Ferreting.(43 rabbits out of 1 very large set)

I took 1 of my young hobs . First time out and he bolted 15/20 rabbits.

Thanks Pat , yes it took a lot of net to cover it . Surprisingly we ferreted the same set at the start of the season and got 50 out of it . It took it out of you running up and down that bank 🤣

There are patches but they are hard to find pal . We're going to control the numbers on our permissions and hopefully no disease hit it

Very impressed with the dogs and ferrets work. What is done with the rabbits after the hunt? Restaurant fare, or given to needy. Or do you eat alot of rebbits? Just wondering.

Thank you mate . Firstly we feed the animals, they can eat 10/15 rabbits in 2 or 3 days . Then family and friends, any leftover goes in the freezer and when it's full we sell them to a game dealer to make dog food . Thanks for the view and comment mate 👍

Yes in areas there are thousands and they cause destruction for farmers . The aim is to not kill all rabbits just to control the numbers because they can multiply very fast
