Swapping out some stuff from my Golf to install a GTI armrest and routing the rear center vents into the blower, this was really helpful hunting down all the screws. Thanks for making this, need more MK6 stuff like this.
THANK YOU for this video. I’m changing a shifter bushing and have to remove everything to do so. There were videos out there, but not for my model. One video walked me through disassembling the front part of the console, but for my model I need to disassemble both front and back. Your video was very helpful.👍🏼👍🏼
I appreciate this because my girlfriend cupholder broke inside of the center console on her 2016 se so this definitely helps as far as the gear shifter goes how do i make sure i don’t break the thing in the middle
Video definitely helped with my 2013 TDI Manual Only issue is, after adjustment - i cant get the main center console housing back on because of the hand brake handle. Please help !
There a lot of things that weren’t shown here. Like how you got the knob off the shifter, or how you got the black tray under the climate controller out.
any issues with lights or codes? i noticed you had to have the battery connected so the shifter could work to get it maneuvered out. in the vw shop we could just reset everything with a laptop, but i dont look forward to doing this at home when i add some sound deadening this winter
No issues with codes, as long as you don't disconnect something that works with your Airbags. Nothing in my center console was hooked up to Air Bags. When I disconnect the shifter, it did not throw any codes, so you should be fine. I also do not have push button start, I'm still Key ignition.
Yeah, that side panel was a pain. You have to make sure those clips lock in, there are not adjustable and yes they are a pain. However it should not be loose. I feel for you.
Where are you located. I just got a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta 3 days after we signed the s's contract the cup holders in that center console literally popped out so we're trying to figure out how to put them back in. Like they popped out from underneath
For the ones in the center by the shifter, there is now a kit to repair them... VW# 5C689820982V or ECS Tuning Sells them ES#2576761. It includes a bracket and 4 new clips
Was able to do it without removing the shifter boot. Just maneuver it through the opening. But thank you thank you for making this. Saved me a bunch of $$$ at the dealership. Btw...VWs OEM cup holder is a piece of 💩
Tried removing the back of the console (where the cup holder goes which has the 12v power and door control lock) as you did by pulling on it and it doesn't budge... Anything that you did prior to that ? I don't have a cup holder. Have the basic model like you do..
Are you able to access the back of the ac evaporator housing when you remove the console? I think the condensation leaks around there. My carpet is wet but I checked the drain tube, it's unobstructed and bone dry.
I honestly wasn't looking for that, I'm sorry, I do not remember seeing anything other then ducting for vents. If you remove the driver side kick pannel that connects to the center console you should be able to see the heater core, not sure where the Evaporator is, I saw online it's possibly above that. Please let me know how you fared. I hope this was helpful.
Try pushing the back of that bottom handle piece down, then pull up on the lip as they are two pieces, it may need to separate to come out...I had a try a couple different things before being able to remove it. I just yanked mine out. Make sure there are no bolts just above the seam on your piece. If it's cup holders in that spot, they are bolted in.
So how far do I go on what you did here to only access cup holder area since mine broke (holder peace… already fixed it.) got an email I could maybe email you?

Thanks so much for making this. I have to fix my stupid cupholders. The bottoms broke off.
Thats why i'm here too!
Same.
Same!
That's why I'm here too lmao
I have the cup holder problem too. Mine pushed through the bottom. Has anyone here done the repair yet?
Bro looks like Lester from Gta v, rich thoughts thanks this helped me alot bro
I'm glad it helped! Thank you for your comment.
@@SouthdownGarage you are welcome
This helped me out a lot I needed to get access to my E break & this video got me there 👍
Awesome, glad it helped!

Thank you so much sir from Quebec Canada for this video
Eh neighbor from the east!

Thanks man!! Been trying to figure that out before i broke everything lol!
Hello my little brother burn the whole middle console with the wire is there a part number for the wire
Thank you!! My Ebrake was stuck up, and this gave me the leverage to get it down. Able to Jerry rig it until the replacement assembly comes in.
Your welcome

Is there a way to remove just the lid?
Hi. I have a mk6 golf, the side passenger panel at 6:09 rattles when i drive especially in the winter. And it is a bit loose. Can i tighten it?

I'm in British Columbia in Canad.
What cup holders popped out, the ones at the rear of the console, or the ones behind d the shifter?

@@rom207Hi, how does that part get installed? Do you still have to take the center console off?
Is it that same for VW Scirocco?

Does yours have the cup holders?
How did you pull that plastic out in the back? Strength level 1000?
Okay did it
excellent video. helped here in Brazil
Great, now how do I put the damn thing back in. Its a ridiculously tight design

Can you advice how you pull out the plastic cover at 0:37s? I tried & mine wouldn’t budge & it starts to deform when I tried with hard force.

Welcome
Excellent video. Thank you for making it!
Your welcome, thank you!
I'm bad at math sometimes, did anyone catch exactly how many screws it was?
Thankyou soooo muchhhh!!!!!! Really helpfull
Thanks bro, for the tutorial!
I am not able to remove that initial cubby so easily. Any tips?
Are you talking about where the cup holders would be?
@@SouthdownGarage yup
@@campr723 just pull up and out on the cubby. You may need to use some force.
Everything that was “so easy” to get out AFTER taking the screws out has been kicking my ass and not coming off

Are you talking about the cup holders for the rear seats?
In my about page I have an email link.

You had your thumb covering video and I didn't see the front ....
Very helpful video Broski
In 10 minutes I just learned what hours studying parts diagrams couldn't. Super helpful man!
Hello. Do you know if the trunk release switch on the drivers door can be removed without removing the whole door panel?
At this time I'm not actually sure.
In the future I'm going to remove my door pannels for more stereo upgrades, I'll find out more then.
Thank you sir
Thankyou soooo muchhhh!!!!!! Really helpfull
