I didn’t know him while he was still alive....it was only after he passed that I came to know him and his extraordinary voice!! Since then I have watched each and everything I could find on him And about him. His voice was truly one of the best in the history of the world. His sound is incomparable and indescribable. I regret now that I never got to hear him in person. He’s my role model!!! Much love and prayers to his family due to his passing.
There are much better opera baritone. But as a popular singer, he was incredible. His recordings of russian songs are amazing. He was a master of the microphone singing (though in live, he tends to not listen enough to the orchestra)

And even in opera houses, though he was maybe not the greatest, he was certainly among the great ones. He was a great opera singer. But in microphone singing, he was really a master. It's a tricky art, and very few people with big voices really manage to master the art, and become really popular. The microphone was an instrument that he explored and mastered with much taste and he made great things with it. I am not an opera purist who would say that to condescend him. To me it's a compliment.

I was 16 when l landed for the first time in the awesome Moscow and on the way from the airport to the embassy l heard on the radio Moscow nights l burst into tears when I saw the blissful way full of greenery and birches which matched the song as an welcoming backdrop The song taught me about the kind welcoming Russian people Now no more diplomatic world my parents passed away and l am alone with my son and the memories of this lovely song

It's not incredible at all. It's a very little constricted sound, but with a wide effect. It's permitted by the microphone. Hvorostovky was a wonderful microphone singer, he knew exactly how to use this instrument. I neve saw him in an Opera house, but many people tend to testimony that his huge voices lacked real resonance and power to fulfill a big theatre and that he was sometimes miscast for roles much to big for him. About this I don't know. But it's sure that the word "effortless" would never apply to him, as he seems very often to make much effort without a microphone to produce sounds than others make much more relaxed. Though I love listening to his russian songs, aria antiche, etc...

Eu l-am descoperit pe RUclips, acum 7 luni. De atunci nu mă mai satur să-l ascult.
Este foarte important pentru noi românii, că a cântat cu Angela Gheorghiu, de mai multe ori pe marile scene ale lumii.
Am descoperit că Angela Gheorghiu, a fost invitată la Festivalul Dimitri Hvorostovski, de la Krasnoyarsk, în anul 2019.
Dumnezeu să-l odihnească în pace, pe baritonul rus, Dimitri Hvorostovski.

M-a șocat vederea lui ! Nu știu de ce si nu știu sa îl fi ascultat vreodată dar parca l-as fi știut decand lumea !
L-am ascultat de atunci într-una si am cautat știri despre el !!!! Îl ador ! Este un artist deosebit din toate punctele de vedere ! Ma bucur sa știu ca mai este cineva care îl apreciază la adevărată lui valoare !

Mulțumesc frumos, că mi-ați răspuns.Eu căutam pe RUclips, și am văzut un om frumos, foarte carismatic, mi-a atras atenția și
l-am ascultat.
M-a vrăjit și vocea, și de atunci, aflu tot mai multe, despre cariera și viața dumnealui.
A cântat la NY, opera Metropolitan,
chiar la începutul anului 2017, anul în care a murit, a avut un mare succes.(A cîntat de multe ori acolo)
In iunie 2017 a cântat, (cred că în Austria), pe o scenă în aer liber împreună cu Aida Gariffulina, care
I-a susținut, pentru că era bolnav.
Cred că aceasta a fost ultima apariție în public.
Este nedrept, ca un om cu atâta dăruire și talent, să aibă o astfel de soartă.
Pe lângă spectacolele de operă,
a cântat pentru poporul său cântece de suflet, patriotice, balade, populare, canțonete.
Am descoperit că la noi în România, a fost omagiat, la un an după moarte, la Biblioteca Națională din București.
