I have watched a good number of videos and studied a number of websites about a day trip to Cinque Terre. You guys are by far the best of all. Thank you so much for sharing.
We chose Sarzana as a base to visit the Cinque Terre and it was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful old town full of concerts, vintage markets and great restaurants. It is the real authentic Ligurian town and still little touristy. We recommend it to everyone!
We stayed at Albergo Milano for 5 days several years ago. Varenna is wonderful--ferries take you anywhere all over the lake. Wonderful villages to explore, as well as Como and Bellagio. Lugano, Switzerland was also a lovely day trip. The chef-owner of Albergo created memorable dinners--and we also had a dinner at Quattro Pass. Cocktails each night on our expansive terrace at Albergo, watching the sun set and the lights twinkle across the lake at Mennagio are among my favorite travel memories. We hope to return. Thank you for a lovely vlog and bringing back soft, lovely memories.
Great vid! Wondering is the Via dell'Amore trail opened back up yet? It was out of service for the longest time due to mud/rock slides a few years ago.
Hi Andrea and Rick; very useful information as always. I don't know if you tried but the best Granita for me was in Taormina and Catania, very creamy and light; the bartender even suggest what flavors you could or you shouldn't mix when you ask for 2 flavors.

Also when we get to La Spezia station how long does it take to come off from the Cinque Terre Train walk between the platform and go to board the train to Florence?
Hello I have another question. Great video very helpful. If you wanted to do a little hiking. Between which 2 towns. What would you recommend? Riding the ferry is that between towns to or just to site see? Is this available in most of the towns? Thank you again!
Hello Stacey, the most famous hike is the lover path that unfortunately is under repair and closed at the moment. There are several other hikes that you can do, you can ask the Park information desk for more details. The ferry stops in all 4 towns that are on the water and it is available from La Spezia to all the 4 towns.
I really need your help. We are going into Livorno this month and we were going to do this Cinque Terre trip on our own but my husband feels better if we get a guide which is no problem but our excursion starts in La Spezia train station at 9:50 a.m. so I would imagine I would have to leave the cruise port at 7 a.m. to get to train station to get a 8:00 am train to Spezia. My question is does the cruise shuttle leave that early? Our ship gets in at 6:30am. Or do you recommend we get a taxi from the port, which I know will be expensive, but maybe I can find someone to share taxi to train station. I'm freaking out that I won't be able to make that 9:50 time into Spezia. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hello Norma, thank you for your comment. We are not sure about the shuttle that early in the morning. We think a taxi would be a better option. You can always check when you get there if the shuttle is there otherwise hop on a taxi.
@@TravelAddictsLife Yea I think that would be our best option at this point. Thank you for getting back to me so fast and for all your informational videos. Have a great night!
I need your advice. We are staying in Vernazza and will come by train from Florence after a quick stop in Pisa. We will stay 2 full days and then leave Vernazza for Milan. This will be in July so the Cinque Terre pass is the most expensive. Would you still recommend it? If so, should we do 2 or 3 days starting with our arrival even though we will be traveling and visiting Pisa for half of the first day? It's around 157 euro for two people for three days or 118 euro for two days. Seems like a lot of money so I am considering just 2 days (we will hike at least once). The convenience of having it on the first day would be great but expensive. Your thoughts?
In our opinion it is better to have it at least for two days. But double check with the hotel first sometime they have discounts available for the pass
Hi guys, love your videos (I really do). Question… we will be at in Livorno cruise port from 9am to 9pm. Do you think it is doable to go to CT and hit up the villages on our cruise port day? I know it takes about 2 hours each way, plus should plan on being back to the cruise port around 1.5-2 hours before, so that leaves us with 6 hours total to be in CT. Thoughts? Worth it?
It is doable, maybe skip one or two villages and spend a bit more time in the others. Corrigli a for example is very pretty but it takes a bit of time to reach e, so maybe skip that one, just make sure you are back before your all on board.
I have a question can u get from Florence Italy to Vernazza direct or do we need to stop at la spezia station to change trains and is it more expensive to buy cinque Terra tickets online or should we wait to buy it from the station?

Also as a traveler to Italy do you think it’s a good idea to get an e sim instead of our carriers plan? I know it’s less expensive but we’re afraid to try. If you’ve used an e sim please any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Hello there, thank you for the comment. Regarding the Cinque Terre card you will need it to go on the trains and all the paths. Aak your hotel in Vernazza, sometimes the hotels are able to get the card for you. We did use eSims while travelling and we had a very good experience. it worked well and it was very easy to use.

Hi guys. Nice informative video. Question. Our ship leaves at 7 pm from La Spezia. I plan on doing the train. What time would you recommend me heading back to the ship and boarding time is let’s say 6 o’clock?
I think you should plan to leave an hour and half before departure to be on the safe side. Make sure you take a timetable for the train with you so you can plan your visit.
Hi! I'm going to La Spezia on one of the cruise stops. I really wanted to visit Cinque Terre. The ship arrives in La Spezia at 7 am and departs at 5 pm. I have some doubts: What is the best way to get from the port to the central station? Do you think I have time to visit the 5 villages? If yes, do I need to buy a ticket for each leg or is there an unlimited ticket? If you were to choose 2 or 3 of the best places in Cinque Terre, which would you recommend? Thanks for all the tips!!
Hi Julia, the best way to the station is by taxi. It might be a little short to visit all of the 5 villages. You can buy a ticket that is valid for the whole day and you can take the train unlimited times. I would pick Vernazza and Manarola if you still have time Riomaggiore
Thanks for such an informative video. I wanted to clarify, if I purchase my train ticket from Florence to La Spezia does the card then grant me access from La Spezia to all five locations? Or do I still need a separate ticket to the towns and then the unlimited train ride card will work there?
@@TravelAddictsLife ah yes. So I get my train ticket to la Spezia then purchase the cinque terre card either there or online and that will give me train access from la Spezia to any of the five locations?
Hi! I love your enthusiasm! I will be in Cinvue Terre in June. Do you know how much it costs to travel by bus and boat? We have an interrail ticket, but i dont know if not having the tocket you guys had would not stop us from visiting some llaces :( however, thank you for video!
Thank you so much Paula, we went in October, for this video, but we went few other times in June and July, it was a bit hot but also bit breezy so it wasn't uncomfortable at all.
Hi guys, we shall be arriving into Monterosso by train from Florence and that will be our base for a few nights in August - but please could you tell me if we can buy the Cinque Terre train ticket/day-pass at Monterosso Station once we arrive into Monterosso - which we can then use to explore the 3 other villages by rail..?
Excellent perspective! Quick and very informative ! We’re heading there this next October. Would you happen to know which by what time does the last train get back to Spezia ?
Thank you! According to the Trenitalia website the very last train from Monterosso to La Spezia is at 00:26 but please double check because time might change: www.trenitalia.com/en.html
Lovely video. Will be there in a couple of weeks. One question though, do you know what time is the last train from Manorola to La Spezia? My plans were to do exactly the same as what you did, except that I will be making a quick stop in Pisa early morning.
Thank you 🙏 here you can check the timetable for the trains www.cinqueterre.eu.com/images/stories/web/train-timetable/Cinque-Terre-train-timetable-2022-09-05.png

A question As we will come from Florence and will visit pisa in the morning (will keep luggage at pisa stn) and will move to Manorala or vernazza as a base and we expect to reach by 3 pm during mid may. Do you know what is the sunset time of may? As we are interested to visit only manorala and vernaza - do you feel that our family should procure a day ticket or just purchase stn with point tickets Thinking of to save some money Also 1 day ticket valid for 24 hrs? Or just for the day Please guide
Thank you so much for your feedback. Honestly the Cinque Terre card is a better option because it gives you a few other service included, check out the whole list here: www.parconazionale5terre.it/page.php?id=158 also you can buy a family card at a discounted price. You can buy the card for one or more days.

Hello! I will be in Portofino for a day on a cruise next month and my husband and I are thinking about skipping Portofino and instead taking the train to Cinque Terre. Do you know the fastest way to get there from Portofino?
Hello Candice, thank you for your comment. In order to go to Cinque Terre from Portofino you will need to reach the nearby town of Santa Margherita because there is no train station in Portofino. From there you can take the train to the town of Levanto where you can change train for the Cinque Terre. Make sure you have enough time during your stay.
Hi Guys, Very informative video! Thank You! Planning to visit this place Sept 2022. I do bit of travel photography. Is one day good enough? If I decide to stay overnight which village would be the best for me to do some great night photography?

Hello Hector you can do all 5 towns in one day only if you start very early in the morning. I would recommend you to do them in 2 days so you can take it more slowly and enjoy more time there. Train to La Spezia from Rome than the little train to Cinque Terre is the best!

@@TravelAddictsLife thank you so much, we have enjoyed watching your travels. Do you mind telling me which e sim you used? We will be in Italy for 2 wks and want to be sure we have good coverage around the country. We start in Germany for a wk then we are in Italy for 2 wks, Venice, Florence, Rome, cinque Terre, and Lake Como. Your videos from Italy have really helped us.
@@liebet9491 thank you! We used this one; readysetitaly.com/esim. If you click in the regional tab then click Europe you can buy one that works all over Europe
Variy butipull village l livet ❤ tank for u ❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🙏
You still have to get the cinque terre card, of you can get the ticket in la spezia
@@TravelAddictsLife ah yes. So I get my train ticket to la Spezia then purchase the cinque terre card either there or online and that will give me train access from la Spezia to any of the five locations?
@te5241 yes if you buy the ticket In La Spezia you’ll get the cinque terre card
Hi! I love your enthusiasm! I will be in Cinvue Terre in June. Do you know how much it costs to travel by bus and boat? We have an interrail ticket, but i dont know if not having the tocket you guys had would not stop us from visiting some llaces :( however, thank you for video!
Places*
We are not sure about the interrail, we think you still need to buy a separate ticket for Cinque Terre
@@TravelAddictsLife what a shame... but thanks for answering!
Great video! What time of the year did you go? I'm going in July and a tad worried about the heat!
Thank you so much Paula, we went in October, for this video, but we went few other times in June and July, it was a bit hot but also bit breezy so it wasn't uncomfortable at all.
@@TravelAddictsLife Oh that's good to know! Thank you! 😀
We will be there Oct 5th. Were you there early October or later in the month. Really trying to pack for the correct weather!!
Hello and thank you for the video! We will be staying in Manarola in September! I wanted to ask you where you ate your dinner in Manarola? Thank you
We went to Il Porticciolo right in the center of the village. We had a very good meal there 👍🏻
Hi guys, we shall be arriving into Monterosso by train from Florence and that will be our base for a few nights in August - but please could you tell me if we can buy the Cinque Terre train ticket/day-pass at Monterosso Station once we arrive into Monterosso - which we can then use to explore the 3 other villages by rail..?
Hi there, yes you can buy your ticket in Monterosso 😊
@@TravelAddictsLife Thanks.
Excellent perspective! Quick and very informative ! We’re heading there this next October. Would you happen to know which by what time does the last train get back to Spezia ?
Thank you! According to the Trenitalia website the very last train from Monterosso to La Spezia is at 00:26 but please double check because time might change:
www.trenitalia.com/en.html
Lovely video. Will be there in a couple of weeks. One question though, do you know what time is the last train from Manorola to La Spezia? My plans were to do exactly the same as what you did, except that I will be making a quick stop in Pisa early morning.
Thank you 🙏 here you can check the timetable for the trains www.cinqueterre.eu.com/images/stories/web/train-timetable/Cinque-Terre-train-timetable-2022-09-05.png
@@TravelAddictsLife thank you so much for that. It will certainly come in handy. Thanks again.
Hi, I really enjoyed this video! How long was your day trip? How long from one town to the other?
Hi, the all trip was only 5 hours, the time between towns depends but less than 20 minutes each
@@TravelAddictsLife Perfect! Thank you!
We are going in October. How many days do you recommend to spend in Cinque Terre?
Two days are more than enough
You are the best. Thanks for your prompt response!
Where did you eat dinner in Manarola?
The restaurant we went is called Il Porticciolo
Is it also possible to buy the Cinque Terre card in Monterosso? Love this video. Very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you 🙏 yes it is possible at the railway station
Am your new subscriber. First of all you both are amazing and it seems a born storyteller.
The best video so far on this topic. A question
As we will come from Florence and will visit pisa in the morning (will keep luggage at pisa stn) and will move to Manorala or vernazza as a base and we expect to reach by 3 pm during mid may. Do you know what is the sunset time of may?
As we are interested to visit only manorala and vernaza - do you feel that our family should procure a day ticket or just purchase stn with point tickets
Thinking of to save some money
Also 1 day ticket valid for 24 hrs? Or just for the day
Please guide
Thank you so much for your feedback. Honestly the Cinque Terre card is a better option because it gives you a few other service included, check out the whole list here: www.parconazionale5terre.it/page.php?id=158 also you can buy a family card at a discounted price. You can buy the card for one or more days.
@@TravelAddictsLife you know team. Creating a good video and not replying viewers questions is not a good sign of RUclipsr’s and most RUclipsr they lost their usp in this way. Believe me before i wrote I have gone through all the comments to minimise the same question and I experienced that each n every question you answered. Hats off and a big kudos to both of you.
Now about my answer its really a great info that they have a family card. God bless you.
Do you have a similar link how to cover Florence in 2 days including Tuscany vineyard as i just saw 2 days Rome plan
Also please release another video Milan plus lake como for 2 days
@@samirdutta2536 Thank you so much! We can work on a two days video of Florence that is a great Idea. We will make a video about Lake Como soon, unfortunately the weather is not the best at the moment to go and record a video, but we will do it as soon as we can.
@@TravelAddictsLife we just covered this year paris Switzerland for 18 days and next year my daughter 10th exam so my plan to visit 10 days italy and 5 days greece in 2025 but research work started already. So am not in a hurry. Thank you thank you thank you. God bless you
Hello Priyantha. One day is not enough if you want do do travel photography. Places like Manarola are stunning at night. If I would have to pick for an overnight stay I would do either Manarola or Vernazza
I am going in one week… what do you recommend me?
Hotel in La spezia?
Is possible to do all of 5 in one day?
So coming from Rome, should I take a train to La spezia? Then I buy the pass that you showed us?
If I do all of them in one day, how much time should I spend in each of them?
What is the latest train that I can get back to la spezia?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO… GOD BLESSED YOU ALL🙏🙏
Hello Hector you can do all 5 towns in one day only if you start very early in the morning. I would recommend you to do them in 2 days so you can take it more slowly and enjoy more time there. Train to La Spezia from Rome than the little train to Cinque Terre is the best!
Ayyyyyy I also made a How to do Cinque Terre in a day RUclips video... and I have to say that your thumbnail inspired mine, can you tell where it did ;) Thanks for educating us, great videography, my videography needs a little help :)
Thank you Jackson 🙏 I made the thumbnail myself in photoshop 😃
@@TravelAddictsLife i used Canva, but I like the Italian flag in the text… that’s what I meant… if you looked at my thumbnail you would see 😜
😃looks great
How do I get the Cinque Terre card if Im coming from Milan by train?
At the train station kiosk 👍🏻
Wondering g if you did all that in one day? Thanks for the awesome video. How much is the train pass in usd?
Thank you Peg, yes we did that in one day. It is a bit of an intense day but it is possible. The daily price is about $18.00 USD
Thank you! Heading back to Italy in April, this is beautiful place is going on my list!
Where did you get dinner in Manerola?
It was a little pizza place in the center I’ll look for the name and let you know
This was the restaurant: ilporticciolo.metro.bar/?lang=en
How much is train for 1day?
Can we buy the Cinque Terre Card at the train station in La Spezia?
Yes you can 👍🏻
@@TravelAddictsLife Thank you again. Have a great day 😊
You visited Riomaggiore but didn't say anything about it..?? We are staying there in October and was hoping for your thoughts? I do love your videos.
The video was about the train ride, but we will have to make another video about Cinque terre
Your video is outdated. They have increased the prices and now its priced according to the different seasons. Peak season is as high as 30+ euro for each CT card.
We have to make a new video, we recorded that 3 years ago
Can you do Cinque Terre by train from Livorno port easily?
Youl'll need to take the train from the Livorno Centrale train station to La Spezia Centrale train station, there you need to change train for the Cinque Terre train. If you take the 9:41 train from Livorno you'll be in La Spezia at 10:44
@@TravelAddictsLife thank so much for the info 🥰
If you could only visit 2 of the towns, which ones would they be and why? Thank you for a great video!!
In that case we would visit Manarola and Vernazza
Cinque Terre is in my bucket list! Is may a good time to visit it?
May is a great time to go 👍🏻
If I am short of time which one I must visit
In that case Vernazza and Manarola 😃
What temperature was it?
Around 20 Celsius
Which one would of those five would you visit, if you had just one choice?
Manarola for sure, but in one day you can visit alt least 3
I loved the video! I just had a quick question, I am looking to visit and would love to take the boat around the coast. Does the cinque Terre transportation card also include the boat or only train and buses ? Thank you and again, i loved the video 😃
Hello 👋🏻 thank you for your comment. The card is for the train only. For the boat you’ll need a separate ticket
What was the temperature like? 🤣
Warm very warm
The card is now 32.50 euro per person
❤
😍😍😍
🙏
too much walking to see some old town with colorful buildings ... I would pass ... skip Cinque Terre and go to Greece and enjoy ...
That is personal
15 minutes of complaining and complaining and complaining. Enjoy the day guys. Just relax, take it easy. You visited heaven and only thing you did was complaining 😅
