@@miruharabae yeah i agree. i honestly wouldnt be surprised if he has adhd becuase he definitely hyperfixates on the little background details and ignores the stuff staring him right in the face.
i think he assumed the empty space was the portal which made me so triggered. there was also an explosion particle there when he made the portal to imply that it just simply broke the wall.
The disc at the end is SO good Hardest disc of any mod I've ever seen. It felt like the title sequence appearing after an hour of gameplay. A beginning that initially feels like the end. Epic.
This character is certainly more derranged than the From The Fog main character considering that in both the first and second chapter just decided right away to throw hands with whatever horrors came for him, then tried to drown a villager in blood while sleeping, ate the raw flesh from an unknown and extremely cursed source without a second thought and if that wasn't enough he did it a second time but cooked it first for good measure and really liked it. The mosters should be scared of him.
For the future: Phantoms spawn based on a counter that resets when you lay down, not when you rise; taking a nap for even a second and then getting up manually will disable them for another few nights.
As much as I loved the video, I was screaming at the end after the boss fight for you to remember how you entered the dimension in the first place and get out of there xD The mod creator has done an amazing job and the music was really cool!
@@AwakenedHero227 Yeah, same, but apparently he didn't realize the block was what teleported him in the first place... somehow. I'm not really sure how, it was beyond blatant lol
I feel that minecraft's mainly single player aspect and the simplistic style of it brings a whole new fear to new terrifying things, and this mod definitely brings that fear. Love your content bro
As a kid I remember realizing the existence of Rotten Flesh being a drop from zombies implied that if the game was completely unhinged, there would also be normal human flesh.
I’m not sure why, but the completely unexplained block in front of the door at 11:01 made me laugh so hard. I have no idea what the context around it was, but we’ve all been there and it’s just so funny to me
I love how I'm just chilling and then I'm suddenly jumpscared by DEEP BLOOD (HORRIFYING NEW MOD) Anyways thanks for giving me more mindless entertainment
The surface of the blood down below the arena reminds me of the game "Iron Lung", where we explore a moon with the surface of a blood ocean. Its quite fascinating.
it hurt so much that you didnt realize the RED, PULSATING, FLOATING BLOCK THAT LOOKS LIKE THE THING YOU USED TO ENTER, takes you home. amazing video, that part just made me scream internally.
This mod has a lot of potential, especially in its creatures. The eerie sounds they make are incredibly scary. I could complain about the obtrusive, candy-red color of the flesh blocks, and the blood dimension that kinda takes the individual scariness of the blood monsters away, but overall? Super cool.
I think the cave dweller has started a horror mod phase, all the good horror stuff is popping up now, and goddamn I’m here for it. So this is the list i have for mods/ways to make minecraft the single most horrifying experience in the world, which now includes this mod: - Minecraft in VR - The man from the fog - From the fog datapack - herobrine mod - cave dweller - Deep Blood - Dark shaders - fog shaders - eyes in the dark mod Truly, this is the most efficient way to achieve a heart attack in minecraft! 😀
I’ve always thought with as much rotten flesh form zombies there are in the game that there should be a flesh block, and that, like Frankenstein, you should be able to make a flesh golem.
I don't usually comment ahead of time but since I know I will comment again anyways, I just wanna say I really enjoy your commentary. It is so calm even to just listen to in the background. Also, loving the Minecraft.
Feel like this "cave dweller, shipwreck survivor" is more of a monster hunter than the main character of "From the Fog" . That guy was more occult researcher
"Here I am organically wandering this cave and... WOAH..." *also has a piece of shulk just chillin in the hotbar* Literally 100% fair, it's fun and all to have stuff that makes you explore the world more in depth but sometimes RNG is just a bit unreasonably spiteful - Flow is just as important as variety, if not more so. Also seeing just how open you were about something that you could easily have just hidden is a proper chad move, mans doesn't mess with any of that "offscreen mining" bull.
I like to imagine these series of events are all unfolding within these characters' minds. Simply due to the fact that they're completely cut off from humanity, they are slowly going insane and trying to fill the void of loneliness. Only it becomes filled in a brutal, twisted way.
I made this comment before I saw the end bit with the cat character. I still stand with what I said. Brink of insanity. No- beyond insanity, has been achieved.
As much as that makes sense, I've seen so much horror media that is "it's all in your head" that I'm honestly just sick of it. I'm not telling you your wrong or to stop I'm just saying that I wish it would be something else LOL
hi librarian just to let you know im pretty sure deep dark biomes spawn anywhere thats considered dry, like deserts and savahnnas but theyre always guaranteed to spawn under tall mountains
for future mods and playthroughs, gamerules may be an integral thing to know about! theres ones like DoInsomnia that disable phantoms, dodaylightcycle ro stop time (good for permanent night), etc!
43:51 sculk and its blocks will ONLY be underneath mountains, usually nothing else, and the underground cities only lay under specific types of mountain
just wanna say: even if your channel's name wasnt 'The Librarian', it's easy to tell you like reading haha your way of narrating the events as they occur is very calming, yet extremely captivating! I have never watched one of your videos and, to be honest, didn't think I would watch much of this one either. I only had the intention of checking what the mod added to the gameplay experience, kill my curiosity and move on. But now im 12 minutes deep into the video and I am entranced! Not just by the suspense of the unknown, but by how intrigued you are by every minor shift in the enviroment around you and by how dramatic you can make a simple ambient sound seem. There is care here. I like how this video is crafted. I feel like im watching a horror movie, but it is a Minecraft gameplay (then again, why cant it be both? as someone who loves cinema and is a fan of the horror genre, this feels like an eye opening experience somehow) okay, i'll finish watching the video now, as soon as I leave my like
What I love about Minecraft is that it’s always fear of the unknown, giant caves dark as the abyss, torches that barely give you any light, you almost feel like you’re never safe, where’d that noise come from? Is there something chasing me? Where is the exit to the cave? Oh god I’m lost. You only ever feel safe if you’ve got the best armor, and now with the warden even that doesn’t keep you safe.
That music at the end sounds to me like it can provide a lot of lore. At first, it starts out simple and calm, but slowly it becomes overtaken by the sound of the blood creatures, possibly symbolizing that they were once actual creatures ensnared by the blood's grasp.
I love your Minecraft videos. They have a relaxing vibe and remind me of the 2015ish era of Minecraft. I wish I could recommend more mods for you to try out on this series but the only mod I know that's scary is the Grue mod but it only works on the 1.12 version of Minecraft. Anyways, I really appreciate your work. Can't wait to see the other mods that you will showcase in the future.
Bro i swear i tried watching this video like 4 times and each time i either fell asleep or close my eyes and essentially lucid dreaming some completly random video based on your voice and what i hear .... quite entertaining but god damn yoy have that perfect voice for sleeps
12:15 i feel like there's writing potential here. like imagine a protag finally getting some end all be all book of secrets and opening it only to see a replica what he's already recorded in his own notes, i don't fully know _how_ implement it but i feel it could be really good implemented well
Never have i seen a mob change sides to unite with the player against a greater evil. Im sure you jumped and that creeper propelled you off the mountain, but judging bye the damage you took after like a poisen effect, i aint sure what really happened. I never played the mod myself, but if it did, that creeper is a true hero.
I love the idea that the librarian found an old shipwreck, and inside it some books of stories written by those who's ship was washed away in a storm and they ended up washing ashore, living those horror stories, which actually cursed the books, and librarian by reading them actually cursed himself, and has to live, learn to live with or beat the evil that is in said book, by building defences, shrines, killing the monster to free himself from each book he is trapped in. Even more so since he's also playing the same world as the cave dweller means in the book librarian found, the author either survived the cave dweller or he wasn't alone from the ship's crew to have ended up living in that cabin above the caves, nor was he alone to have had some terryfing encounters.
I love listening to how you describe and analyze things Hearing you describe the ash biome as “An area of the Nether that has cooled” or an iron golem as “the village guardian” is fascinating
It caused me immense pain when he failed to realise that the big red portal that looked exactly the same as the portal he had come in through, was in fact a portal to leave. 59:42 "There's a portal here, that I can't even see" *_is looking directly at the very visible portal_*
I love how instead of being slow, and creepy. It starts off really violent in its pursuit, and continues being more and more aggressive. Genuinely makes it feel like a threat after how almost powerless Herobrine was after realising he was essentially smoke and mirrors
Hey Librarian, please try the Whisperwoods mod, Whisperwoods is a spooky forest themed mod adding multiple creatures designed to make your gameplay experience not only spookier but more interesting as some of the creatures are totally in your alley. Also, use the True darkness mod, that will truly define the nightmarish nights. :)
The Scape and Run Parasite mod and Fungal Infection: Spore mods are pretty cool and fleshed out (but difficult) mods inspired by The Thing, the Last of Us, and other body horror apocalypse movies/games. As they are difficult, I would recommend installing additional mods that give the player better weapons, gear, or abilities.
From another world is also pretty cool (basically ripped straight from the thing lol), it’s a neat little mod, it’s like a more fair version of scape and run, (using my scape and run ptsd I actually managed to defeat it first try without dying or looking at a showcase or wiki), it’s pretty neat and more balanced than srp, but even though it was kinda easy, it was definitely super scary at times, I 100 percent recommend it if you haven’t tried it already
Hey Liberian! Love your videos, they keep me entertained and your unique way of commentary puts an excellently good twist on each of the games you play… Just a tip, when you were trying to find a deep dark, ( for sculk ) , they can only spawn under ‘ extreme hills ‘ biomes, also spawn patches of sculk can randomly spawn in caves. Hope this was helpful and keep up the great work, you deserve a-lot more praise for these videos and the effort you put into them! Edit: I love the MyHouse.WAD comparison later on, the way you compare to two is brilliant…
I have a recommendation for another creepy mod! It's known as "Scape and Run: Parasites". It's a mod limited to 1.12.2 at the moment which makes such a small change that spirals out of control when left unaddressed. A warning going into the mod tho, u're not supposed to live or to "win". U're supposed to survive as long as u can. All u need to know going in is: listen for the call of the hive. If u hear it, one is near
Could you try out Gigeresque mod? It's all about Xenomorph, Eldritch Horrors and a Focus on the aspect of a Pandora Box. There are Quasi Lore to explore there, and it is so immersive and scary! :)

59:39 I’m pretty sure the portal can be seen; I presume it’s the red block with the shifting texture that teleported you when you touched it, with the original flesh block turning into the portal when you stabbed it, while the empty space next to it is just regular empty space.
I mean, thats obvious. Librarian is just a little oblivious
boy was i yelling at the screen as he fumbled around in the blood dimension, mans had no idea the portal back was right there lol
@@thetoyodacar2264 Yeah, there are actually plenty of times where Librarian overlooks or misses something so obvious that makes me yell at the screen.
@@miruharabae yeah i agree. i honestly wouldnt be surprised if he has adhd becuase he definitely hyperfixates on the little background details and ignores the stuff staring him right in the face.

He can be a bit silly sometimes
i think he assumed the empty space was the portal which made me so triggered. there was also an explosion particle there when he made the portal to imply that it just simply broke the wall.
3:30 the cave sounds mimic massive amounts of moving air, indicating something large stirring.
The disc at the end is SO good
Hardest disc of any mod I've ever seen. It felt like the title sequence appearing after an hour of gameplay. A beginning that initially feels like the end.

@@charlesworthless lmao ur welcome brodie
Did not expect this to get so cinematic out of nowhere
This character is certainly more derranged than the From The Fog main character considering that in both the first and second chapter just decided right away to throw hands with whatever horrors came for him, then tried to drown a villager in blood while sleeping, ate the raw flesh from an unknown and extremely cursed source without a second thought and if that wasn't enough he did it a second time but cooked it first for good measure and really liked it. The mosters should be scared of him.
For the future: Phantoms spawn based on a counter that resets when you lay down, not when you rise; taking a nap for even a second and then getting up manually will disable them for another few nights.
Honestly this is a really cool idea. Exploring the different types of paranormal in the same world, as an alternate timeline to from the fog.
As much as I loved the video, I was screaming at the end after the boss fight for you to remember how you entered the dimension in the first place and get out of there xD
The mod creator has done an amazing job and the music was really cool!
Good, I'm not the only one! XD

@@AwakenedHero227 Yeah, same, but apparently he didn't realize the block was what teleported him in the first place... somehow. I'm not really sure how, it was beyond blatant lol
@@MegidolErinit's cause the portal opening blew a hole in the wall and he didn't notice he touched the block
I love the detail that "Blood is thicker than water" and it literally sinks straight through water
THE WAY HE TALKS IS SO FUNNY BUT AMAZING I LOVE THIS GUY 😭😭😭
I’m not sure why, but the completely unexplained block in front of the door at 11:01 made me laugh so hard. I have no idea what the context around it was, but we’ve all been there and it’s just so funny to me

Can't help but wonder how Librarian would do with the S&R Parasites mod.
he’d probably be terrified and confused
It's an insanely hard mod, but it would be really cool to watch the world grow into Insanity bring him down with it.
@@GoldenSwordit would mostlikely destroy the world tho
he would die instantly is my bet, s&r is downright unfair at times
@@storm_fling1062 the thing with that mod is it will consume the world
The surface of the blood down below the arena reminds me of the game "Iron Lung", where we explore a moon with the surface of a blood ocean. Its quite fascinating.
it hurt so much that you didnt realize the RED, PULSATING, FLOATING BLOCK THAT LOOKS LIKE THE THING YOU USED TO ENTER, takes you home. amazing video, that part just made me scream internally.
That and his inventory management
This mod has a lot of potential, especially in its creatures. The eerie sounds they make are incredibly scary. I could complain about the obtrusive, candy-red color of the flesh blocks, and the blood dimension that kinda takes the individual scariness of the blood monsters away, but overall? Super cool.
I think the cave dweller has started a horror mod phase, all the good horror stuff is popping up now, and goddamn I’m here for it.
So this is the list i have for mods/ways to make minecraft the single most horrifying experience in the world, which now includes this mod:
- Minecraft in VR
- The man from the fog
- From the fog datapack
- herobrine mod
- cave dweller
- Deep Blood
- Dark shaders
- fog shaders
- eyes in the dark mod
Truly, this is the most efficient way to achieve a heart attack in minecraft! 😀
The man from the fog is basically the cave dweller on steroids and is pretty, pretty unbalanced
The irony of you commenting this ahead of watching and then he mentioning he had to downgrade and isn't playing 1.20.1 anymore is hilarious
@@feuerstern3001 It happens. I dunno how it's *that* funny tho I feel like you're overexaggerating just a bit.
@@plasticredI found it pretty funny. But everyone has a different sense of humor.
Feel like this "cave dweller, shipwreck survivor" is more of a monster hunter than the main character of "From the Fog" . That guy was more occult researcher
"Here I am organically wandering this cave and... WOAH..."
*also has a piece of shulk just chillin in the hotbar*
Literally 100% fair, it's fun and all to have stuff that makes you explore the world more in depth but sometimes RNG is just a bit unreasonably spiteful - Flow is just as important as variety, if not more so.
Also seeing just how open you were about something that you could easily have just hidden is a proper chad move, mans doesn't mess with any of that "offscreen mining" bull.
Now build a submarine to explore the blood ocean.
Just make sure it doesn’t implode
I like to imagine these series of events are all unfolding within these characters' minds. Simply due to the fact that they're completely cut off from humanity, they are slowly going insane and trying to fill the void of loneliness. Only it becomes filled in a brutal, twisted way.
I made this comment before I saw the end bit with the cat character. I still stand with what I said. Brink of insanity. No- beyond insanity, has been achieved.
@@evanm474 Insanity has finally been surpassed, and it has happened in this video.
As much as that makes sense, I've seen so much horror media that is "it's all in your head" that I'm honestly just sick of it. I'm not telling you your wrong or to stop I'm just saying that I wish it would be something else LOL
@@RamielEdits probably just because it's the most "realistic" or reasonable-sounding plot twist...i agree with you completely tho
hi librarian just to let you know im pretty sure deep dark biomes spawn anywhere thats considered dry, like deserts and savahnnas but theyre always guaranteed to spawn under tall mountains
Don't forget baby zombies are the real horror, and these mods will never compare to the sound of a child zombie groaning in the caves
for future mods and playthroughs, gamerules may be an integral thing to know about! theres ones like DoInsomnia that disable phantoms, dodaylightcycle ro stop time (good for permanent night), etc!
Never expected that mob at the end. 10/10 mod
the blood queen or..... "it"

even if your channel's name wasnt 'The Librarian', it's easy to tell you like reading haha
your way of narrating the events as they occur is very calming, yet extremely captivating!
I feel like im watching a horror movie, but it is a Minecraft gameplay (then again, why cant it be both? as someone who loves cinema and is a fan of the horror genre, this feels like an eye opening experience somehow)
okay, i'll finish watching the video now, as soon as I leave my like
That easter egg was horrifying. The most horrifice, obscure south korean horror films don't compare.
Honestly what's scarier than the actual mod is seeing the shipwreck survivor rapidly escalating to greater and greater lengths to actively study it.
Love how cinematic this feels, it's more like a story than a youtube video
"I saw this... this blood red monster at the edge of the swamp. It sent chills down my spine at the sight of it.
So then, I began breeding chicke-"
A total 180 in subject
Dude that music track was SO GOOD?!?!?!? Oh my god I ADORED it!
dude hersical did not disappoint with this mod, I'd love to see it expanded!!
6:19 I think that was the sound of a zombie converting into a drowned. If a zombie stays too long underwater it will transform into a drowned.
I'd love for you to play Scape & Run Parasites, from experience I'd have to say that is the most terrifying mod I've seen for Minecraft.
While that would be quite neat to see, I feel like that would be deeply frustrating for him once the ohgod factor wears away
Gotta have it in a modpack. The parasites are far too powerful to kill with vanilla weapons.

The way librarian talks sounds like an english major trying to write a novel sometimes
Love the commentary approach you took towards this video. Like reading a diary from a survivor handling an out of the ordinary experience.

Chickens: *[Slowly Increasing In Number Every Time He Passes By]*
Instantly clicked the notification knowing I may be in for another minecraft horror series
if u start sleeping in a bed, then get out before the night skips, phantoms won't attack
I was internally screaming "DUDE BLOCK THE GOD DAMN DOOR PLEASE" the entire time.
I love how dramatic he is, makes me feel like im watching someone actually experience this irl.
first time I have watched any of your videos. I like your calm tone and long video format, this is great stuff! keep up the good work
i didnt do anything to the nether, the basalt biome is vanilla

It caused me immense pain when he failed to realise that the big red portal that looked exactly the same as the portal he had come in through, was in fact a portal to leave.
59:42 "There's a portal here, that I can't even see" *_is looking directly at the very visible portal_*
I love how instead of being slow, and creepy. It starts off really violent in its pursuit, and continues being more and more aggressive. Genuinely makes it feel like a threat after how almost powerless Herobrine was after realising he was essentially smoke and mirrors
actually not intended, i have no idea why it seemed that it was getting more aggressive
@@hersical oh damn, well it worked well either way lol

Hey Librarian, please try the Whisperwoods mod, Whisperwoods is a spooky forest themed mod adding multiple creatures designed to make your gameplay experience not only spookier but more interesting as some of the creatures are totally in your alley. Also, use the True darkness mod, that will truly define the nightmarish nights. :)
First video of yours Ive seen and tbh? You get a free sub. Calming voice and the rp aspect to the mod showcase got me invested
if you need skulk in the future, it spawns in mountain biomes, which is why you hadn't found any yet
Everyone, the disk is now on my channel.
Hey Liberian! Love your videos, they keep me entertained and your unique way of commentary puts an excellently good twist on each of the games you play…
Just a tip, when you were trying to find a deep dark, ( for sculk ) , they can only spawn under ‘ extreme hills ‘ biomes, also spawn patches of sculk can randomly spawn in caves.
