Sorry! I Googled and figured it out. Levang the answer here in case anyone else needs it in the future. You literally just press the tab key which I wasn't familiar with before but now I know is the arrow pointing right with a line against it.
how do I remove indent marked set in between the spacing. for the life of me I cant figure it out and the indent that you dragged off the ruler didnt remove for me. thanks
Your options may be more limited on the mobile version of Google Docs, but you can change the indents. While working on a document, click the 'A' icon at the top of the screen, then select 'Paragraph.' You can then adjust the indent as you wish. Hope this helps!
Okay but what about in the phone or tablet app?? I cannot seem to figure it out on my tablet and I cant find any help searching for "google docs app" specifically?
It should work the same way on a tablet. You can click here for our text-based instructions: edu.gcfglobal.org/en/googledocuments/using-indents-and-tabs/1/.
I copied paragraphs from other documents. It seems that they introduce their own tabs. The problem is that they are hidden and only appear when I click on the paragraph (paragraphs are scattered throughout the document). I would like to remove all extra tabs and then introduce new ones. I cannot find a way to do that.
Is it helpful if you click *View*, and click *Show non-printing characters*? This might be able to show you the different kinds of whitespace that you have in your Doc. Another thing that might help: first, make sure the ruler at the top is visible in your Doc. Then, select all the paragraphs that are affected, and drag the left tab stop to the left margin. That should get rid of all the tabs. Then, just drag the left tab stop back to where you want it.
Okay but can someone tell me how to get rid of an automatic indent after a numbered list? When I get to number "100" on my document, it's indenting AFTER the number...
With numbers that have three or more digits, the text will sometimes jump to the next tab increment, which will take them out of alignment with the other items. The best way to fix this is by adjusting the indent markers on the ruler. This will allow you to set a consistent indent for the entire list. This video may help: ruclips.net/video/qQoPjRdsraQ/видео.html. While it doesn't specifically cover lists, it at least shows how to adjust the indent using the markers on the ruler.
The dates are not aligned properly. They should be butting against the right edge, but instead they're just on the tab, which isn't how people format resumes.
Please can someone answer how to add a tab before the date. I got stuck right here at 2:29. Please I would be so grateful for anyone's helps!

Came here because google docs updated and no longer seems to support tab breaks. Any idea on how to replicate the tab breaks in the new Docs?
