The U.S. states vying for cheaper drugs from Canada

    I was under the impression that Canada bought much of our supply in bulk cheaper because of our centralized system. If that's the case, then why wouldn't suppliers increase prices Canada pays, knowing that we're now playing middle-man and eating into their market share state-side?
    Is this the case or does Canada manufacture our own pharmaceuticals? If we don't, then isn't this just going to result in increased cost for Canadians, decreased costs for Americans? In other words, I don't see the benefit of this to the Canadian public.
    I'm all for Americans reigning-in their healthcare costs, but not at additional expense to Canadians. No surprise that the Liberals and their pharma-lobby see no problems with this plan...
