    This was so incredibly useful. It taught me how to turn the printer off. I would have never been able to figure it out on my own. Thank you so much HP you guys are amazing.

    This video DOES NOT show you what to do when your carriage return wont move to center. So it does me no good

      Jane Steiger If you cannot manually move the carriage to the center you will need to contact HP Technical Support.

      The tools in the printer menu fixed it. I did a reset factory defaults, then clean and align printer heads

    I cannot move the ink cartridge at all, the video does not address this problem

    I am throwing mine away in the trash. I have no paper jam and the carriage keeps getting stuck to the right and makes banging noise tying to get unstuck. I had this photo smart C4640 BOUT TEN YEARS NOW AND IT IS A DONE DEAL.

    SPANISH. Me podras dar una mano con una HP B209 de cartucho x 4?. El display solo te indica atasco de papel. Los cartuchos es encuentran en el cabezal vacios. Pero cuando inicializa no corre el carro lo deja posicionado sobre su derecha. El scaneado lo realiza si lo sacas de su loop de pseudo error. No tiene nada de papel y no puedo quitar el cabezal por q esta en la zona de proteccion o inicializacion. Sin desarmar groseramente tenes algun tips? O indicarme como se saca la tapa superior ya q tiene tornillos pero en la parte de atras no logro encontrar como desarmarlo. Desde ya agradezco tu respuesta NOTA: Antes daba un error 036 ahora no se toma la molestia de informarme...

    My printer keeps saying; Check cartridge on the right ? I replaced it with a new cartridge what's wrong with it ? still saying check cartridge on the right

    My HP Officejet 6210xi All in One keeps getting a carriage jam and I was told to clean the encoder strip and I have it was realy realy dirty but it still gets a carriage jam but it no longer slams into the left and right side. Perhaps I need to clean it again since I did a quick job.

    My printer is brand new. I did all of this and still have a "carriage jam" error. There is not way to contact HP, t hey say there's no support at this time and hang up on you.

    Not really helpful, I always get the message "carriage jam" and an animation on what to do. Ive done it about 100 times and the problem still persists.

    So there are only two steps to correct this issue? What if neither work? Because neither of these did. And I contacted your support and that was not helpful either. They told me I should have purchased the extended warranty and there is nothin they can do for me. After 1.5 years the printer breaks and that is on me for spending $500 on a printer and not getting an extended warranty... Shameful HP.

    Apparently, my carriage has ink on it and I cannot get it to print more than the 'check ink cartridge' step. I love my Photosmart 2575 but might have to replace it. Which HP printer all-in-one is similar to my 2575?

    WHILE ROUGHLY REMOVING A PAPER JAM, I TORE THE PLASTIC ON ONE SIDE. HOW CAN I FIX IT?

      I am presuming that you have the Photosmart Plus B209 printer that is mentioned in the video.
      Are you talking about the plastic strip that the carriage travels back and forth along? If so that is known as the encoder strip and it is not available for ordering. If I have incorrectly identified the plastic part that you are referring to, please let me know so I can check on this for you.
