It is the tragedy of Nigeria that the theme of Kashim Shettima’s speech is on ‘Religion and Ethnicity’, more than 50 years since after the civil war.
It is in line with the old practice of divide-and-rule and diversion of the people from the real issues bedeviling Nigeria - stealing by the political class.
If the problem of Nigeria is division on the basis of ethnicity and religion, the question is who created it and for what purpose?
The division along these sectional lines was not created by the Hausas, Fulanis, Yorubas, Igbos, Christians or Moslems but by the political class for the purpose of diverting the attention of the people from their stealing - giving the dog a big bone for distraction and diversion.
Rather than tell Nigerians your personal example of rejecting pensions, gratuity, allowances and allocations, including your principal and team, you are insulting our intelligence with Igbo Catholic and Northern Christian aids.
Who cares???
