My baby would sleep through the night since she was born but my pediatrician told us we had to wake her up to eat every 2-3 hours until she was above her birth weight. Once she was above her birth weight her pediatrician said we could let her sleep however long she wanted which she was about 3 weeks old back then, she would be put to bed around 9pm and wake up at 3am eat and go right back to sleep until around 10am. Now at almost 4 months old she sleeps from 9pm to about 5 or 6am. We didn’t train her it just happened. We feed on demand we don’t have her on a strict schedule, but she developed her own routine on her own. However we have a well naturally lit room so when the sun is up our room is bright and when it’s nighttime the room is really dark which I believe helped her recognize day and night.
Babies this young need to be fed 2-3 hours. Just because someone says “how we get our baby to sleep through the night!” Does not mean you should. It does not mean it’s safe for your baby’s development and parents should consult with their pediatrician before following someone else’s advice like this. I’ve seen many parents do routines that are in their best interests not baby’s and this looks like an example of a parent who wants baby to sleep through the night so she doesn’t have to feed as frequently but their babies, they need to eat frequently. They’re growing at a rapid rate and their tummies can’t hold as much(which is also why they poop so often!) “stretching feeding’ is basically starving your baby by distraction/play to try to force the time you want feeding schedules to be. Moms it’s our job to learn our babies cues and body language when they’re tired, when they’re hungry. By paying attention to their cues and different cries we’ll know when they’re hungry, tired or in discomfort. They will slowly start eating more in one sitting and space out their feedings as they grow and develop but we shouldn’t be trying to control a babies feeding schedule when they’re this young. They’re babies not toddlers
My pediatrician said that my baby at 4 weeks was doing well and I no longer needed to wake her every 3 hours. She would let me know when she’s hungry (which she did!). Every baby is different...obviously if your baby isn’t gaining weight, you have to feed more often. My LO slept through the night starting at 5 weeks and is now 5 months and still doing so. She is very healthy and not to mention has never been breast fed.
U probably have good intentions sharing ur tips but personally I think 1 month old need to eat during the night. With that said, u r her mother and u know what ur baby needs. Dont listen to other people much less RUclips people. Trust ur guts and enjoy every moment. 💕💕
My baby sleeps during all night too and wakes me up always around 6 am but only till finishes her food and then falls asleep quickly. My baby also has hiccups and quite often it means that baby eats too quickly with no breaks that is necessary to give during her eatings.
my baby was the same way! He started sleeping 12 hour stretches at 6 weeks old! As for my milk supply so for no problems! I pump during the day right after he is done eating. He goes to bed at 7pm I pimp once at 10 and he gets up around 7am
Our dr said, at 2 months, babies could sleep for 8 hrs straight at night. 12 seems a bit much. Also if your'e breast feeding, your supply is going to drop significantly. Those night feeds are very very important to maintain supply!
jopol14 I agree with you I think up tell 3 months they need to feed 2-3 hours through out day and night, especially if you're breastfeeding as it only lasts in there stomach for about 1 hour or so, formulae lasts longer. From 1 month tell 3months is when they are growing the most and need to be putting on good weight.
My baby cry when he's hungry, I don't wake him up. He eat exactly 2-3 HRS for the first month, 4 HRS after that then by two months, he sleep from 11pm-8:30am. Now at 3 months, he sleep from 9:30-10pm to 8:30am.. But he still sleep almost all day. My first one doesn't sleep like that. My first one doesn't sleep like that.
@@l.vinaqueen2127 there's no tip, my little one just done it by himself. Now that he's 6 months and teething, he got sick quite often, he starts waking up 2-3 times a night too. I now uses probiotic for him and it helps a lot, even though he wakes up at 6 but I tried not to feed him until 7:30-8am. By 4 months and your baby still up at night, just let he/she cry a little.. They'll get used to it couple of time.. That's what I did to my older one at 3 months.
my baby is 1 week old we already knock out at 6pm with out thinking and are up up by 7am ... Lately hes been playing a little bit after eating but because he wants to its so cool
hi everyone ,if anyone else trying to find out baby sleep and play rockers try Calmer Fixer Blueprint (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
She is beautiful. Do you rush her when she eats so that she gets it all down on your time schedule? Because those hiccups could be eating too fast, though all babies get them at times. I am glad you noticed her growth spurt that required more frequent feeding. They happen at intervals that are somewhat unique to each child. There will be a sleep regression around the 4 month regression that you must adjust to as well. Generally, though all sane people recommend good sleep habits, regular schedules, and rituals for naps and nighttime sleep to help babies distinguish time of day, etc., it is best to "sleep train" after 4 months or so. Under 3 months or so you cannot spoil them. They will not associate feeding and sleeping unless you put them to bed on the breast or with a bottle in their mouths. It is recommended that the baby be put down tired and ready for sleep, but must learn to self-soothe once in the bassinet or crib without feeding until they sleep. White noise is fine at night because it sounds like the womb. The fats in milk, etc., are so important to the development of their brains, one must be careful to not deliberately underfeed a child because it will stunt or damage development. By the way, at whatever age they become awake enough between some sleeps to play a bit, it is important to do that play with them simply because they are ready for it. As infants they are often awake enough to play a bit perhaps before two naps during the day. Whenever they awaken during the night for a feed it is important to "sleep feed" them meaning that there is little light and still the white noise and no talking or interaction to make them awaken more than their hungry bellies require for them to take the milk or formula. You can hold them, but not do anything else in terms of sound or movement to stimulate them because you want to put them right down again for them to go back to sleep as it's still night. Do not rush the feeding and burping, but do not stimulate them. When they are even infants as playtime, if they are a bit more awake sometimes, one should talk to them and interact gently and let them see your face closely and begin tummy time so they get used to how that feels. She's so squirmy and whiny and hiccuping, so does she need feeding and a nap now in fact?
Hiya 😊 Thanks for the informative video ! I would like to know how do you implement the eat play and sleep routine with a breastfed baby as my 4 week old baby is exclusively breastfed but sleeps via boob ... so if I tried to do that it would be like eat play then eat-sleep 😅 Your advice is much appreciated x
Some good information here but slightly misleading. At one month I don’t think parents should be stressing about getting a baby to “sleep though the night.” However, there are some good tips in the video about some habits to get into and things to try.

I wish you had just paused the video to tend to your baby. It was hard to concentrate on what you were saying while baby was hiccuping and fidgeting the whole time.
Are you breast feeding or formula ? Its quite impossible if you are doing direct latching, my wife boobs will get engorged if she waits for 4 hours and will have to pump
Does it really work until now? I mean...if you breastfed mom then it must be very hard for the baby to stay sleep frm 7-6 ! If you really do it well, then wowwwwwwwww!!! But as long as i know, even for the formula milk baby, and they're still way too young to sleep that long, theit body has natural call to ask for milk. So, my question is, how does it really work for you?

Not good for a growing baby... sleep is when babies brain develops. Babies, depending on their age. Need to nap 2-3 times a day. Short naps. Or a long 3 hour nap. My 3 year old still takes a nap during the day and sleeps through the night.

Not cool
Are you kidding me
Not good for a growing baby... sleep is when babies brain develops. Babies, depending on their age. Need to nap 2-3 times a day. Short naps. Or a long 3 hour nap. My 3 year old still takes a nap during the day and sleeps through the night.
