@TheChi - These next 5 games with Thomas Brown at HC and DC Eric Washington calling defensive plays is very exciting. Eric Washington learned from Ron Rivera and Sean McDermott who both run aggressive and opportunistic defenses. This coaching duo may be exactly what we have been desiring for years.
Aside from being a Bears fan, I can’t help but admire how Thomas Brown communicates. What an incredible opportunity lies before him, such a blessing and so much excitement. I truly hope he seizes it. Even if things don’t pan out this time, I have a strong feeling Coach Brown has big things ahead in his future.
This man sounds like a leader. As a lifelong Bears fan I’m excited to see how he does. This man pays respect and takes responsibility regardless of what happens with the HC position I hope he stays in Bears organization
@@DesignRhythm the offensive coordinator's job is to call plays not watch the clock. Time management is the head coach's #1 job at the end of half and end of game.
@DesignRhythm - Wouldn't it be amazing to get an audio feed from that last drive to see what really happened? A couple of things that I noticed... 1. Thomas Brown said that he will not micro manage which tells me that Matt Eberflus was over controlling. Eberflus had his face covered on offense when the Bears had Shane Waldron. He was influencing the plays. 2. Matt Eberflus made a conscious choice to wait to call a timeout but Caleb Williams took too much time. He had no urgency and it became too late with 15 seconds left. Supposedly, Caleb Williams changed the play which took more time off the clock. 3. If the Bears won, then the Bears would still be in the same predicament it has been in since the Arizona Cardinals game. 4. I am almost more excited to see what Eric Washington does calling defensive plays. He has been a DL coach and OC not calling plays under Ron Rivera and Sean McDermott for 12 years. He is ready and the defense should look more aggressive these next few weeks. I am excited about it.
Dispositions are similar. He saw an obvious need to run the ball more with Swift, something Tomlin definitely does. And quite frankly, his words were not minced.
I legit though during this press conference...is this a young Mike Tomlin speaking!? I hope he does a great job and keeps his position at the Bears Head coach
Good luck coach! He’s a real one. I see why the team likes him He’s on point with the business of football and winning. We haven’t seen this in a long time
If he finishes off the year good I'd give him one more year to see of he can pull it all together with a full season he knows what he's doing from what it sounds like.
First Impressions listening to this guy, I am impressed, he talks the talk really well. I hope he can also walk the walk. I am hopeful for the remaining games of the season and I wish Coach Brown all the best for the rest of the season and beyond. As a Bears fan of 40+ years I hope that, if coach Brown shows he can lead this team from the front, and has the team behind him and the fan base that the ownership and front office shows as much faith in coach Brown going foward as they have shown coach Eberflus over the last 3 years.
I like hearing him lay some basic behavioral groundwork here, and he communicated behavioral expectations for ALL on the team and coaching staff, including himself. It was a very, "The buck stops here" leadership approach. We've been lacking in that area. One thing to point out: it's easier and more effective in the long run, to keep a tight rein on everyone/everything, establish expectations from the beginning and loosen that rein LATER once good habits, good practice are established. It never works to be "loose" in the beginning and try to rein in everyone later. Management 101. I wish him much success and no interference from McCaskey.
I believe so. WTF was O'Connell before he got a chance? Ditto McVey? Shanahan? Campbell? Give him a chance. If he does well in managing and leading this team give him a HC contract. Bears need a leader more than an X & O guy.
Thomas Brown has clearly read and applied a ton of motivational material to his life and his approach to coaching. If his personality/philosophy rubs off on his players we are in for an exciting five game stretch to end of the season. I wish Coach Brown his staff and our team the very best moving forward.
Thomas Brown is a natural leader. Bears need a leader more than an X&O guy for Caleb. WTF was O'Connell before he got a chance? Ditto McVey? Shanahan? Campbell? Give him a chance. If he does well in managing and leading this team give him a full HC contract. Do not let him slip away.
Good luck coach! I hope for great results but that was the most productive, intelligent, and no-BS conference with a bears coach in a loooooooong time!

Homeboy reminds me of a young Mike Tomlin, zero BS and zero sugarcoating. It’s precisely what we need in Chicago right now. Let’s finish the season by hammering SF this Sunday and then destroying the toughest divisional teams in the league. Every last one of them, BEAR DOWN!
Let’s slow our roll here. The next 5 weeks will tell us whether he is a viable NFL coach. I like what I heard but words mean nothing unless followed up by actions and results.
Sounds like the team was somewhat divided between those that hustle/focus and those that don’t, and Eberfleus ran things a bit too loose. Excited to see what comes next. TB seems like a good fit, reminds me a bit of Mike Tomlin 👍🏻
If his character off the field is as good as his comments and responses given on this press conf, he looks and sounds like a hungry, young, and focused head coach. This is the first time as a Bear fan, I’m actually very intrigued and hopeful for having him as an interim for now. I’d love to see him ignite the OL like they need to be and get our boys focused each week and just get each coach and player to just do their job. That’s all, just do your job.. I’m also happy to hear that penalties were a main topic as well. 🤞🏻
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…bring back the 85 vibe and excitement, us die hard Bears fans are dying for it! And oh yeah, understanding it’s out of the coaches hands, bring back the Honeybears!
I like him. I do want him back into the OC role, so he does not take away from his time being an expert OC instead of a jack of all trades. He will do well, but I want a true head coach who is built to handle everything, and Brown to be back he is most valuable. True maturity is knowing this.
His leadership will motivate this team to raise their performance in the upcoming weeks. The games will be intense. Their opponents will see and feel a new Bears team spirit on the field.
I want to know one thing from him. DO YOU KNOW WHEN TO CALL A TIME OUT? and Especially when driving towards the end of the game with 30 seconds left. Also tell your QB to take the binky out of his mouth and have some accountability!
When has Caleb had a "binky" in his mouth? I've listened to him all year in games take accountability saying in many interviews that he needed to execute better. Do you even listen to his interviews or is this just typical Justin Fields fans blind hating on Caleb.
