Welcome to the Fisher family home, a small rundown farmhouse that's been abandoned since 2011. Mr. Fisher, the man of the home lived here with his wife and children. He worked for consumer gas for most of his life. He applied for the job in 1961 to be a Pipe Fitting assistant at the age of 19. Moving up the ranks, he became a pipeline inspector for the company in 1969. On November 17th, 1996, he received a reward from the company for 35 years of outstanding work. Mr. Fisher was proud of his achievements and hung them on his home office's wall.
By 2011, the Fisher's home was abandoned. I'm unsure if this was due to his possible passing, but it seems that way due to all the family's possessions being left behind. The property had $8000 in back taxes owed on it by 2015 and today I'm sure it's much more. We are left with a small window into the lives of the family that once lived here and how their home has faired over years of abandonment.

That thing you call the heater that you attempted to open was actually a humidifier.
Growing up, our house didn't have central heat, so it was very dry in the winter, so we used something similar.
You mentioned back taxes, I'm surprised the family didn't sell the property.
I'm surprised the old snowmobile is still sitting there, most old ones definitely have value.

Agreed. And that truck! I can't get over how they left so many personal belongings behind. They had no newer technology possessions it seems. I mean 2011 isn't that long ago. It's a mystery and kind of sad seeing the place and what was left behind. . It wasn't a pretty house really but it was their home.

If the government or some shady bank put a lien on the property they made it impossible to sell for a profit so they abandoned it. That's often the case with thieving property taxes. The government/bank ends up with property you spent your whole life trying to buy- over ridiculous taxes they keep piling on & up. You never actually own your deed, you're renting as long as they can grab you with eternal taxes they waste by the billions, and politicians & social services leech off forever too.

Wow, this was one of the oddest ones you've posted. By the anniversary photo clothing they wore, that was probably mid to late 80s. However, they don't look that old for having a house that was so backwards in time. Take for example the wall paper upstairs was 1940s or 50s, no updates? No half bath on the first floor? Also, 30 years in the business as an energy inspector, you would think he would have made enough to cover the yearly taxes. Also, there wasn't much of a feminine touch in the house. Maybe the wife left him or died? Maybe they didn't have any kids and the pictures were nieces and nephews who lived far away. Also if he owed back taxes, why didn't the county go after that fairly new truck or that antique tractor? This is a perplexing one!! Too bad you didn't run into an old farmer in the area who knew the story!

My guess is they both passed away and the kids either didn't care about the stuff left behind or they live out of state and weren't able to get out there to retrieve any of the stuff before the place was repossessed by the government for the unpaid taxes.
If the guy was 19 in 1961 he would have been 69 in 2011. Probably got to enjoy a few years of retirement (bought newer truck and motorcycle) before he passed away.

I think this home has had multiple generations. The interior of the house looks much, much more dated than 2011. Felt like maybe the wife passed and the old man just gave up. The lower barn was prob my favorite. The stables. The outbuildings seemed tired and neglected. My dad had a really cool shop that he spent tons of time in and had over friends. Not fancy but so much fun to be in. When he retired, ironically he lost interest in it. After his stroke it was his mission to see it gone. I got all of his old pics of friends out of it. He told my brother and son to take what they wanted. He had my husband tear it down. Only the concrete pad was left. He’d ride around on it in his power chair. Sad story but I did enjoy your video. These places have their stories. Not all have happy endings. Thanks for sharing. Looks like you’re feeling better. Take care.

Just doing some math.... he was 19 in 1961 making his bithday 1942, unless I am wrong, the owner of this house was 69 in 2011 when it was abandoned. The picture of the elderly couple to me seems older then 69. I think the older couple may have been his parents, other pictures maybe siblings, alot of indication a bachelor lived here.

  • @cruizzer77
    @cruizzer77 Год назад +9

This is a pretty sad one again, whether they were forced out of the house for financial reasons or not we can't tell for sure but it looks like the kids weren't able to take the inheritance for debts in it. This shouldn't happen to people who seemingly were working hard. I can only guess that there might have been a blow of fate involved like heavy illness of someone or similar.
On the desk there was an empty Longines box, maybe Mr. Fisher got a Longines watch as a retirement or anniversary present.
Somehow the truck looked way too clean in my opinion, not like one that has been sitting there for over 10 years. Normally there would be more moss and dirt collecting in that time wouldn't it? Can't you tell when a vehicle was last on the road from Canadian plates? At least at first glance it looks like it wouldn't take much to get it going again.
I wouldn't be surprised if that vintage Honda Gold Wing would be pretty desirable for fans.

Maybe you can find more information about the family and what happened to them. It’s strange that a house with so many memories and valuable things was abandoned. It seems that the house was paid for or the bank/creditor would have foreclosed the mortgage and had it sold. The local government would’ve also taken over the property and sold it to pay the tax debt. This is very strange.

The vials in the sexy bedroom were expensive perfume. The expensive decadent and pricey perfumes were sold in those vials. That is how they were held, in a stand like that. Poison is a scent by Christian Dior. All those perfumes were worth a lot of money. Hopefully someone knows and rescues them before they were lost forever.
In the kitchen that was a Monkey pod wooden bowl and spoon, not bamboo.
I wish you would have looked more closely at the rocks in the foundation of the main cellararea before you went into the second, older cellar. Often (pronounced "off-en" -I know but I can't help it, this English major can't help it!!) Anyway, often when an older house was built first, then an addition is added, they just enlarge the cellar. It looks like they built a whole new cellar when the house was built, and kept the original for perhaps keeping potatoes or apples or other vegetables. What you call a basement is usually considered a cellar.

What a great explore, Noah. Truly a mystery house and I'm wondering if there are neighbouring farms where you could stop and ask about this family. In a small farming community, everyone know everybody and everything about them.
