I like the idea of having RGB lights on one.

Good advice about the particle board. I was going to use MDF which is always ridiculously heavy but I learned that Doepfer uses 1/4” birch or similar wood on their low cost cases and they are actually quite strong for using such thin material. I’m in the process of replicating a Doepfer monster system (168hp) with a 6U base and two 9U cabinets, mainly because it’s too hard to move one giant 24U 168hp case no matter what material you use. I know the angled look is cool with one large cabinet (that’s what I have now) but I thought sort of a reverse Marshall stack look with the 2 cabinets on top of the “head” or base in this case would be interesting.
This series is great. I’m really bad at woodworking so I’ve been doing a lot of research before building anything and this has been very helpful. I do think what companies charge for custom cases is a little crazy. They are handmade though and labor is expensive. Did you ever mention where you purchased your black rails? Those look nice.

I do indeed, in a couple of these videos I mention Modular Synth Lab (NL), the rails, threaded strips and PSU/Boards. Check the description for a link to their site. And good luck on the case! Big, Black Rectangle won't do you wrong! 🥰
