Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a physical sensation characterized by a pleasurable tingling that typically begins in the head and scalp, and often moves down the spine and through the limbs.
The main purpose of ASMR is to relax people, often times to help them go to sleep at night (though my definition of ASMR includes inducing smiles, feeling good, and friendship). While those new to the phenomenon/community may want to sexualize it or generalize certain sounds as inappropriate, ASMR is not inherently sexual. It's incredibly intimate, which many may confuse the two. Though there are Erotic ASMR videos out there (which I don't have anything against), this video is not intended to be so. Any inappropriate or unnecessary comments will be deleted.
I encourage an open mind when initially watching ASMR videos. It's weird for most at first, but the benefits are and the general community here on RUclips is wonderful and beneficial beyond words. I Will Follow You Into the Dark is one of Frivvi's staple songs in her videos, and ever since she shared her backstory, I can't help but feel like she sings it with the girl in mind, like she's singing it to her directly.
I always felt like there was a weight to the way she sings the song. Sometimes it's a little overwhelming (in the best way possible) because of how heartfelt it sounds, that it feels like you're seeing/hearing something reserved for a lover, or a soulmate. And now it makes sense. No wonder there's so much warmth in her videos; she has a deep well to get it from.
Or maybe what I said is entirely wrong and I'm grasping for straws. I do tend to get sentimental when I'm tired.
Either way, thank you, Lauren, for the genuine care you put into your videos. This is my favorite of yours, it feels like a long hug. I can feel the warmth all the way here.

Layered heartbeat AND ear to ear breathing? Getting triggered by humming (around the 5 min mark-ish) for the first time in a video already full of my favourite triggers? This might just have become my new go-to trigger video.
Also, the lights on the backdrop are surprisingly satisfying as the camera shifts focus.

You are amazingly talented. And so compelling. I've been watching ASMR videos for almost a year now and I never had an experience like this one. Usually I watch ASMR videos for the intense relaxation effect they provide. I rarely get the tingles. But during this video, I actually got quite a few good tingles. And they felt so good, I loved them!
I love your quirky style as well. You actually made me smile a couple of times and because of that I ended up enjoying the video even more.

Just six minutes in and I'm already feeling way better. Odd as it is, when I come home from work, I watch your videos to unwind and wake up, rather than fall asleep. There's a time for ASMR to become a sleep aid, but when sleep has become a body's response to stress and a resulting heavy, dragging feeling, it's great to be able to lose that and feel lively, again. Love the little twinkle lights as your background. And you're reminding me of so much great music tonight! The heart beat is a cool touch and reminds me of Pink Floyd (like the intro to "Time"). And then a beautiful rendition of "I'll Follow You Into The Dark", which also made me think of Minus The Bear because I tend to associate them with Death Cab in my mind lol. I was really into them and listened to them both a lot around the same time - around '05-ish, when both Plans and Menos El Oso came out. Great memories!

Drugs can induce a heart attack which is what happens with the lethal injection method of execution and yes a few times the shock of the situation they're in has caused inmates with unhealthy hearts to suffer a heart attack before the drugs are actually administered.
But as any medical practitioner will tell you - a healthy heart cannot be caused to go in to cardiac arrest by the sound of another heart beating either extremely fast or slow.
Yes your heart can sometimes be slightly altered either way by hearing another heartbeat but that is purely to do with your reaction to the sound on a psychological level and there is zero risk of it causing you a heart attack. 👍

A person suffering from a heart condition could possibly arrest due to the shock caused by a sudden loud noise - but only because a startled brain will trigger an adrenaline dump in to the bloodstream (the fight-or-flight response) which could overstimulate a weak heart.
But a healthy heart CANNOT be put in to arrest by just the sound of another heartbeat - even if it is the rapid chaotic sound of a heart actually suffering a heart attack.
The specialist tissue cells that maintain the heartbeat function completely separately from your conscious thought process... the speed at which they pulse can be altered for a while by hormones in the bloodstream... but they have an automatic collective rhythm programmed in to them meaning they will continue to cause a heart to beat regardless of what you are hearing and/or feeling. 👌
