      Oh yes. Absolutely. I'll break it down hard. Give me a few weeks. Perhaps less. Camera mount install video is coming this next week. Please share this one. I will be greatful.

    "Improves the sound going out".....Yeah. Remember the Proteus and how the 'directional earcups" were supposed to help back players hear front players better, and vice versa? Paintball has to be one of the most gimmick filled industries I have ever seen. Second only to a close tie between audio equipment and car parts.

    Some who's wearing glasses doesn't mention anything about how well the i5 mask accommodates glasses! What's that all about!

    I hope they make like a i5 small cause I had to buy a dye i4 cause I have a really small head and I loved the vary small profile

    I dont see how this is just a woodsball point of view, Most of the thing addressed in the video doesnt really apply to just woodsball or airball there more of a concern everyone has, when looking for new googles. i like the review but id also would have liked to see the masked weighed

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад

      I won't argue your concern as to why this fits the woodsballer - that's just a rabbit hole. As for the weighted concern, I can answer that. The Nikon 360 for VR video is big and heavy. It does in fact have a good deal of impact to how you set it up. That is - with the angled bracket I purchased the mounting screw has a hex head fitting for a standard allen wrench. That needs to be tightened before you shoot video. In addition over time the full weight seems to bore out the fitted holes on the mask itself and create some play. To this end my evaluation is that a small camera such as the small Go Pro works great. The larger camera such as the Nikon 360 will indeed eventually shift as all that weight has a lot of torque. The more you take the mount on and off or a camera attached to the mount the more wear to the masks fitting holes (three holes you see on the mask in the video). In the end I think the larger camera will shorten the life the mask in terms of the mount. The mask itself will remain usable for paintball but in due time the mount won't seat properly and the camera mount function will cease to operate properly. I've gone as far as to cut two small pieces of padded double side tape and attach that to both sides around the mount to stop any shimmy. That has helped a lot but that also means I've made the mount permanent or semi-permanent depending on how you want to take it. I can't stress enough that in the field with the mount the cameras don't shake. The real bear hear is the pre-game set-up. I have some great 360 videos already up with more to come that prove the camera does not shake. It's great stable video. Proof enough. Hope I've offered some insight. The product is not bullet-proof, but it is the best you'll find and my requirements are greater than the average game videographer so if it can stand my test, I think other users will be thrilled. My worst case scenario (in my opinion) exceeds what the manufacturer intended.

    Great review, it was very in depth. Really shows the effort you put into these. I'm trying to narrow down between these and the evs and this helped a lot.

      Thanks. The fact you stopped to leave this feedback is sincerely appreciated. If you feel any need to return the favor for the effort, share! It helps - expanding the audience is crucial. Thanks again.

    Apologies if this is a dumb question, but are the ear-protectors removable like on the i4?

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад

      Yes. I've confirmed with Dye that four to five basic color types will be to market about four months after release of the goggle itself.

    What about fogging? u said nothing about that

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  5 лет назад +1

      Any mask will fog. Period. Even double pane lenses. I am working on a video on how to stop any fog in any mask. But rather make you wait, the answer is a headband. Many headbands. When the foam on any mask gets moist that's where you're fogging comes from. Own a few headbands and change them between games. Aways keep your foam on the headband itself.
      Peace my paintball friend

      DangerMan great thank you..what do u also think about haber vision fan for masks?

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  5 лет назад

      @@b4yonce I've used fans. Years back. The sound was a bit bothersome but it wasn't the end of the world but I'd say they were about 50% in terms of effectiveness.

    how about those ear pieces ripping due to pulling on the straps to change the lenses

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад

      I can see them wearing over time. It's possible but having owned 10 other i4's I can say the new ear pieces are more rugged.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад

      Thank you. I will be producing an update to this in a couple weeks. I'll be explaining the limitations of the camera mount. I've been in contact with Dye on this a good bit too. Limitations is the key in my opinion. As for the mask itself, the lens management system is not as good as the i4, but it is a trade-off that seems unavoidable for the addition of the other features. Thanks for the favorable feedback. Much appreciated. I have a lot coming this spring. I just don't like to do winter videos as they look horrible on film. LOL

    did they open up the distance in the foam to fit better with glasses or is it the same as the i4, I just got new glasses and they're giving me problems with my i4. I'm interested in the i5 but it's a lot of money if I'm going to have the same problem

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад

      I wear reading glasses. For me the fit is similar to the i4's but my glasses are not big either. I'd say you should wait to try them on from someone who owns a them before plunking down the money.

    I use to play airsoft, but as of late, paintball is calling my name. Now, im looking into a paintball type of mask. However, i would like to use a helmet when playing to mount my go pro, lasers, lights, and other attachments. Ive seen people use the i4's easily when wearing a helmet, but the i5 seems a little too big. Would you say this is true, or would the i5's be a better item to invest in? Thank you and love your videos! :)

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад +1

      This one is a tough one. But I think you'll find that a helmet will be a bit of a trick with the i5's back strap system. If you are running with a Hero 5 type camera mounted, you can't go with a better mount. Super stable and out of the way. Just a great way to roll. As for the helmet I'd say that the top of the i4 and i5 are no different. The ears come lower and slightly more back. They are very very similar with those small variations. I think the ear system may possibly make the rig a bit wider too as that area is packed with parts that overlap. Not a big deal but that's an honest assessment.

    • @krawl1983
      @krawl1983 7 лет назад

      DangerMan thanks for the reply brother! I think the way it would be possible, without dremeling the helmet to bits, is to reposition / remove some of the velcro inside the helmet. The i5's do look very similar to the i4's, so im sure i can fix something up fairly easily. Im starting up my own paintball channel soon once i acquire more gear, and this will be my first video response to help other people out! Regardless of it working or not, itll be a fun project. thanks again.

    • @DangerManXX
      @DangerManXX  7 лет назад +1

      I don't know if it is necessary to break down this helmet. But I don't know what you are attempting to seat it in. As always, think ahead as to avoid wasting an investment. :-)

    • @krawl1983
      @krawl1983 7 лет назад

      Very good advice! I just went to Evike today to see the i5's in person and they do seem a little bigger than the i4's. (*Bigger*, as in the i5's sit a little higher). Not a huge issue. I browsed around on Amazon for about 30 minutes, and came across a review stating that the FAST helmets are the way to go. Apparently, they allow the i5's to rest easy without modification, apparently. I'll post a link to the product if i can find it at home... Either way, i may just go with the i5's just because theyre newer and, personally, i feel like they fit much better on my small face. :)
