I purchased MG Comet plush, chassis no : MZ71DA7NF6H002356, Engine no : HCP3138339...MG Motors India claim after 100% battery Charge car will give 230km but after use of 9.5 months my MG Comet giving only 100km on 100% charge ( some time it gives 70km some time 100km some time 114km) but never goes to 230km which company premises. Even for first 9.5 months it used to give near about 160km on 100% charge. After requesting to company for several time MG Motor India not giving proper response even i asked for battery health report they are denying and saying that we can't share it. They given warranty for 8yrs or 1200000km for battery but when i ask for battery health report they are not giving. Its really big headache for me because i purchased this car for saving petrol or desiel for my daily use but i need to charge it again and again as battery getting discharge fast so my electricity bill is increasing so what is the point in purchasing This car and why they claim such KM, thank you

This depends on your driving pattern...The car will understand your driving pattern and show range accordingly. Be light foot and drive like a gentle. Comet EV is really great for city drives...My frnd own this car we usually go for Gedi in this EV only...Mast hai!
I don't how you're facing these problem, but I'm also using the car and loving it
its one of the best and there's no other car batter than this for daily commute
and you should always charge your car up to 80-90% and don't get it lower than 20%
even at 80% i get nearly 180km range, and that's fine for me, battery health and rest of the car is good!
Even otherwise, if anyone expect the Laboratory specified Range (under test conditions)on actual Road conditions, it's a mistake 😨⚠️

Claim range of 230 kms you will never get, but 160+ is surely achievably by battery, it has some issue and replacement should be done by company. Thanks to create this video.
My tiago ev has a claim range of 315 km, gives at most 220km, I seldom drain it below 10%.
I charge it at 20-25% with a 170-190 km run. It has been a year now, I don't see any decrement in range.
Some tips for Tiago:
> Use less regen, it gives more range. Bumper to Bumper traffic use it most.
>Don't drain it below 10%, once in a month is fine.
>Keep AC at 24 at blower 2.
Yes it has cost me 11+ Lacs, but yes a range of 200+ even at city it gives you a peace of mind.

Dont keep HVAC on Lo .. keep it on 24-26.. your AC is draining a lot of battery as on Low it never cuts off and runs on max power. Most probably you got good range during winter time.. hence I think AC is the problem here.

Bro ..i always believe purchasing ev is not an good idea here in india ..if steel u have to buy n ev go fr byd seal there claim of range is genuine ..fr byd seal premium range is almost 510 km my elder brother has the car he drove in highways on an average spped of 90-100 kmph n in city it even gives u the milage of 550 km sometimes..however company claims 650 km of range.but still 550 km is super impressive though its completely different segment but still its seems u r financially well settled ...any way in future if u have paln to buy ev go fr byd. U wont regret ur decision 👍
byd seal cost 43 lakh. you want this guy to upgrade from 8 lakh rupee car to 43 Rs lakh car . most car in india give 7-8 km range on 1 kwh . tata nexon with 40 kwh battery does 320 km . mg zs ev does 350 km . tata punch with 35 kwh battery does 280 km . these all are real world ranges.
Curve ev is expected to give a good range. However, most of normal people don't require long range of 500km +.

Do proper research if planning also, i am not alone 3 Comet owners facing same issue I posted to make people aware to make proper research, we are moving to court for this.
The official range is like arai rating. expect 60% of what they claim as max range. And then you will not want to get the battery down below 15 or 10%. So that reduces range a bit more. So 50% of claimed range is realistic. And it varies as per the climate. It is better to get one with huge range for all these reasons.
It could be an issue with the motor power consumption. Find if it is drawing more power than it should.
Are you using Air Conditioning?
And better to use regen from braking or else the vacuum generator for the braker booster will consume some energy.
Also switch off the headlights when not required like waiting at signals.
Seems like an issue with the battery if this video is shot genuinely. I own a MG Comet for daily use and drive it how an EV should. It gives me a range of 160km with approx 20% left equating to a range of 190+ km
Keep AC on L2 or max L1. It makes a lot of difference.
Also the things that the Mg representative was saying on call is utter BS.
You didn't say how many months before you bought your car? And have you seen different mileage in different months?
@@TOOCOOL7610 it’s been close to 6 months. And the driving range has been pretty much constant. I did a frugal range test as well once where I drove with an extremely light throttle and on mostly plain surfaces with not much elevation changes with the AC off for 15 to 20 mins per hour and using regen effectively. I got a range of 190km with 20% left. Equating to a range of ~240km.
But with normal driving with AC on L2 the car should give you ~170-190km of range

In my opinion, the car is really good for everyday use..the battery life is decent, and the overall experience is quite positive

You have to understand how ev battery consumption occurs while driving. If you drive in bad roads, range would be less. Drive on highway and get same range.

Hello, I am having ola S1 pro purchased in Oct 2022 and its driven almost 20k kms now and still the range is only dropped by 2-5km not more than that, Here is a car, the range should hardly drop around 1% to 2% since its driven only 10k kms. Most likely changing lithium battery pack with original new pack would help out if they are using genuine and high quality batteries.

Energy recovery is reservative breaking i think. Meaning it will break on its own and generate aome power that will be savwd in battery. Makes huge difference when in traffic and going downhill.
But screen and range issue seems something else in wrong with your car
Brother. I was planning to buy but got the right video. I was planning it as secondary and only for a city use like u. I already had a ev scooter from pure ev and after 2 years its range dropped from 100 to 20. Company and dealership wahi bole jo avi aap ko mg wale bol rahe he. These ev are scams. Chalega to chalega nahi to nahi. Par warranty ye log nahi debe wale false promise he. 2 to 3 yrs max ye gadi chalegi dhang se agar aap lucky ho to. Keep posted on status of ur case. Ye log battery health nahi denge i know. And jo log bade bade comments karte he na k u r wrong u should expect this much only. Those are stupid idiots. So b strong.
I’ve also owned an Ather 2-wheeler EV for 1.5 years with no range issues. My neighbor recently exchanged his Tiago EV for a Comet EV and mentioned that it was the best decision he could have made. He said Comet has no range issues and praised its excellent service, particularly for city driving and good BMS.

from last 9 months i am also using MG Comet for my office use, already its completed 16000 km and i am getting range 175-190 mix on single charge, my daily commute is 70 to 80 km

Comet minimum range is 165 to 180...some people get 190+(info got from owners whatsapp and fb groups)..showroom people say alot of owners are getting 210+...
So in ur case this is not acceptable from mg...
I am also a potential buyer...planning to purchase executive model soon..but now i m sending this to our mg cre in kerala...interested to know whats their justification...

Yes, this car is not giving the range as climed by co.I requested the dealer at Jodhpur but no satisfactory work done nor responded to satisfy me.After sale real service by co. is not satisfactory as norms.shall We move to other options.

Before selecting an EV like comet. You should understand certain facts.... nobody will get the exact range as given by arai...are you getting the same mileage with petrol cars? Driving an electric car is an art ...you can drive sanely and get almost 190 to 200 km....

First of all, I think you are completely wrong here. 230KM is the ARAI range with a particular parameter set, and you will get less based on many factors. Thumb rule - you will get a robust 50% of the range.
It is the same with petrol or diesel cars. Do you go to the showroom for Gloster mileage every day? Oh man, it is never giving the mileage you advertised! I think you are wrong here.
YES, Battery health should be a thing. It's a software update, and stupid salesmen have no clue about those anyway. Make yourself some DIY.
Third, the screen blackout is a real issue and you should get that fixed. and if they don't fix the issue, mail the mgindia to get that in working condition.
And check the charging cycle and back calculate the battery health.

but sipping of power goes to almost everything - more so because you have top of the line variant and all the connected tech draws power whatsoever and how-so-ever small.
Tata tiago's real world range is about 120 - 150 at most with larger battery on LR range and so on. Even tesla or BYD can't match their ARAI claims.
buying any EV should cater in such consideration and that is why they give you 8 years warranty.
I mean get until tigor or even nexon ev max, take note of the increased weight and until solid state battery hits the market, don't wish anything above 150 km fail-proof.

Your driving pattern needs to be changed to get proper range. If you want to know more tag me
First and foremost thing required to be changed is keep AC at 25 degrees not at low.
When outside temp is high and u keep AC at 18 degrees. Temp difference increases which puts 20 to 30% more load on battery. So ur range will drop by 30% due to AC only. Now 2nd thing is u are doing alot sharp acceleration and sharp braking. That consumed alot battery😊

All the companies making e vehicles, they are recovering all the money spent on research R & D. Yet any one wish to buy e car must MUST wait 3 years from now to see the performance of e cars.
