Bought it for my Rog Ally. Looking forward to it. Also got some cables with their own display info including a usb 4 cable of 1M so I can have a longer connection from the dock to the Ally - Note: A normal 100w USB C charge cable only has USB 2 transfer speeds, so you'll be capped for all your dock ports at 480mbps! The reason you need a proper USB 4 cable is because it is fully backwards compatible and will completely saturate the 10GB/S data bus of the Ally, as the cable is actually capable of 40GB/S, and it can also manage 240W of charge, so, you are super future proofed.... if you are wanting to pass through the 65w from dock to ally or other handheld, you need a cable capable of that wattage - A normal usb c 10 gb/s data cable won't do the 65 watts needed by the ally, and a normal USB C charge cable won't use the Gen 2 data port of the Ally properly, so a USB 4 cable actually kills all birds with one stone. This is, if you, like me, want a longer cable from Ally to dock so you can have plenty of slack from Ally to dock. If you don't need that, you of course just use the included short cable with the dock. Cheers.
The only change I would make on the Dockcase is to put the PD input on the other far end.. Hard to find something like that, to make it feel like a natural inline cable extension. I did find one that does it with 100W PD, and it offered 4xUSB C Gen ports on board for a reasonable price, but the cable from dock to PC is fixed and too short for a handheld, will be hanging off and adding extra weight. Still. for anyone who is interested, that one is called the Selore 10Gbps USB C Hub, 5 Ports USB C Splitter with 100W Power Delivery. I can't post a link as YT will auto delete my comment. BTW, the Dockcase, whilst seemingly expensive, is actually the cheapest portable dock to have multiple Gen 2 ports AND a UHS II card reader, which means for Ally users like myself, I can completely avoid the internal SD card reader which has overheat issues. Good times! I see U Green Docks (for example) for 50 bucks and they are all Gen 1 ports and UHS 1 (104 mb/s vs 300 for UHS 2) readers - so, you pay for what you get, but nevertheless, the Dockcase is good value, as other similarly featured docks (without the LCD info) are 50 bucks more+++++
I don't like USB-C docks. I preferred the old fashion docks from the NB manufacturer - there were no issues when I wanted to connect 3 screens... by the way, I tried to play it several times, but I think the author in the video is saying "bytes", when he should say "bits", its' just me or he's really saying it?
Man, you’re confused on a number of issues. The Dockcase Explorer Pro is an M.2 SSD case, not a hub. I know because I have one and you even flashed up a web image of the unit! That said, you are showing one of Dockcase’s hubs. Also you stated 5 gigabytes per second. It’s 5 gigabits per second.
Really tough to take these reviews seriously when the reviewers don't know or don't care that there's a difference. Shouldn't drive me as nuts as it does, but I can't help it.
My guy, how daft are you to call somebody out without knowing any info about the product. Do your research before calling out a reviewer. This is thier Explorer Edition USB Hub. The M.2 SSD enclosure is a completely seperate item. Delete this misinformation.

I’ve had a lot of issues with docks having intermittent issues dropping the Ethernet connection. How did this one fare?

Got mine. Thanks
🐬 that is awesome! What would you use to connect a USB-A usb external hard drive to an iPad Pro to? I store photos on an external hard drive.
what kind of stand are you using for your ipad?
Can I use this with iMac M1 2021 ?
🐬 another banger video

🐬 Good review. Thanks!
You need to learn the difference between the words "translucent" and "transparent" :)

Dude, are you drunk? This is a USB-C hub not a SSD case, I can't believe this 😂 He also said 10GBit/s, the only confusing statement was "file sizes".

He literally says "5 gigabytes of speed" ehhh
What is 10 Gigabits per second file size?!?!?!?!?!
I wondered that too :)
