    Some of those older boards are so underrated and huge fun and cheap as chips - I added a Mistral Flow to my collection the last year, £200 of pure fun - keep at it fella!

    Such happy memories! The Allegro was about 60 litres and 265cm I think? Borrowed one at Camber Sands on the south coast of England very similar conditions as your video. Considering I'd never been near a speed board, it was really sailable even in chop. Plenty of spin out on the original fin - but omg, sheer joy! Thanks for the memory

    wow what a skill to jibe such a nervous speed board as the Bic Allegro in those choppy conditions. In the recap of the session's data I saw that you use Suunto app, could you be so kind to let me know wich data you can see in addition to data for Vmax and distance travelled? Thanks a lot🤙

      you have to load an app on your watch and then you can choose what you wanna see : average speed, max speed, 5 seconds speed for example
      you will find more here

      @@windsurfgear3593 thanks. Unfortunately it seems work only with Ambit and no with the Suunto Vertical 😔

    Great !!! Been there in years 8x and 9x... learning to jibe on board 52cm wide (F2 axis 258, Tiga 260 ...) ... when you have mastered speed jibe on these old boards... all comes easy with "modern" Hawks ,etc .. boards around 60cm-70cm wide... :)
    And spin-out at 3:00 :) .... yes, soooo many times too, AND classy recovery !

      spin out yes - the fin was too small - it was hard to ride

      It needs a good fin. I have an original Select "Eric Beale" and I never spin out anymore. For a bettre top speed I manage to find a moderne Speed fin thinner. nice board and so easy to ride.

    Nice gybing in these conditions! Beautiful board. Question: How do you get such a stable video? When I use my gopro strapped on my head, it's a lot more shaky

    • @windsurfgear3593
      @windsurfgear3593  3 месяца назад

      Thanks but it's not so hard - for the video, I think that it is linked to the generation of Gopro - we use HERO 7 Black which are stabilized

    If you used a better fin (no spinouts then), a real speed/race sail and placed your mast about 5cm to the front, you would say goodbye to the hawk 100, easy!!!

    • @windsurfgear3593
      @windsurfgear3593  2 месяца назад +1

      yes the fin I tried was a real probleme - it was quite unsailable

      @@windsurfgear3593 Was it the original fin which belongs to the Bic Allegro?
      (They were already terrible in 1989, a friend of my surfed in that time on this board: first update was to replace the fin)

      @@peterekkelenkamp9040 no it wasn't - it was a 26 cm G10 which doesn't fit 5.8 m² sail
