One of the best self-treatments against depression is physical training. Start by simply taking a walk. Then see if you're ready to jog. (It becomes boring to walk at some point anyway, so jogging is preferable.) Lift some weights too. No, it won't make you fit and good looking overnight, but it _will_ change your mood for the better. Bonus: That alone is pretty attractive, so most men I know who do this, gets a girlfriend pretty fast when they start training, even though they might still be overweight. I can tell you _why_ it works too: Because it releases good hormones into your body, which helps regulate stuff like cortisol (a kind of steroid hormone that is released when you're stressed). Caveat: If none of this changes things for the better, then I'm afraid the only thing that will work is to seek professional help in some shape or form... It might feel bad, but it's far better than the alternative. But fortunately, for most peeps, simply taking charge of your own life is enough. Best of luck!
