It is truly our honor. I think I can speak for the greater group here. Keeping these songs alive is as honorable as any profession. Yall seem to be the kind of people I long to surround myself with. Earlier I visited my dear wife who is living an an adult family home with advanced dementia. I put her on hospice right before Christmas and no one expects her to live too long now. I needed this song tonight.
She's only 60.
If I could only fly and be with her tonight.

60 is so young for advanced dementia.
Watching a loved one disintegrate before your eyes is one of the saddest things to ever witness.
I truly feel for you Mac.
I know the long drawn out grief one feels when watching a loved one succumb to this horrible disease all too well.
I hope you find some peace Mac. Look after yourself man.

Ever since I found out about the Western AF channel this has always been my favorite video on here... I've always had mad respect for Blaze Foley and Merle Haggard but this cover gave me a whole new meaning to this song. I can't put my finger on it, but this cover is different than any other. Like how Johnny Cash covering "Hurt" gave it a whole new meaning. Huge props to Mr. Earl, Carlisle, and Shoulders for making this one of the best covers I've ever heard
That is a superb rendition, one of the best I've heard, of such a classic song from the Ducktape Messiah, Blaze Foley.

I think this video has the perfect balance of music that brings you to tears and makes you smile. Overlooking 2021 brought all the smiles of Western AF, but the beautiful rendition of "If I Could Only Fly" is just a tear jerker... A wonderful job and i still keep coming back to this video, even 2023....

I only just recently discovered Blaze Foley, but after reading up on him, I don't think there's been a sadder existence. Hell, Blind Willie Johnson is close but my God. This version makes me tear up, just like Blaze's original version. Well done y'all
