxas doesn't play follow the arrmma game when it comes to metal chassis! When hasn't the power system been replaced/upgraded in about any 1/8th scale truggy? That this one came out with an affordable power system that is entirely adequate to the truck is nothing to whine about... It WORKS!
The price isn't so high that that is cause for "mutiny"! Have you taken a look at average costs of everything else in comparison? Maybe you should... $350.00 seems about right to me.
You could have promoted this RC in a better light for YOU, without so much obvious brand bias...

I do understand why Traxxas chose to go with the plastic option. However I will say that at the same it is a bit surprising considering how much talk has been surrounding this in the previous years. The traditional formula of making 8th scale buggies hasn't changed, and if traxxas is able to truly show that they can make a race competitive chassis I would probably be more interested, although I do like the idea of having the chassis replacement much cheaper than the alternative. I do know its pretty early on in the Jatos lifetime so we'll see how things shape up. As far as the motor system I truly believe that its a good motor system, its again just a bit off putting to see it in what is supposed to be a high powered buggy. Personally the price doesn't bother me, I put it in the video bc I saw a lot of comments on facebook and youtube addressing it so yea. As far as the bias I did make videos showing off the new cars and I did share my thoughts on them. That being said I have a racers perspective when it comes to this as after all its now a part of a class I love racing, and I love that Traxxas, Arrma and the other manufacturers are adding there own versions of 8th scale buggies because it truly makes the conversation interesting.

Plastic chassis are fine, its just odd (like you said) to see a 1/8 buggy with a plastic chassis.
Also like you said, I dont think the Heavy Duty driveshafts are anything to sorry about. They are fine even on the Maxx Slash 6S. Not worried about 2S or 4S too much.
Price is definitely crazy. Traxxas will never understand how to price their products. But I like to think you get more in support than you do in physical product when it comes to Traxxas. Its worth the extra money for the technical support and customer service Traxxas offers over literally any other RC brand with almost no close competition.
Electronics are dumb. Especially for the price, but again, with Traxxas you pay for support and convenience, not performance per dollar. Once geared up, the BL2S electronics are decent. But not even close to the competition.
And in regards to the Typhon 3S being discontinued, yeah, they're doing the same thing to the Typhon that they did to the Senton. We can see the Typhon 223S and Vorteks 223S right in the final pic of the Senton in a size comparison. They will come very soon. With all metal gears (except front and rear diff ring gears), center diff, gyro, clipless body, stronger chassis, all for only $340 USD. So in terms of value, theres a reason the Jato is already so controversial. It just doesn't stack up near its competitors. But hey, that Traxxas support is unmatched. Totally worth $100 more than the truck is worth, right?
I dont think its a bad buggy, I just dont see a reason to buy it over literally any other buggy on the market unless you're a collector, reviewer, or Traxxas mestrider. Arrma Typhon 223S (coming soon), Team Corally Syncro 4, and even the 6S competition are much more worth it. And if you know anything at all about what you're doing, Traxxas' top tier support still shouldn't even be a thought in your mind, so it doesn't balance out, not for experienced hobbyists. But thats Traxxas for ya. I dont hate em, but unfortunately people still buy their overpriced stuff, so they will continue doing what they're doing because its still somehow working (even on me.. I've loved every Traxxas product Ive owned.) But that doesn't mean they're "worth it" 🙂

Well said! I agree with pretty much everything you wrote. Def weird that its a plastic chassis but fine, plastic drive shafts are good, etc. They need to put in a more powerful motor system if they want to turn heads, and I agree with you on that part support. Overall just super curious of where it goes in the future as its been a wild release to say the least, also thanks for the feedback always love reading the comments!

The jato is an epic legendary nitro rc stadium truck. This rig is just a slash 4x4 with buggy wheels and body. Kind of goofy they named it “jato.”should have called it the “bandit 4x4”.

Honestly wouldn't be too disappointed if the price was higher with a VXL 3s instead of the BL2S.

I have a problem with the name. Plastic chassis is fine with me especially on a basher which is what this is. The power system is pathetic!

    • @BillysRC
      @BillysRC  13 дней назад

I think the plastic chassis will be perfect for this thing, especially considering that the market for traxxas is mostly made up of people who just want to play. Also def agree the power system should have been the 3s
