  • In April 2007 we (Dom, Justin, Rhiannon & Súle) flew to Juneau, AK to be Guest Artists of the Alaska Folk Festival. It was GREAT! Taking place the week between the spring thaw and the arrival of the cruise ships full o' tourists, they treated us right--an airplane ride to a glacier tour, good accommodations, a spot on the radio, and nice folks all 'round.
There was local talent galore, too, jamming all over the nooks and crannies of this vintage hotel in downtown Juneau. It was a case of Spring Fever meets Cabin Fever---PLUS Old Style versus New. When it came time for our concert in Centennial Hall, the Oldsters wanted a Trad Set--with callers for the dance. The Youngsters wanted Free Style--with us caught in the middle.
Folks were shouting and arguing all over..until they compromised. First half, was called. Second set: Free Style!!
Thanks, y'all! I still use the cedar box the smoked salmon came it!
Speaking of cedar...the first time we played this song was November 2006 at The Cedars, in Minneapolis. Rockin' good time!
