Hello John thank you for stopping by as always and yes it is good to be home. I'm going to take my physical examination and hopefully everything will be good so I can go back to Brazil.
No I won't be going there soon. I am back home on vacation now and while I am away on the ship I always post the short videos because that is all I am able to do while working out at sea. I posted many shorts.
Yes I am home now. the long videos I can't post until I get home. That's why I posted a lot of short videos at sea so I have things to post but I am home on vacation now.
@@JeffOnboard works for us , we’re always glad to get caught up ,I usually figure it out after watching a couple clips haha….enjoy your break we will be looking for more !

Hi Jeff, have you ever called into Southampton when travelling to Europe? When younger, I attended a boarding school in Devon and every year the trawlermen from Brixham, would host a trawler race. The vessel I was on, the crew left the race and we boarded one ship and made welcome by the crew. Climbing back down the Jacobs Ladder for this 15 year at the time was quite exhilarating, coming down off a large vessel and onto a small fishing vessel with the English Channel beneath you.
Wow, thank you for the comment and sharing the awesome story. Also yes I have been to South Hampton, but not recently and I remember golfing at a place not far away I think it was called Dibden. I would love to get back...
Yes Christmas was okay. We were just sitting at the dock in Germany relaxing. Of course it would be better not to be at work but considering the facts it was not too bad.
I love Germany during the holidays. The Christmas Markets, the folks selling great food on the streets, and the mulled wine and hot chocolate. Those pilots are nuts, delivered by boat or chopper. I know they get paid incredibly well but they earn every penny of it.
@@JeffOnboardMostly on ROROs and ferries, and on a few deck carriers as a deck officer. Always wanted to be an engineer, though. My certificates are still valid, so I guess I'll be going back soon. I can't seem to be able to resist the call of the sea! 🤣
I am considering this and in future posts would love an understanding of what your cabin was like? Or anything about options inside the ship? Is there a common lounge? Anyhow....scanned thru and didn't see that...that was what I was most curious about. Thanks!
Look around the channel I have posted cabin tours I think two different times and I will be doing it again this time and I have shown many other things around the ships as well you have to look at the videos on the channel
Just the other day in a vlog I am working on now I showed the gym and I will be showing some other things as well and I appreciate the ideas but look back in the channel you will see two different rooms for sure and I will be showing the one I am in now as well... I am trying to do a live stream this Sunday AT 1000 east coast USA TIME and I will show my room
They don't pay those pilots enough for the balls of steel that job requires and yeah, you were very lucky to not get slammed by a North Atlantic winter cyclone.
There are a lot of documents you need to get and things you need to do. I would also highly recommend a training program. You need things like: TWIC,, MMC document, US Passport, physical and drug clearance, basic safety course STCW, USCG medical cert...etc

Yay Jeff's back. I gotta catch up
Yes I am home now but I did not go anywhere. I always post short videos when I am away working on the ship.😎
@@JeffOnboard I took an 8 month vacation lol
That sounds like a great vacation to me....
Thanks Jeff I loved that video I hope you had a nice Christmas there

Yes they do... Also I agree with you. I absolutely love Germany I have probably been there 50 times in my life.
I really shouldn't be watching these videos, makes me want to go back to sea! 😄
When did you work on ships and what kind of ships did you work on? What dept.?

When u use the word crossing is that sailor talk for journey ? Ps enjoyed the video …
When we say crossing that means when we go over the ocean. One example would be selling from the United States to Europe....
@@JeffOnboard aha I get what u mean now 😀
man those ships are huge.
Yes and I have so much more ship footage. I think my next video I will just do another ship spotting video because I love those.
I’m a 3rd mate trying to get on an e ship in July or august hopefully I get it!
I should be back to work around then so hopefully we work together.
@@JeffOnboard that would be awesome!
and make a video together too
I don't think I've ever seen a pilot brought in by helicopter before. How common is this?
Usually it happens by boat, but when the weather is just too rough for that it will happen by helicopter. It is more common by boat.
Thanks for the reply. I'm sure it was a rough ride in the helicopter as well.
Looks fun though
Where do you start your swing from?.
Swing?
It's Australia's 🇭🇲 terminology on which Port & State you started your voyage from?.
Ahhhhhhhh I start and ended in the port of Norfolk, Virginia-USA
They don't pay those pilots enough for the balls of steel that job requires and yeah, you were very lucky to not get slammed by a North Atlantic winter cyclone.
Yes they definitely have a crazy job but they do receive a lot of pay from what I have heard.
How hard is it to get into your type of work?
There are a lot of documents you need to get and things you need to do. I would also highly recommend a training program.
You need things like: TWIC,, MMC document, US Passport, physical and drug clearance, basic safety course STCW, USCG medical cert...etc
❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😊😊

IS THERE A AMERICAN CAPTAIN ON YOUR SHIP?
I am on vacation now but every ship I have every work to on there is always an American captain because they are American flagged vessels. 😎⚓️🚢🇺🇲
