  • Welcome, to the start of the 2024 Wildlife Season!
Sadly, it didn't quite go to plan (the warm-up that I expected was replaced with even more rain), but South Texas brought many brand new animals to the channel including one of the United States' largest reptiles, and a brilliant bird species that...well, it behaves just as rambunctiously as its more familiar northern cousins, a true jester in regal clothing.

STX is such a fun place to explore. Always a good time down there even if you don't find all the targets.

Always a bummer when the weather doesn't cooperate, but the Sabal Palm Sanctuary looks like a beautiful place. Like a trip to another world. Awesome!

It's the kind of habitat I would be perfectly happy living in forever...if it weren't for the chiggers.

Interesting that falcons are related to parrots. I did not know that.
