Time Crash was iconic on three levels: (a) Doctor from new series meeting Doctor from classic series, (b) David Tennant gushing like a fanboy, and (c) David deciding to give Peter a granddaughter (okay, that wasn't actually in the episode, but it did happen eventually **LOL**).
I don’t know what happened to children in need but it was so much better in those days. It used to go on all night, until slightly after midnight (two parts, you’d have the first part then news for half an hour, then the second half). You’d have the celebrity performances or covers, the children’s choir, the comedy sketches, fundraising efforts within schools and in public (ie in Asda, or the public’s fundraising challenges). They’d have a blue Peter section, the Strictly Come Dancing charity special (obviously), clips from Doctor Who and the soaps, a comedy song somewhere. Not to mention the clips of children who really benefited from the money from Children in Need. Not just ‘Tim who feels lonely’ or ‘Bob who has anger issues feels better from seeing a therapist’. But kids who faced life threatening illnesses, children in wheelchairs, children in real poverty, children who have faced or seen abuse. I just think of Jessie J shaving her hair off for children in need, and how much of a big thing that was. How many people gave to children in need that year, and how many people were in awe of her doing that. Can you seriously imagine that happening now? No, because it doesn’t seem the proper care is being put into it anymore as it used to be,
Can You Feel It represented the First Authentic Video That The Jacksons Did in 1981 from their Album Triumph that also featured Heartbreak Hotel. It was used in the First Episode of Queer As Folk US and the melody was used to promote US Soap Operas in the 1980's when Blacks were finally regarded as Characters and not as The "Friends" of The White Characters.
