Y’all just destroyed all of that stuff… didn’t read the ingredients and barely tried anything. It seems like you just bought all these vintage ingredients to destroy these items without even giving us information on them. What did the labels say, what were the ingredients. We just watched you botch $16k worth of products.

I agree like of course it stail and taste bad it’s expiried for the soda
they did no even drink the soda
You want them to get hospitalized or something? 💀
@@MahilNaik they don't have to try everything but they literally skipped half the shit and didn't even look at it for more than 20 seconds

Fun fact: honey is a food that never goes bad if it is well sealed! Due to the high sugar content and the fact that it does not have any water, bacteria cannot grow, which is the case that when Tutankhamun's tomb was opened, they found jars with honey inside and upon tasting they realized that the honey was still good despite that it was preserved for thousands
they tasted tutankhamuns honey!!!
@@Shadow904YTyes
Did you know wine can be good until 1500 years later and the older it is the better it taste
Yes@@JamesRRcool

Fun fact: If a jar of food (such as the peanut butter jar) has no protective seal of any kind, then it was made before 1982. In 1982, 7 people were murded throughout Chicago after someone put cyanide in tylenol bottles that were in a store. This lead to nearly all products such as over-the-counter pill bottles, peanut butter jars, pringles, milk/juice jugs, etc. Having those protective seals.
Cool
i think its cool too
Thanks Sheldon ❤😂
Lol this is such bs, protective seals were very common in Europe long before 1982.
Maybe in Europe, but not the wild west!
As an antique collector, I was dying internally while watching this video
It was painful to watch food history be destroyed and discarded in a SPEEDRUN style video
btw, those cans with the keys have a purpose. There's a small tab on the side of the can with a lip attached to a thin metal strip. The key wraps around the strip and peels off, opening the can.
Yeah they really botched those.
@@timscharf3289 lmao ikr? xD
my eyes hurt just by seeing that

yeah ikr this was so hard to watch💀
i love how satisfying they are when you open them correctly. i love watching videos of people opening 7.62x39 cases from ww2
As a baseball card collector, that card is sick! It's of John McGraw, who was inducted to the HOF as a manager. The card is worth at least a few hundred dollars in graded condition, but can still fetch that price with a PSA 1 or 2.
thanks for that fun fact
Go touch grass😂
I am a coin and metal collector
@@Pokeyfish-oz3ib a person expresses knowledge in a subject they are passionate about and you say “go touch grass” 🤓 👆
The little piece you pulled off the can lid was the key for opening the can. It attaches to a tab on the side of the can just under rim and you turn the key to peel a thin band of metal away that attaches the lid to the can. Haven’t seen a can like that in decades. Sardine cans used those keys into the 80s.
REAL! My big brother talked to me about it, it pissed me off to be honest 😭
still some on products in belgium

Hi random person
I love how those Star Wars gummies came out a decade before the movie was released, the characteristics of the characters were spot on!
I was sincerely hoping I wasn't the only person who caught that
Came here to point this out! lol
Yep that was the biggest error I noticed too!
Though it seems neither of them have ever seen ANY of the Star Wars movies so obviously they have no clue hahahaha

This was actually really cool and it’s nice when you think about the circle in a hole like whoever held onto those products just knowing one day they would sell for money to finally get a buyer, I know that was so exciting for both of them. Hope this video gets the credit. It deserves actually really cool.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww GROSS 🤢 expired FOOD

I mean to be fair id try em too. 😂😂
I can’t even begin to explain the joy this video brought me!
I just got the cookbook, so many useful tips! Thanks for all of the hard work, and sorry for Lynjas recent passing😢I am very sad too.
Seeing the 20s-50s was a real treat. Seriously cool to see all of that history.
I really enjoyed this one, thanks Nick!
Oh, sweet young man! If you ever needed Lynja for a video it was this one. I was born in 1968 and this brought back so many memories both good and bad. Twinkies have always tasted funky but Kern's bakery(I think they were located in TN) made a cake called a banana flip that was the bomb diggers! Also, the metal key on the cans were supposed to come off, hooked into a slot around the rim, then rolled around the can to break the seal. Count Chocula and the other monster cereals totally tasted better in the '80's. Much more chocolate flavor. Loved this one!!❤

Nick putting the Star Wars Episode 1 fruit snacks in the 70s when it came out in 1999 just made me do a dawww at how young he is and arrrrr at how old I am!
was looking for this comment
That's not an age thing, they just never actually seen the movies and assumed episode one must be the first.
They also said home computers went main stream in the 70s, which is not true at all. About 20 years off with that one
Oops! Yeah we had SO many products that it probably got mixed up by accident
Love how you gave a little history lesson for each decade! Made the video so much fun to watch.
This is the content we want 💯
The evolution of the things.
Also from this video , i got to know about old foods and much knowledge 🙏
They rushed it it was boring
As a Historian ima mention this Those Keys you see on the Cans Are actually quite cool. So you take the key off and theres a tab to slide the key into and you twist and it opens the can
Ohh cool
Why flexing with being historian lol .. as if you need to be one to know this common knowledge.

This is by far one of your best videos
90’s has to be the best brings back memories with my buddies
i immediately saw gushers and started to cry 🥹 i haven’t had those in a long time and remember seeing them in my lunch box back in elementary school
The first can that they open it made my Anxiety skyrocket cuz Pin is for opening that is on the side there is a arrow that u hold with the pin and rotate with all around the can
Man these future ppl
Hearing someone I watch say that 1995 was before they were born makes me feel so old 😂 most of the 80s and 90s foods I remember having in my lunch box. If I would have known that those cans of Doritos would have been worth so much wouldn't have given them to my friend at lunch. Also, the Orbitz drink was AMAZING and so was Clearly Canadian. The packaging looked like wine coolers and it made you feel pretty cool at 13 to pretend it was.

This is a very wholesome and heartfelt message, so you probably want to fix that one spelling mistake so it doesn’t ruin the comment

Got to be honest, when I was a kid 2010-2015 ish, the foods to eat were kinder joys and ice pops and ice creams with tv characters on them. (I dont live in the US so kinder joys were and still are alowed.)
I don't even know where to begin to say how poorly executed this video was.
You guys spent all this money on old food and just skipped ahead on 1/2 the items. Many of the food items you covered weren't even close to the right decade category. For the Jell-o, how do we know how long you kept that in the fridge for? That stuff takes multiple hours to set properly. You'd think a chef would know that. And some of the stuff were straight up lies like at 23:15 when they tried the "20 year old" Gushers and colored Goldfish that were literally just purchased off the shelf today. 20 year old gushers have paper packaging and those didn't. Plus they have the modern logo. For the goldfish, you can tell that they're brand new by the nutrition facts label which that design has only existed for the past 5 years.
There's so much more I can say that's wrong with this video, but those are just the highlights. Overall this video seems to just be structured for short attention span viewership retention (which is understandable, but should've been done with a different approach) and less about actually appreciating the history of these old food items. If I were you, I would've stuck to one or two food items for each decade to have more time talk about them. Too much stuff packed into too little time.
Welcome in 2020 lies and short span of attention.
NGL its so weird to find cool and chill content on youtube, yet really entertaining.. this checks all the boxes.. i enjoyed it a lot.

14:25 this sh hits different since im hispanic bro i love this kind of rice, also you can call it orange/pink rice
One thing you guys overlooked is, the Coke from the 1970's still used the original recipe. While the ones from the 1940s may have aged poorly, there's a good chance the one from the 1970's still had flavor, at least.
Fun fact, honey is one of the only foods that dont expire or takes a long time to expire if stored correctly
Archeoligists found 3000 year old honey in tombs that were still edible
Nick is so creative with his videos!
Don’t worry! Honey has a certain material in it that makes sure that even if it was from the dinosaur period, it would still be 100% edible
Out of all decades 2010s looked the best
25:23 Twinkies switched from banana to vanilla in the 1940s, not the 2000s. They changed because bananas were rationed during WWII.
Just watched Nicks Season on Master Chef I think having Micha coming on the show would be really cool.

As a 1970s kid, that brought back some memories. Especially count chocula, that and grape nuts were my cereals of choice. I could sit and eat grape nuts out of the box at my grandma's house while we watched he-haw. I actually got a box of grape nuts last week at the store for the first time in many years.
