Yeah I dont understand why Karl couldnt have published this book on its own. If Merchant had a book would Ricky get involved? Not a chance. He treats him like a kid.
Karl needs to write a kids book, some of the funny ideas he comes up with would've been golden to read as a child. "What would life be like if we had a thumb and one huge finger"
this man is brilliant. what a talent. he draws, he has incredible comedic and story telling talent, not too mention a head shaped like a fucking orange !
the baby idea has got to be one of his most insane idea's "dont go mental, feed it and that" - lol he has the right intentions, he wants to delve into the influence's of society, but he just doesnt know how to express what he thinks in a sane or normal way
Are you referring to Laurel and Hardy (born 1800's, died 1900's) ? That's where Ricky got that comedy style from, he watched them in the past. I'm 19 but I grew up watching Laurel and Hardy as they were my dad's favourite.
@matthchadwick Right, but we wouldn't be able to pick a goddamn thing up and make fine motor movements without our thumbs. Seriously do you realize the impact your thumb has on gripping things? And thumbs are the only reason we can make the grip needed to hold a pencil for example. The ability to bring every finger to connect with the thumb for fine movement is key. Do some research without looking at your thumb and making shit up. Humans would not be where we are w/o thumbs. FACT
@allstarpcg nope, I'm not trolling, and I do not doubt evolution. We have invented tools to fit our hands with thumbs, but had we not had thumbs we would have made different tools that would have been good for thumbless hands. At least, that seems to me as plausible a fiction as that of thumbs having been a necessity (for which there is no proof).
@matthchadwick Karl don't comment on your own videos... But seriously, you really don't understand evolution if you agree with Karl... Try building that computer without thumbs, or picking up small utensils. But I'm glad that your simple experiment led you to doubt millions of years of evolution lol (seriously, I assume you were trolling)
@fenhen i dont know, i would like to know if the baby would come out gay or straight. some may think its completely stupid and makes no sense, but i think he has a great idea. with that in mind, there is no way the baby would survive.
@vladimirvputinstein they did this witch chickens, but to proof another point. the point was, that without sensorial input the brain does not develop right. so a human would go mental, if he/she would survive at all.
It seems very, hmm...out of routine?, the way ricky keeps looking at the camera, he usually just talks to karl and laughs with/at him when he says something Karl-ish.
Everything Karl says has some kind of basis in logic. Hit baby in a room for 20 years has some semblance in logic, is sexuality a nature or nurture thing. But his brain processes it in a strange way and it comes out "put a baby in a room for 20 years". Its the Karl-filter.
Yeah but you’re not allowed to wear socks. You drink milk from a saucer. You might not own a Hoover All I’m saying is the Average XFM listener is not the average human!
got to say I agree with Karl on some things. The opposable thumb for instance, that IS completely overrated, particularly when people write about human evolution. I can use my hands without my thumbs, I typed this without them for example, and I can pick things up and hold things without my thumbs. So, yes we'd have been fine without thumbs.
Karl actually a decent artist haha. Fairplay.
I had an Office vibe when Ricky looked at the camera when Karl mentioned his Auntie Nora fart problem
the ending is priceless
Ive read this book and it is amazing. Karl Pilkington all over
Ironical that he`s using precision grip as he`s saying we`d get on as well without thumbs.
Ricky gervais is SO full of himself RICKY GERVAIS PRESENTS the world of karl pilkington
Yeah I dont understand why Karl couldnt have published this book on its own. If Merchant had a book would Ricky get involved? Not a chance. He treats him like a kid.
@@outlander234 Because quite literally Ricky opened the doors for Karl to become famous
he is actually genius, seriously
0:43 Brent becomes Tim
Feed it through the letter box PMSL
its auntie nora init n uhh when she farted for five minutes
1 person was locked in a room for 20 years.
@AndysEdits Whey! you've just got the joke...
@rockchic21 Sorry I like Karl Pilkington but he is in no way an "artist" xD
"Hi, TV's Ricky Gervais here..." gets me every time. His face is perfect when he says it. XD
Karl needs to write a kids book, some of the funny ideas he comes up with would've been golden to read as a child. "What would life be like if we had a thumb and one huge finger"
Let’s face it, all his books are kids books..
he's a decent illustrator!
karl is a talented illustrator!!
This looks like it was filmed in the 80's
this man is brilliant. what a talent. he draws, he has incredible comedic and story telling talent, not too mention a head shaped like a fucking orange !
"...less fingers, less messin' about..."
Amazing.
I love it how he doesn't even give a shit if Ricky insults him, he's just like 'Cheers'
the baby idea has got to be one of his most insane idea's
"dont go mental, feed it and that" - lol he has the right intentions, he wants to delve into the influence's of society, but he just doesnt know how to express what he thinks in a sane or normal way
Shuff a baby in a room for 20 years.

The difference between the camera angles is too steep. The cuts become much sharper and more noticable than they need to be.
Feed it and stuff, don't go mental.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GO GAY?
If Karl had an exhibition then he would sell all his own work and he would be happy.......
"Feed it & stuff" - sounds like modern parenting techniques
a ripped tennis ball!
"just to see if it goes gay or straight" lmao!
A hand with just one giant finger! what a fuckin madman
"Less fingers, less messing about" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! I´m dying here... LOL LOLLIE LOL :D :D
@matthchadwick Right, but we wouldn't be able to pick a goddamn thing up and make fine motor movements without our thumbs. Seriously do you realize the impact your thumb has on gripping things? Karl actually brought up the concept of nature Vs nurture with the locking a baby up, countless experiments similar to that have been done.
@fenhen i dont know, i would like to know if the baby would come out gay or straight. some may think its completely stupid and makes no sense, but i think he has a great idea. with that in mind, there is no way the baby would survive.
I think concert pianists may disagree with Karl on the finger thing!
@HerrKnitler if it wasn't for Ricky, Karl wouldn't be famous. Karl is his "product" in a sense so he has the right to put his name there.
Everything Karl says has some kind of basis in logic. Hit baby in a room for 20 years has some semblance in logic, is sexuality a nature or nurture thing. But his brain processes it in a strange way and it comes out "put a baby in a room for 20 years". Its the Karl-filter.
wow. he is a good artist. karl coulda easily been a successful children's book author.
@monalisasmilesforyou im not suprised, he thinks you could live without a thumb but looks how he's writing
check out my video if you want to see what Karl P is talking about *SEE THROUGH TOASTER*
Is that created in the image of God? More like created in the image of Bod…

eehhhhhhhh-i dunno how long does it take to go gay haha.
@bru16 who gives a shit if it's rehearsed or not?
Big heads, and webbed hands apparantly.
@monalisasmilesforyou no he doesn't :L
How can you freeze time?
@SeamusMuldoon So. Fucking. What.
Less finger's less messing about

@monalisasmilesforyou Karl Pilkington - Satisfied Fool. In reality, Karl is genius tho.
1:47 omg I thought of this as well but instead of gay whether we'd like fat or skinny girls. Not sure if its a scary thing to think like karl or not.
Oh my gosh I had the same idea of putting a baby in a room on its own to see what would happen.
Yeah but you’re not allowed to wear socks. You drink milk from a saucer. You might not own a Hoover
All I’m saying is the Average XFM listener is not the average human!
orite
How long does it take to go gay ?
Usually it only takes on average 2 - 2 1/2 years.
@rockchic21 I'd like to see someone with one thumb and one big-ass finger do drawings like that
That image of a thumb with a thumb will haunt me for the rest of my life. Cheers.
I think he is the way he is precisely because he bailed out of school. So much of it numbs people and kills creativity.
i have 2 of karls books. theyre so funny
thumb with one big finger, fucking amazing stuff
Ramblings of a mad man.
How long does it take to go gay?
lol i bought that book... it is quite awesome
Damn karl can draw better than i can :-/
that idea of the baby is brilliant.
Lmaaaaaaaao
karl is actually pretty good at drawing XD
Dat intro
