You need the velcro to go front to back as that will hlod the battery against the highest G (eg sudden stop [Sorry]). Just stand it off the rear wall and put a slot in the wood support at the front and you can wrap around it that way. Please round the courners :-) Why not use fishing line for the shoulder strap cable and then it could fall into the fuselage and the fishing line would not get in the way during painting?
Love the progress Dennis & my gosh it's looking sweet but I have a curiostiy question, why velcro for the battery? why not make a mechanical lock for it? Velcro has a short life span & I imagine subjecting it to G-Forces in flight would only reduce it's usefull time & may be a point of failure. Was also thinking the same thing about those flexing cable brackets, fatigue in parts can end badly. Not "nit picking" just curious as to why besides weight saving. Loving this build & have learnt alot from you. My Uncle Gary said once to me as a phrase "I didn't know that I didn't know that" How very true he was & is. Cheers & thank you for what you are doing sharing your knowledge & experience.
Hey Leo, Those cable clamps aren’t subjected to sunlight so they will have a long life span. I really didn’t do it for weight. The Velcro straps with the rings on them are readily available and simple. I was looking for a light weight solution to hold the battery.
I love it when those Pinking shears are moving along. :-) Excellent job, Dennis.
I enjoy the whole covering process!
Things are looking great. Cool battery tray. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛
It’s fun working with different tools and materials.

All brilliant ideas of course!
@@DTMinimax I would not go that far but just some for you to think about.

Hi Denise, you mentioned that you will be covering the wing last. Are you planning to rib stitch also?
Hey Michael, I will be rib stitching
Just wondering if you tested the fabric cement on the UHMW guide for your shoulder strap cable?
I did test it on a piece and it will work fine. It is sandwiched between two pieces of fabric the same as an inspection ring so it’ll be good
Did you rib stitch the 1030 ultralight?
I didn’t….there was never an issue or a concern, I would just like the experience and extra peace of mind.
